Re: Best 4K TVs For Nintendo Switch 2

LunarFlame17

FYI, there is also a 48” version of the LG B4, only available at Best Buy. It’s quite cheap for an OLED TV. I got mine on sale for $500. Absolutely fantastic TV, especially for the price.

Re: Nintendo Should Copy This Feature For Switch 2, But It Probably Won't

LunarFlame17

Yeah, seems kinda pointless to me. This kind of excessive customization is stuff I associate with PC gaming and, like, esports stuff or whatever. It seems exhausting to me. It’s easier for me to get used to whatever the default button layout is than to expend mental energy thinking about what the “perfect” layout would be for me.

Re: Poll: Will There Be A June 2023 Nintendo Direct?

LunarFlame17

I don't think you can predict whether there will be a June Direct based on Nintendo dropping out of E3. Everyone dropped out of E3! And then it got cancelled altogether! It seems much more likely to me that Nintendo dropped out of E3 because they knew it was going to suck.

As for whether I think there will be a June Direct: I don't know, and I don't care! But I do think it's funny that June used to be the most predictable month for a Direct, and now it's the least.

Re: Best Nintendo Switch RPGs

@Travelguy38 Oh good, this is still happening. deep sigh Okay, so the comments on this article are from every version of this article that NintendoLife has ever done. They did the first version of this article right after FFVII came out and somehow didn't include it. So I commented on that fact, and then they added FFVII, but my comment is still there, so people tell me all the time a fact I already know, which is that FFVII is on this list.

Re: Random: People Are Getting Pretty Worried About Splatoon 3

LunarFlame17

I don’t understand comparing marketing for Pokémon games to marketing for any other Nintendo game. I mean, I guess I understand random people on Twitter not getting the distinction, but a writer at NintendoLife should know full well that Pokémon marketing is not handled by Nintendo.

Re: E3 2022 In Doubt As Journalist Claims Digital Event Is "Probably" Also Cancelled

LunarFlame17

@Harmonie I see what you’re saying, but I kinda feel like last year’s E3 disproves your point. Most of the presentations felt unnecessary, like the companies only made a presentation because they had to, because it was E3. Maybe if we don’t have a certain time of year when companies “have to” announce things, we’ll get better announcements, released when the companies have something to announce, not just because it’s E3 time.

Or maybe I’m just trying to look on the bright side. I’ve always loved E3, but it felt like a shadow of its former self even before the pandemic, and last year’s showing was, frankly, pathetic. I’d rather it die completely than limp along the way it has been.

Re: E3 2022 In Doubt As Journalist Claims Digital Event Is "Probably" Also Cancelled

LunarFlame17

@Harmonie True but 2020 was the beginning of the pandemic, and obviously Nintendo, for whatever reason, struggled more than most video game companies to adapt to the changed circumstances. At this point it seems like they’ve gotten more used to how things are, and I expect we’ll get a summer Direct this year, even if we won’t know ahead of time when it’s going to be.

Re: Poll: How Can Summer Game Fest And E3 2022 Improve On Previous Years?

LunarFlame17

Companies need to actually announce things. So many of the E3 shows last year were pointless. I remember Capcom’s show in particular was painful to watch. If you don’t have anything new to announce, don’t bother to have a show. Nintendo Directs are exciting because Nintendo uses them to announce a bunch of stuff, and somehow no other video game company (except maybe Xbox) has figured that out.

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo's N64 Emulation Is Serviceable, But Treasured Memories Deserve Better

LunarFlame17

I don’t think there’s anything Nintendo could do with their legacy games that would satisfy “the internet” at this point. People complained about the Wii Virtual Console, they complained about the Wii U Virtual Console, they complain about NSO. Heck, I’m convinced if Nintendo just gave away every pre-Switch game they own for free, the internet would find a way to complain.

Re: Talking Point: Five Years On From The Frenzy Of 'NX' Becoming The Switch

LunarFlame17

I'll be honest, I didn't pay much attention to the NX speculation. (I didn't even realize until a few years later that Nintendo had actually talked about NX themselves, and it wasn't just leakers and rumormongers who came up with that codename.) The Wii U was such a tremendous dud for me that I was totally "over" Nintendo by mid-2016, but that Switch reveal trailer changed my tune instantly. I was immediately smitten, and the Switch turned out to be the first console I ever preordered. Honestly, it's probably my favorite console ever, and I can't quite understand why people get so down on it. People just love to hate on popular things, I guess.

Re: Talking Point: Remember When People Thought Switch Would Fail?

LunarFlame17

This was a fun trip down memory lane, especially cause I was definitely one who was skeptical about the Switch at first. I didn’t think it would fail, but I also didn’t think it had a chance of rivaling the Wii. I was personally excited for it, though, so excited, in fact, that it was the first console I ever preordered in 30+ years of gaming! And I still love it, so much so that the second console I ever preordered was a Switch OLED!

Re: Review: Immortals Fenyx Rising - An Off-Brand Breath Of The Wild That's Still Worth A Look

LunarFlame17

I’ll be honest, I don’t understand why everyone hates the title. Yeah, it’s not great. It kinda sounds like “Video Game: The Video Game!”, but Gods and Monsters is seriously the most generic name I’ve ever heard.

Anyway, that was a good review, and I was very excited for this game, and now I’m not sure if I want it after all. I knew it would be off-brand BotW, but it sounds like it’s even more so than I expected.
