Another day, another ten thousand Switch Pro rumours with not much to add. Trust me, we're as bored of the "BREAKING NEWS: SWITCH PRO TO HAVE BUTTONS????" as you are, but the latest is that the founder of XboxEra on Twitter is predicting Thursday as the announcement, but the more interesting thing is that a new(ish) name has started making the rounds: The Super Nintendo Switch.
Now, we're all well aware that Nintendo is... not the best at coming up with new console names. It's a pretty solid theory to say that the Wii U suffered in sales partly because people didn't realise it was an entirely new concept, and not just a slightly-different Wii, and the phrase "New Nintendo 3DS XL" sounds more like an ointment for some awful skin condition than it does a console. To put it another way, we would not be entirely surprised if Nintendo decided to run with "New Switch U Max" or something equally annoying to write.
To cut to the point: none of us have any idea what the new Switch will be called, but we're pretty certain it's coming. So: what do you think is the most likely name, out of the ones we've seen so far?

New Nintendo Switch U (& Knuckles)
Nintendo Super Switch!
Super Switch Pro+ Ultra XL
I figure either "New" or a word that they haven't used before. I'm not sure if it's gonna be a big upgrade though. I'm kinda wondering if it's just going to be another baby revision
Nintendo Switch Digital Deluxe Banana Blitz HD Trilogy Ultimate Edition Substance
The Nintendo Switch. No one will know which version of the console they’re buying or selling until they turn it on. It’s like a very expensive lucky dip.
They should call it Swiitch.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: my preferance lies with "Nintendo Switch+" but I don't think it'll be the actual name. Would love to be wrong though!
Nintendo has been obsessed with the word "new" these days. So...New Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo Switch Heavii
As another user stated the other day, “P-Switch,” would be excellent. Full credit goes to that other user whose name I didn’t save!
NINJA APPROVED
Super Nintendo Switch would be baller, but I'm willing to bet it'll be the "New Nintendo Switch", just like the 3DS.
Nintendo Switch & Knuckles is all I need
New Nintendo Switch ADVANCED
Can't be switch pro or xl as it is replacing current version.
Super would indicate a new console rather than revision.
Must be New Nintendo Switch although that isn't the most exiting name is it.
IF the rumors are even true then I'm thinking Switch Plus.
They could brand it with a neat little + .
There's nothing "pro" about a console so that name is a bit weird (same for PS4 Pro). "Super" is nice, but the SNES era is long gone. I think "New" best describes the next iteration of the Switch. Like they did with the 3DS.
@the4seer
Switch Plus isn't bad either.
I don't buy into the rumors at all, so my choice was obvious.
New Super Nintendo Switch Pro XL Ultra Reloaded
Yes please
As offered in the YouTube poll, I think it'll be Nintendo Switch: The Movie.
I think it will be called Switch +
I'm operating under the assumption they're fake until there is official confirmation from Nintendo themselves. That being said, I think Super Nintendo Switch would be a bad idea. It's cool and I really dig the SNES throwback, but that's just it. It implies that this new Switch is an entirely new platform, akin to the difference between the NES and SNES, rather than a hardware revision. New Nintendo Switch is the more probable, but significantly dumber sounding, name. In my opinion, anyway. Who knows, maybe I'm totally missing the mark on this one, wouldn't be the first time!
The, "Bait 'N' Switch".
Switch 2: Electric Boogaloo
Nintendo Switch NX (short for Next)
Nintendo Switch DX (short for deluxe)
Nintendo Switch Ultimate Edition
The Nintendo Puu
Nintendo Switch Extra
Switch 2.0
The Nintendo Switch Vapour Edition
Switch+
(I have no idea if it's even real!)
It’ll be called Steven.
Well, we’ve already got the Switch Lite so how about the:
Light Switch!
…I’ll get my coat.
CAN THEY PLEASE ANNOUNCE OR DENOUNCE THIS THING ALREADY!!
Nintendo Switch Pro won't happen because Sony already did it with PS4 Pro, and there will inevitably be some naive people who think the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller only works with the Nintendo Switch Pro.
Any other name is fair game.
The New Switcharoo
Not just any plain ol' switcharoo, but a brand New Switcharoo
Nintendo Power Switch. Works on so many levels.
I don't think even Nintendo know. I hope they call it the Switch? so everyone has to say it like they're asking a question and it causes complete chaos in pretty much every article about it.
