Re: Review: F-Zero X (Wii U / N64)

@impurekind A few things:

#1: This kind of thing rarely happens with Nintendo, and compared to the rest of the industry, Nintendo are SAINTS when it comes to bugs and errors. Also, some of the other things are nitpicky at worst.

#2: Having no backwards compatibility was inevitable. BC takes power and space to implement, and the Switch's design wasn't going to allow it. Just keep your old consoles. Also, "Nintendo in its heyday" didn't have backwards compatibility on anything aside from the Gameboy.

#3. They fixed the Gamepad's problem by realizing it was a bad idea from the start. Switch on!

#4. I'll admit the account system is horrid, but I can see them doing something similar to Sony (2 of each system per account) in the future

Actually, I'd still consider a Nintendo a saint in the industry if those "problems" were the worst ones they did.

@998613game You still gotta remember that reviews are still opinions. With that said, the reviewer for each game may not be the same person.

I wouldn't place my decision all on one review anyway, good or bad. Some reviewers may just hate games that I fall in love with or vice versa.

@impurekind Exceptions to the copyright law include educational and fair use.

Educational use only allows educators in a physical classroom to use works without permission.

Fair use allows review or parody of copyrighted works among other exceptions.

Fan games like the Metroid one are not considered parody or review and rip out trademarks like Samus the character, the Metroid logo, and is considered a similar work to the original source. Despite the fact that it's non-profit, it's still considered infringement due to its similarity.

Going back to a point you made, I don't assume Nintendo is always in the right. However, that doesn't mean that fans are either.
