Confirmation of the expanded Disco Elysium: The Final Cut brought much delight to fans of the RPG, with its storyline and choice mechanics earning the original iteration plenty of plaudits. It's also been known for quite some time that the Switch is in line to get this version of the game, which has already graced PC and PlayStation.
It may be getting a little closer to a release date announcement, as a PEGI rating has been spotted - hat-tip Twisted Voxel and @Nibellion. The rating has an inaccurate release date of, well, today (30th August) but the key update is that the rating has added those details for Switch and Xbox consoles.
Previously pegged for this Summer on Switch, we once described it as a "political-supernatural-murder-mystery-thriller-detective novel-RPG", and its intriguing approach and storytelling has won it numerous awards and critical acclaim.
We'll keep our eyes peeled for an official release date - are you planning to experience this one on Switch?

It will be another must have. One of the very few great indies that aren't on Switch yet.
One of the best games in years. A must own.
Hopefully the frame rate is better than it was at launch on PS5. It’s a truly special game, one of the best of the past decade.
"The rating has an inaccurate release date of, well, today"
Last I checked, today isn't over yet; let's see how inaccurate that date really is. I know it won't happen, but let me have my delusions.
Looks good will definitely check it out soon.
Hopefully they iron out the game before launch this time. The PS5 version was stupid broken when it launched. Literally the most technically broken game I think I've ever played. Even hitting a soft lock within 30 minutes of starting it, and having to start over from scratch.
Heard a lot of good things about this game.
Never looked into what it actually was.
Moody top-down open-world RPG? I might be game!
Must get back to this game.
Looking forward to the assumed $60 standard release. The $250 collectors edition, no so much.
People say this game is awesome. I may buy it and add it to the backlog once it comes to Switch.
Great, been waiting for this, I prefer keeping all my indies on the Switch if they're not on Game Pass.
@Pod It’s a bit like an isometric RPG crossed with a point and click game. It’s quite unlike anything else I’ve really played and it properly makes you feel like a detective.
Sounds like a Nintendo Direct shadow drop to me. (Y'know, the whole strategy of First party, indies and proven hit games 'n' all that.) This week or next perhaps?
@nessisonett It's going to be extremely amusing if the Switch port is better optimized and thus runs more smoothly at launch than the PS5 version initially did.
@Ralizah I guess they’ve had more time to focus on this version and the Xbox version in particular. They were dealing with the Final Cut update releasing on PC and Mac and the ports to PS4, PS5 and Stadia at the same time.
I couldn't wait and bought it on PS4. It's one of the best RPG gaming experiences to be had right now. If the Switch version runs smoothly, this will be a must have for sure!
Considering how the switch struggles to run a majority of non first party games I'm a bit concerned in what state it will be released when it launches, especially when the PS5 struggled. I'd hold off on a pre-order, at the very least.
@Ralizah The PS5 version ran smoothly. It was just riddled with bugs. The performance itself was fine. There's no chance the Switch version will run as smoothly as the PS5 version did at launch. Unless the Switch version runs at native 4K 60fps. So yeah, no chance.
Regardless, the PS5 version was insanely busted. Literally unplayable at launch without pulling your hair out due to its bugs and UI problems.
Was waiting on a sale for it on Stadia, didn't know it was heading to Switch, guess I'll hang on a bit long then.
Why does a great game go eShop rather then Physical?
I'll wait to see how it performs technically, as well as those pesky loading times. If it doesn't cut it, PS5 it is. Really hoping the switch version will be great though, really want to play it while mobile.
That looks great. Another indie gem on Switch
I never double-dip but I struggle to find time to play this on PC even though I’ve loved every minute of the first few hours. Maybe a pick-up-and-play Switch version would help. Slightly nervous about how they’ll handle all the small text for handheld mode though – some games do assume superhuman eyesight. Fingers crossed.
Been hanging out for this all year - really annoying we can’t get a date beyond ‘summer’ which ended this week