I would say it’s more not what I think but what I wish! ☺️
My bet would be New Nintendo Switch...though I’m hoping for Super Nintendo Switch!
Super Nintendo Switch HD, or Super Nintendo Switch 4K. Gotta make the video upgrade clear, and SUPER instead of NEW would be clearer.
Nintendo? Being clear? They're more likely to call it Switch U.
Nintendo Switch GTX 3000 (with a 3 litre petrol engine).
xD
Nintendo will call it
New Nintendo sWiitch U.
Now with upgraded 4K Wii U ports.
Nintendo Switch SP
Nintendo Wii®️ 3
New Nintendo Switch.
since the screen will be bigger, I bet they chose SWITCH XL.
I'm used to call it "Nintendo Switch Pro", but in fact I don't think so. I would like "Super Nintendo Switch" or at least "New Nintendo Switch"
-Super Nintendo Switch : Breath of The Wild 2 With Latest OLED Screen-
@F_T_Wolf I quite like that, simple but also clear it’s a different switch/upgraded model
@FragRed it don’t matter. Remember the current model will be phased out.
It will be called a rumour that went on for many years but never happened. Or just a fake rumour for short.
Something boring
Super in Super Nintendo Colours would be cool.
It's going to be called "Nintendo Switch (2021)"
How about Switch Up?
Nintendo Switch Ultra, because it delivers 4k = Ultra HD. And you can easily abbreviate it as Switch U 😝
Nintendo Sandwich.
Maybe take the Iphone approach and just call it a Switch 2. It won't happen but it's nice to dream. If it doesn't happen, Switch & Knuckles is the dream
Either "New Nintendo Switch" or a extremely radical new name using profanity.🤞🤞(🤪)
I feel like I had something to do with this article bc just the other day I was talking about the real name for the switch pro.
@GeneJacket @OzMikey that’s what I was thinking at first. “Nintendo Super Switch.” but “New Nintendo Switch” seems valid too. along with all the other peeps that mentioned “Nintendo Switch +”
those would be my top three guesses
Nintendo Switch Rumor Edition
Super duper nintendo switch
New Nintendo Switch makes the most sense
Nintendo Lightbulb
Either that, or New Super Nintendo or Nintendo Switch Deluxe.
Switch Ultra
Why is a new name required? The need has not been established by the article or any comment I've read.
If a new revision appears (ah say that is AH SAY IF), it will not feature 16 GB of main system RAM with a dedicated GPU, as some people seem to believe it might. Did the "red-box" revision tout itself with a name change? Does an improved dock, do smaller bezels, merit this kind of marketing?
I'm not trying to stifle anyone's creativity here; I'm just questioning the premise.
They're using Deluxe a lot recently, so I could see them going with that
Super Switch 4k Ultimate Arcade Edition
Nintendo Frank
I’ll honestly take anything other than “…Pro”
To me that is such a disgusting bro-ey moniker. I didn’t even like when it was used for PS4. Look all I’m saying is Nintendo can do better than that.
I’m also sick of “…Plus.”
As someone who only expects a successor model sometime later, I don't even expect it to be 100% called a "Switch", especially if they add another tech twist and need a name to reflect that. I've already fantasized about "Nintendo Voyager" and some such; too bad Sega called dibs on "Dreamcast" long ago, it would sound quite Nintendo. More so than Nintendo's G6 peer of Dreamcast itself did, actually. 😄
I’ve always been partial to Super Switch but I doubt they’d go with such a grandiose name if this new Switch will just be a mid-gen upgrade like everyone expects.
Ultimate Nintendo switch, maybe?
Or switch deluxe, that's so bad they might do it.
Nintendo Switch+
@Teksetter AAAAHHHH WE MUST STOP AGREEING LIKE THIS IT KNOCKS MY WORLD OFF-AXIS
Another daft name like New Nintendo Switch so the headlines will be "New Nintendo Switch game" and you won't know if it's a new game for Nintendo Switch or an exclusive game for New Nintendo Switch. Exactly what happened with New Nintendo 3DS.
Super Nintendo Switch DS64 Entertainment system Famicom.
Nintendo Port
The Nintendo Txjudi.
Call it Brian.
The f***ing switch!
Switch 2: the reswitchening
I'd love it to be called Super Nintendo Switch, honestly. It would be massive.
