@SwitchForce Holy crap man, at no point does he even insinuate any of the things you're accusing him of. Take a step back and actually pay attention to what he is saying. If anything, he's saying the opposite of what you're accusing him of.
Phantasy Star IV is easily the best game on the list so far. Don't sleep on that game if you haven't played it yet. One of the best RPGs of the 16bit era. It's up there with the likes of Final Fantasy 6 and Chrono Trigger.
@imgrowinglegs For me it was selecting things in the environment only worked half the time. It was common to have to press the confirm button 2 or 3 times before it actually worked (they have since fixed that in patch updates).
The other issue was that there was an incredibly easy to encounter soft lock within the first 30 minutes of the game. I hadn't saved yet, and I had to start a completely new game again because of it. It was where you talk to that girl in your apartment building. After she left and went into her own apartment, her dialog prompt would show up again even though she wasn't there anymore. Selecting it would start the sequence with her again, but the game would soft lock part way through it.
@Ocaz It's more like Monkey Island than Fallout. It's basically a point and click adventure that uses dice rolls to determine the outcomes of your actions/decisions.
Metroid Dread isn't a good enough name for this game. It should have been called Metroid HYPE!!
-ahem- Lame jokes aside, I'm really am hyped for the game. My favorite gaming franchise is finally getting the sequel to the mainline story I've been waiting almost two decades for!
Every person who posts in the comments here is secretly going to buy the game. Including the person right above, right below, and you who are reading this comment! @_@
Wow, that's disappointing. I have such fond memories of the first two games on the GCN. I was really looking forward to this! Now I may have to wait for a sale.
I absolutely loved this game back in the day. I got it day one, and played the heck out of it. It's a bit of a shame that it doesn't hold up super well today because it only runs at 20fps, but it's still a fun ride to bust out every now and then.
That said, I feel that it must be said that Wave Race Blue Storm on the Gamecube is soooo much better. That game is a masterpiece.
The frame pacing for the horizontal scrolling in the action levels is so bad. It bothered me immediately upon playing it.
I also strongly recommend that everyone turn off the environmental effects option, because the frame rate is abysmal with it turned on.
A shame that the visuals are so bad as well. The first level in particular reaches insane levels of ugliness. Thankfully later levels come out looking better.
Luna Nights is so good on the Switch (their previous game), so I'm really looking forward to this. A real shame Nintendo Life never bothered to review Luna Nights for some reason (very odd considering how good it is).
I really like this game on the casual level, but it's my least favorite Cave shmup regarding trying to master it for high scores. Its scoring system feels insanely convoluted.
Is this not going to have english voice acting? Seems odd considering the remaster of Nocturn had all new voice acting added to it with an english dub. And if they really want the mainline series to take off the way Persona has, they need to treat it with the same kind of budget.
Mega Man 2's box art is nearly just as bad, but it rarely ever gets talked about. Yes, the artwork is noticeably better drawn, but the concept is still the same. Old guy wearing tights and holding a gun.
@Specter_of-the_OLED That's the first I've heard of them actually changing the game speed (which is different from changing the frame rate). Can you point to a review or source that confirms that they didn't adjust the frame rate correctly?
The Switch version is a hard pass for me considering 30fps was specifically the reason why I hated the Wii version. I'll definitely get it on my PS5 though.
@Ralizah The PS5 version ran smoothly. It was just riddled with bugs. The performance itself was fine. There's no chance the Switch version will run as smoothly as the PS5 version did at launch. Unless the Switch version runs at native 4K 60fps. So yeah, no chance.
Regardless, the PS5 version was insanely busted. Literally unplayable at launch without pulling your hair out due to its bugs and UI problems.
Hopefully they iron out the game before launch this time. The PS5 version was stupid broken when it launched. Literally the most technically broken game I think I've ever played. Even hitting a soft lock within 30 minutes of starting it, and having to start over from scratch.
Nobody is surprised by this. If you're going to do something like this, you need to do it in complete secrecy until it's finished. The moment you show your work before it's done, it's basically a death sentence for the project.
No amount of changes to the lighting is going to fix the terrible looking character models outside of battle. They basically tried way too hard to mimic the look of the pixel art in 3D, which just doesn't work at all. What looks great as pixel art, doesn't always translate directly into 3D.
A shame that this review dropped after the introductory sale has already ended. I specifically didn't give this game a try because I couldn't find a single review for it anywhere on the net. Guess I just have to wait for the next sale.

