Last year, Nintendo said Labo was a title and platform that would be supported and sold for a prolonged period of time. Staying true to its word, earlier this week the company released a special VR update for Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. This follows on from Labo VR updates for multiple other first-party Switch titles.
Now, to help spread the word about this magnificent cardboard tech, Nintendo has uploaded the second segment of its special video series with Labo director, Tsubasa Sakaguchi. In this brief three-minute video, you'll hear Sakaguchi speak about how the concept for Labo came about and how VR was incorporated. Interestingly, basic VR research at Nintendo was already underway prior to Labo's creation. Last, of all, you can find out what inspired the different gameplay concepts within the VR Kit.
And if you missed it, here's part one:

BotW LABO update was my biggest disappointment with the Switch so far.
It's a bummer but with so much good going for it I'm not going to hate too hard over one failure.
What an age we live in when a packaging add-on is more reliable than Nintendo's own controllers.
Nintendo needs to get over this Labo rubbish they keep trying to push, its over priced cardboard accessories that has very little long term value. Nice for a few sessions but its not something you can get repeated use out of and at the price it sells for. It's just not good value.
@Razer
But, LABO is something interesting for audience like me.
A thing is garbage for one people, but is a hidden gem for other people.
@JHDK The low resolution of the game was a slight disappointment to me. But the gameplay experience was really cool, I thought it was worth it for that.
I really hope this guy loves and sees the huge potential in VR enough that he wholeheartedly pushes for Nintendo doing something all-in with VR for next-gen.
Man, a Nintendo VR headset that's up to the quality of where some PSVR 2 device might be next gen would just be something extraordinary imo.
VR is where pretty much everything truly exciting, paradigm-shifting and genuinely wonderful and magical is happening in gaming right now, imo, which will be for the foreseeable future too.
I cannot wait for the day there's a first party fully-fledged Nintendo VR headset on the market. . . .
@Razer No expense spared hey...
@impurekind I wouldn't hold my breath but I'm all about VR right now cos traditional gaming is getting a bit samey these days...The PSVR2 shud b the "one" just from observing the patents Sony has submitted and thr effort that has been put into it thus far...start saving...
I love LABO VR.
It’s a wonderful party favor. I’ve had friends from all walks of life equally blown away by the Elephant paintings and VR videos included. I mean, if you can accept it for what it is, and not wish it were something else, there is a mountain of joy there.
I'm interested to see where Nintendo takes Labo next. I would like to see a "Series 2" of sorts in the future that expands on the original kits, but also has new ideas as well.
I find Labo to be a joy to build and lots of fun and small plates oceans between both adults and kids they’re both equally impressed and most importantly have fun. MK8 is a blast with the wheel and pedal and the value I get is worth it for me.