"The sequel to the Nintendo Switch is now in development"
Nintendo Switch Plus XL
Obviously the Switch U
I am guessing price tag will be $300 to $350 price tag. USA dollars
Nintendo B*tch PLZ.
Super Nintendo Switch really makes the most sense and is a terrific blast from the past. My second guess (more like wishful thinking) would be "Nintendo Switch Advanced". The Nintendo Switch Lite not being called "Micro" seems like a missed opportunity then!
Odds are itl be calld the "New" switch... though i Hope it is calld the Super Switch to nod to the Super Nintendo.
I hope its Nintendo Switch 2.
@anoyonmus I'd guess 379,- or something other shy of 400,-. I think it'd be easily worth it.
Nintendo Switch Plus
Super Switch is just catchy.
Switchchuck
Short, sweet, to the point.
Super Nintendo Switch
But really, we should ask capcom. They have a knack for attaching adjectives to titles
@Scollurio nah 350 makes sense
A console that is 400 dollars and that is probably gonna be less powerful than the ps5 which is at 400 will not be worth it at all. Just buy the ps5 instead.
Also there is the series s to consider as well. It is 300 dollars. So either 300 or 350 will make sense for new switch
But just imagine that all of these rumors turn out to be false
Didn't Nintendo hire some people involved in branding to help them better name their console iterations? Wii U and 'New' 3DS were poorly realised naming. Switch was a good name I guess. I imagine the same team are helping name the Switch's 'evolved' version. May be Switch 'Advance'. Switch 'Evolved'. Something like that? Switch Plus seems a likely candidate
Nintendo Switch Revolution
Omg I don’t even care what the name is. As long as it is good and it is cheap like 300 or 350, I am fine with it
Nintendo Switch Pro is gonna be know as Nintendo Switch up/advanced.
1-2-Switch: The console.
Nintendo Switch XL. Just a bigger screen but same specs as normal switch
I think New Nintendo Switch, sadly. Super Switch is kinda nice though.
Whatever they call it, this refresh may kill my chances of seeing a simple Switch 2, Switch 3, etc. approach to naming. I’ve never owned a PlayStation, but I like how clear their names are.
i like nintendo switch pro.
Perfect Nintendo Entertainment System. Or just PNES for short.
Nintendo Switch Up!
Switch Ultra 4k.
What else?
@Kieroni God i hope not, using the word "New" in a model name is the worst idea ever. Every time a company does that its a terrible idea in virtually every single way. haha
Nintendo Switch plus, my uncle who works for Nintendo as a janitor told me.
Could also be a play on the Switch Lite, so Nintendo Switch full fat.
Super Switch. Mark my words
It will probably be a name, that would be simple and easy to remember. With fewer syllables, as “Super Nintendo Switch” is more of a mouthful compared to the Switch Pro. Looking at most of their previous consoles, it could be as simple sounding as the “Super Switch”.
Nintendo Switch Lite
Nintendo Switch
Nintendo Switch Heavy
I mean Pro would make sense, it follows naming conventions they already use. XL would as well but they seem to want to distance it from the DS given that the DS is now obsolete it makes less sense.
Nintendo Super Switch
Nintendo Switch XL
Nintendo Switch-Back
@NintendoBMA I like the idea of SNS, it has a very good history to it. But calling it super..i dunno it just sound very retro and old now. I do like it though haha
Nintendo switch ultra in hommage of the ultra64.
Nintendo Docked S
Nintendo Stable
I really don't think it's gonna be anything we guess. It will be something out of left field. Did ANYONE predict Wii U? DSi? I feel like if there's any truth to the so-called leaks, it's not gonna be something we've predicted.
But if I could vote for which one I liked, I'd vote for Super Switch, or Switch Advance. Switch Plus has a nice ring to it too.
Super Switch, as the Super Nintendo was Nintendo's best console... until the Switch.
As what @the4seer just said I'm rolling with Switch Plus (or Switch +). It just fits with what a lot of companies (more on the streaming services end) are using nowadays to name and market their exclusive/advanced product(s).
It also goes with my prediction that this hardware revision is still very a part of the Switch "family" (OG Switch, Switch Lite and now the inevitable upgrade). It will still be a "Switch" but with a little more bells & whistles to keep the sales rolling in while we wait a few more years till the inevitable full on Switch 2.