Re: Sony's Censors Strike As Switch Gets '20 Ladies' While PS4 Gets '20 Bunnies'
The sad part is that the bunnies actually look better in this case. It's genuinely shocking just how poorly drawn those poor ladies are.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 23rd)
I'm playing Mass Effect Legendary Edition on my Series X. Holds up shockingly well at 4K 120fps and super fast loading times.
Re: Every Nintendo Switch Online Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Game Ranked
Phantasy Star IV should have been in the top 3. That game is hella good.
Re: Random: VTuber Korone Plays Gyro-Enabled GBA Title WarioWare Twisted! With A GameCube
I actually tried this once. Do not recommend. XD
Re: Poll: Which Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Games Should You Play First Via Nintendo Switch Online?
Phantasy Star IV is easily the best game on the list so far. Don't sleep on that game if you haven't played it yet. One of the best RPGs of the 16bit era. It's up there with the likes of Final Fantasy 6 and Chrono Trigger.

Everyone is here.
Re: Nintendo Leaker Suggests Pricing Of Switch Online's Expansion Pack Could Be Tied To "Licensing Costs"
@Franklin These are Genesis games. Not Dreamcast games.
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Price?
It's legit absurd that they're asking for more than double the price for it.
Re: Poll: So, Which Switch OLED Did You Buy?
@Zuljaras A self fulling prophecy!?
Re: Review: Astria Ascending - A Solid JRPG Salvaged With The Help Of Final Fantasy Veterans
The reviews have been so mixed on this one. I was really looking forward to it, but I'm just not sure still if I want to give it a go.

Re: Review: Disco Elysium: The Final Cut - Still An Absolute Triumph On Switch
Interesting that it seems...good on Switch? The PS5 version was an epic train wreck when it launched. One of the most broken games I've ever played.

Re: Rumour: Konami Reportedly Reviving Castlevania, Metal Gear Solid, And Silent Hill
Really worried about another reimagining of Castlevania. I did like the Lords of Shadow games, but I also really want that 1999 game!
Re: Review: Castlevania Advance Collection - Utterly Essential Thanks To Aria Of Sorrow
@Themagusx1 Nice "I know you are but what am I!!?" comeback. XD
Grow up edge lord.
Re: Review: Castlevania Advance Collection - Utterly Essential Thanks To Aria Of Sorrow
@Themagusx1 Nah, Vampire Killer is awful.
But continue to be the edge lord you seem to think you are by making baseless assumptions about people you don't know.
Re: Review: Castlevania Advance Collection - Utterly Essential Thanks To Aria Of Sorrow
@Themagusx1 Vampire Killer wasn't a port of the original Castlevania. It was developed at the same time and is a completely different game.
Re: Review: Castlevania Advance Collection - Utterly Essential Thanks To Aria Of Sorrow
Yeah, Aria really carries this collection. It's a legit masterpiece.
HoD is good, but not great. CotM is below average. And Dracula X is decent, but not nearly as good as the original Rondo.

Re: Cult GameCube Shmup 'Castle of Shikigami 2' Is Headed To Switch This December
A shame that they likely won't retain the legendary dub for the game. Absolutely incredible meme worthy stuff in the PS2 original.

Tales of Arise and Phantasy Star IV. Both are absolutely fantastic!

Re: Review: Eastward - A Creative Zelda-Like Adventure With Absolutely Killer Art
Mutton chop girl looks so much better in the game than she does in that promo art. What were they thinking?
Re: Charming RPG Eastward Is Out Today On Switch, Here's The Launch Trailer
Love the in-game art style of this game. A shame the promotional art looks so odd. Like why does the girl have mutton chops?
Re: Review: Cruis'n Blast - An Arcade Racing Icon Returns In Spectacular Fashion

In all seriousness, the game is really good so far. Probably the most fun I've had with an arcade racer since Burnout Revenge on the Xbox 360.

Re: Review: Sonic Colors Ultimate - The Best 3D Sonic Game Gets A Respectable Remaster
@anoyonmus Digital Foundry just showed that playing it on PS5 doesn't have any performance issues. Only on PS4 and PS4 Pro.
It does have some minor glitches, but no frame rate issues.