I think it will be called "Nintendo Switch X9K".
Switch Ultra
They should absolutely call it the Super Nintendo Switch, so they most likely will not do that. It'll probably be something really terrible like the 'Switch Up'.
Nintendo Switch 4k
@Joeynator3000 New Super Mario Bros came out over 15 years ago. Nintendo has been using “new” for a long time now.
Probably either Super Switch, Switch Plus, or something like “Switch N-hanced”.
Switch Slim (I hope - that sucker needs to be a bit lighter - but still DOCK-ABLE).
Nintendo Switch Plus would be my bet.
Switch +
Switch Plus
The Nintendo Switch ZX edition or
Super Switch is cool
Dear Nintendo, please stop putting "New" in front of things. It's only accurate for a while and it makes eBay searches impossible.
Nintendo Switch Deluxe, given the Switch has always given Wii U games the "Deluxe treatment"
Nintendo Switch +.
Nontendo Smitch Neuvo
I picked Nintendo Switch XL because that’s what I think it will be called. I think Super Nintendo Switch is a better name though
Similar to one of the options, Nintendo Switch R U. So Ninty can nickname it the Switcheroo, because it'll replace your current Switch.
I wanted Super Nintendo Switch, but I know they will probably go for ''New Nintendo Switch''.
Damn it to hell if they don't make it thin with sharp edges and call it the "Switch Blade"
The most appealing name would be the Nintendo Switch Plus
Nintendo Switch Lite
Nintendo Switch
Nintendo Switch Plus
Any other name is just bad marketing, and Nintendo would be asking for confusion. Super Nintendo Switch is cool - but implies it's the next generation, Nintendo Switch Pro is just dumb and basic, if anything it'll be called New Nintendo Switch but that'll be confusing. If Nintendo was smart they'd go with Nintendo Switch Plus.
Let’s just go with Super Switcher But honestly, I would love to see Super Switch, or Nverse, Ntertain, or Nintendo 21 .....forever 21))))
Nintendo switch 4k
Nintendo Switch: Game Cube edition. Will allow you to play GC games from the eshop.
Or Nintendoom. That would be a fun change up.
Nintendo Switch
Nintendo 2witch, but 2 is just mirror S
Nintendo Switch, now with a bigger screen!
What do I THINK it will be called? No idea! But I would love the Super Nintendo Switch... it will bring me back to the day when I upgraded from my NES to my Super NES. I'll just have to do it again!
If they keep the base Switch on the market, just about any name works, like maybe Switch Deluxe.
If they phase out the current switch then they need a name that's not defined by contrast to a product that eventually won't be out anymore. Something subtle like the Nintendo Switch+. The Switch+ is good particularly if there are no exclusives, which there shouldn't be.
I highly doubt it'll be called the "Pro". Not the vibe they go for.
Switch XL is also a possibility but I don't think the larger handheld screen size is actually what they want to emphasize. With 3DS it makes sense because it was small to begin with and bigger is a big market differentiator for people like me who don't like straining their eyes. The extra half inch or whatever of screen ain't a system seller this time around.
Super Nintendo Switch is a helluva name to invoke without a super lineup to back it up. Not just one game but like 10-15 first party titles and I haven't heard anything to suggest that deluge is coming so save that name for the next gen console.
I like Switch+. But as you said, they could come up with something completely out of left field.
Nintendo Switch SP
Unlikely, to be called 'super' when it all consoles, back to the Wii could run snes games without an internet connection or subscription, and Switch can't.
Whatever it wants to be called.
Super Nintendo Switch or New Nintendo Switch.
Please do not use Pro. That Sony monikor is so unappealing.
There are two possibilities. The 99% one is that it's called the "Switch", once all this BS hype and weekly rumours we've had for 2 years turns out to be a new color original switch with upgraded battery life and Joy Cons that actually work.
The 1% chance is that a console with anything even close to the 8k super system that makes the PS5 looks like a calculator all the rumours seem to point to, and that will be called "The Nintendo Xbox, powered by Microsoft Game Pass"
I'm still really hoping they go with "Nintendo Stitch! The Movie!"
I’m going with Nintendo Switch R…..
Because why the hell not.
It needs to be a name with minimal changes that will cause a lot of confusion like
"Switchy"
Switch 4K
Think about it, if 4k it's it's new gimmick, makes sense...
@KBuckley27 I like that. Especially using the + symbol instead of spelling it out.
Switch Ultra or Nintendo Switchtyfour.
New Nintendo Switch Pro 🤷♂️
Nintendo Switch +
Based on Nintendo’s recent style, I voted New Nintendo Switch. The fact its taking over for the older Switch instead of people sold along side it, Switch Pro seems unlikely. Same for Super Switch. No way the go back to the U moniker. XL only other one I think is feasible.
Switch Pro + a pair of Drift Con Pro
According to an intern at Bloomberg that gets paid in contributor’s copies, Hamster is holding out on Raiden so that they can utilise the graphical improvements of the Switch Pro.
I wonder why nobody has ever thought of Switch X (cross). If we tend to consider Pro because of PS4, why not that as well for Xbox? In fact, it sounds cool. Better than Pro.
Switch Standard
Switch Lite
Switch Cross
Just call it Schnitz. I'm sure Nintendo can cop the copyright strike.
Super Nintendo Switch = Switch 2
I think New Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Deluxe sounds likely
How about this: New Super Nintendo Switch Bros. U Deluxe.
I hope it’s Super Nintendo Switch, but I would also accept Nintendo Switch Advance.
Nintendo Switch Boost
King Diddy Switch
I hope its called Super Nintendo Switch but I think they will call it Nintendo Switch XL or New Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo Switch Plus
Super Nintendo Switch
Idk honestly
The Switch Boy
Alot think it will be like the NES to SNES...aka NS to SNS. That would be classic naming.
New Nintendo Switch Pro
I “want” it to be the Super Nintendo Switch, however I “think” it will be the New Nintendo Switch, going by early pages from Amazon that occurred.
Nintendo will go down the simple route and market it as NS2, which rolls off the tongue rather easily,
"Hey heard you bought an NS2 it any good?"
This will also solve any future problems regarding new hardware branding,
NS3 NS4 NS5 and so on,
Smartphones have been using this system (letter/s then a number/s) for a long time which the consumers are quite happy with
Nintendo Switch BDE
@COVIDberry
Not shamelessly pandering, I promise! Just voiced my honest opinion is all. Great minds...! 😁
But I’d say some kind of updated console name is inevitable, not just a SKU change like the redbox Switch. 5 years in, there’ll be more ambitious upgrades this time, right?
I’d rather Switch Plus than NEW Switch - just too generic! “Switch 2” seems too souless for Nintendo.
Either way, wait and see!
We call it the “Swith” in my family anyway, after my older kiddo misspelled the word in sharpie on her carry case. 😊
I think the best possible choice would be "SWITCH PRO". It's not a successor to Switch, so Switch 2 wouldn't make any sense. They don't want a "WiiU" debacle again, but knowing Nintendo, they will ***** it up one way or the other. Ultimately, NEW Nintendo Switch will probably be the final name. It's exactly the type of goofy move that the dinosaur executives at NCL will make.
Breath of the Switch ^^
Nintendo Switch Deluxe?
Since it's a replacement system and still very much a Switch, they won't want to diminish the existing model or the Lite as obsolete so forget ideas like "Super" or even a "Switch 2". Judging by the last similar update, I suspect New Switch like they did with New 3DS, with "New" sort of a marketing prefix. It could still very much stay as "Switch". Or they could find a new name to give it context to the Lite. So the Switch Plus or Switch Deluxe (as mentioned by bmumble above). In fact, Lite and Deluxe makes so much sense when you think about it, with Deluxe referring to both the differentiation and the improvement.
What about the “Switch Up”
Yknow like Switching it up or an UPgrade??
I want it to be called Super Nintendo Switch.
It'll probably be New Nintendo Switch though
The ninten dos switch. It's got twice the power for tres the cost. It gotta a Spanish flavor to it.
I really hope they don't follow the crowd with the term 'Pro'.
Every company seems to be using it these days and it still makes no sense whatsoever.
either switch + or new switch +
Switch HD Turbo Remix Plus Alpha, Featuring Dante from Devil May Cry
i think it be just called switch 2 and actual release around 2023.
@F_T_Wolf definitely should be Switch+
Switch drift
I keep thinking about the core marketing for the Nintendo Switch. That red screen where the second Joycon snaps down with the iconic click. I just don't think they're going to change that completely, just for a new model.
Nintendo Switch+ evokes more of a modest refresh, and can easily be popped in after the Joycon snap in the marketing videos.
@Ziondood Dammit, one odd leap of logic(?) later and now I'm thinking it should be called "Lilo and Switch."
Nintendo Switch Platinum
@BloodNinja hahah! That was me. P-Switch would be fun if they did it. I’m thinking the name would have to reflect the hardware or upgraded features. I think calling it the Pro, is too Sony-like and too normal for Nintendo to do.
XL reflected the size upgrade.
U was to represent being more of a personal component rather than Wii being a together thing.
Super and Advance were next in line systems that were better than previous.
New was better in the same era.
3DS and 2DS were expansions of the DS idea.
So whatever this new Switch is going to feature, it will reflect in the name.
Bigger - XL.
Higher Def - HD.
Improved - New.
More power?
P-Switch.
Thundar Switch
Well, Switch Lite telegraphs its permenant undocking and says it's friendly to portable players, who make up a huge portion of Switch players. So the next Switch will need a name that tells why we have another version, what it does, and how it relates to you.
Since we have no real data, all we can do is guess. I think most of us are expecting better horsepower, since that was the key difference between the 3DS and the New Nintendo 3DS. Pro works because it implies the console has matured and can handle new things the old one couldn't. Menus, apps, non-drifting joycons.. If they wanted a more snazzy name.. Switch Up. The word synergy is there, and it effectively says exactly what + and Pro do. This, but more of it. And it sounds refreshing. So yeah.
Nintendo Switch Up.
I think Super Nintendo Switch
With a purple color scheme!!
Love if it references the SNES
I think they'll work off the Switch Lite's name and call it the "Nintendo Switch i." like DSi
Whatever it's called, I'm just hoping it's a big enough upgrade that a lot of games can get performance patches. I'm thinking mostly of the Panic Button ports and Bowser's Fury. Bowser's Fury at 60 FPS in handheld would be nice. For games like Doom Eternal I'd just hope for higher resolution and more graphical detail. I'm not sure 60 FPS would be within reach for that game.
Whatever this bigger version is called, if they want to capitalize off of the bigger screen and better specs, they'll hire Lizzo to promote it the U.S.
@Itsacardgame Yes!! There you are. FULL CREDIT TO THIS GUY
I don’t think they’d call it a “Pro” at all. This is a gaming device, not a PC.
Subtle upgrade. Maybe something as simple as: Swiitch.
Love the name ‘Super Nintendo Switch’ but I think it’ll be ‘New Nintendo Switch’
The Art of the Switch.
Just kidding, I'm placing bets on New Nintendo Switch.
Super Nintendo Switch implies a full successor to me like the SNES or 3DS from DS. We'll see I suppose.
Nintendo Switch Nitro
@earthinheritor Agreed! New 3DS was terrible for online shopping. Searching for ‘accessories for the New 3DS’ gets a lot of results for ‘new accessories for the 3DS’. Or looking for a ‘used New 3DS’ gets results for a ‘used 3DS like new’. Both of those will get lots of results for older models of the 3DS, specifically what you are not looking for.
It is a first world problem, but easily avoided by better naming conventions.
@SuperCharr @GrailUK NX Pro. 😉
New Super Nintendo Switch Ultra Pro Plus Advanced Deluxe Revolution U i XL 4K Edition & Knuckles with New Funky Mode.
On a more serious note, I reckon they’ll be boring and just call it the New Nintendo Switch. Although, I’d like them to have the new word after “Nintendo Switch”, for consistency sake.
Switch Life Cycle Impulse
It will continue to be called a rumor.
The “Just release it and get it over with” Switch
The Nintendo NX of course.
I still think it is a supercharged dock that does the upscaling with a minor system revision like the Mariko one with a better screen and battery life. USB Type C has enough bandwidth if the dock is doing the upscaling.
The OoGhiJ MIQtxxXa
More seriously, am expecting it to be "New" Switch...as much as I'd prefer them to use something else.
Clickedy Clacker Snap Snap Master. But there's only one system that can use "Master" in it's title and that's the Sega Master System. So not to sure.
The "Switch Up".
Wow, I voted Super Nintendo Switch thinking it would surely be in 3rd place or lower, but looks like lots of people really think that’s what it’ll be, or like me, just prefer it to “pro” or “new,” even though I suspect it’ll be something dumb like that. I guess pro is fine, whatever.
DX or LX would be better I think. Or Nintendo Switch Fat.
The switch snitch. You heard it here first.
Its called Switch2.
SwitchER .. extra radical
Switch Ultra!
If it actually exists It'll be called "The Nintendo Switch On",
Because Nintendo will try and give us some shtick about how It'll turn everyone ON to gaming or whatever.
It's gonna be stupid, we all know it.
Super Nintendo Switch for the win
@Faucet
The, "Bait 'N' Switch".
Sounds like a Thursday to me
Super Nintendo Switch sounds cool to my ears but I'm not sure it would do well with a marketing team because last time Nintendo put 'Super' in front of a system, it was a brand new system.
New Nintendo Switch makes sense based on previous Nintendo naming conventions and it helps understand that it's still Nintendo Switch is still the same series but it's the new version.
The trouble with Nintendo Switch+ would be other companies use this moniker to indicate a bigger screen size so could cause confusion.
If I was a betting person, I'd bet on 'New'.
Dave.
Not the Nintendo Dave. Just Dave.
@playoldgames Frank, for more masculinity. Not the toxic one. The good one.
@anoyonmus Imagine it's 8K capable and retails for 600!
Switch DX. Mark my words
@Razer Wasn’t there a fan reveal trailer of a next gen console called the Nintendo ON back in the Revolution days? (Early ‘06 probably)
Seemed cool at the time. There was so much hype leading up to the awesome GameCube’s successor... and then we got another GameCube with a weird controller. 😅
(I was all in on the Wii at the time, don’t get me wrong lol.)
Either Switch Advance or Switch EVO
Nintendo sWiitch
Waggle anywhere. Waggle everywhere.
Again.
@BlubberWhale yeah probably lol,
Whatever they decide to do though, im sure it'll sound silly, they are terrible with their naming.
Although to be fair, the Switch was is actually spot on, if they stick with this line and maybe call an upgraded model "The Super Switch" id be pleasantly surprised.
Nintendo Switch+
Super Nintendo VITA
Nintendo Switch Turbo: Hyper Fighting
@Razer I totally agree. Expecting “weird,” hoping for cool or at least serviceable and straightforward.
Hmmm... I reckon it'll be "Switch Omega" or "Omega Switch"
Nintendo SwitchUp
Nintendo Switch+
Nintendo Switch DX
But really, I'm always expecting Nintendo to come up with an unexpected name.
Personally, I'd LOVE for it to be called Super Switch, but ONLY if it was actually a new system altogether, and not just a refresh.
@Tandy255 I worked in a retail store when the NEW 3ds came out and before that Apple did it with New iPhone and NEW iPod.
i work retail now but corporate side.
Products named NEW are horrific to work with. Customers are confused and have no idea what version they have. Marketing it on a website is just as painful because its all named new or by the year. Its bad for everyone.
@Pod I dont know why but i like DX haha
It will be the "New Nintendo Switch MISB RARE"
I'm now thinking the name 'New Nintendo Switch' makes the most sense since the Amazon Mexico leak. I had being preferring Switch Plus as a new name, but if you apply that to the Lite you end up with 'Switch Lite Plus'. Which is a bit stupid, to be honest
I depends if there's any performance update. If it's just the same Switch with a bigger screen and ethernet in the dock then I'd say it will get a minor revision in name, like Switch Plus.
If it's more powerful I'll go with New Switch, to avoid any confusion over what it is in somparison to the old one. As for Switch Pro, it's what the rumours have been calling it, so I don't think they'll use it really.
My money is on "Nintendo Switch XL"
please be Super Nintendo Switch, would be an amazing call back and people would culturally understand it.
let the " New ' thing die
Nintendo Switch Lite Pro
I sure hope it turns out to be "Nintendo Switch +Cats"!
I don't like the Super Nintendo Switch name. Besides, the Super Nintendo was much better: It had joypad's that worked (no drifting) and a much better line-up of first party games.
It's going to be called...
Nintendo Switch
Considering Pro would be a weird atribute to a device used for entertainment, I can only think it will be called: Nintendo Switch Amateur, showing it is a console to be loved.
Nintendo Switch Max!
Obviously it will be called the iSuper Switch Pro 360. Obviously.
The Nintendo Sweetch
