@Ventilator Yeah, you still have to use the Wii remote with Wii games. I suppose you could set up a stand in your bathroom and prop up the Game Pad on it and play on the toilet that way. But that would suck.

It’s Dragon Quest XI S for me. I finally started up the post-game section, only to discover, the post-game is just more game! What an absolute delight that game is. I’ve put over 140 hours into it, and just when I think I’ve seen everything there is to see, it finds some new way of surprising and delighting me. If you have ANY interest in JRPGs, you owe it to yourself to play it.

Well, on the one hand, region locking sucks. But on the other hand, I can’t imagine any China-exclusive games that I would care about, so I guess in the end I feel pretty neutral about this.

@Coxula It’s a straight JRPG. If you’ve played a Persona or Shin Megami Tensei game you know what to expect.

Ah I can’t wait for this. I played about 10 hours of the Wii U version, but I got distracted by other stuff and never finished it. I loved what I played, though, and can’t wait to give it another shot! Less than 2 weeks left!

If I can only pick one, it has to be Xenoblade Chronicles X. I still intend to finish it someday, and I would rather do so on the Switch.

I really don’t understand the obsession with themes. The menu is just a way to get to the next game I want to play. I would rather Nintendo spend their resources making great games instead of making themes that I’ll look at for half a second at a time.

I had an Xbox One when I bought my Switch, but a year later I sold it. I just vastly preferred playing on the Switch. In fact, I played Wolfenstein II on Xbox One first, and hated it, and for some reason bought it again on Switch, but I loved it on the Switch! That was the moment I knew I was done with Xbox.

@Seananigans Maybe? I’m not a businessman. But making a game costs money. Continuing to sell a game that’s already made costs significantly less money. Why spend money to make a new game when the old game that you originally released five years ago is the third best selling game of the year in a major market?

Someday, maybe, we will learn what Retro was working on between Tropical Freeze and Metroid Prime 4.

And this is why we won’t see Mario Kart 9 anytime soon. It makes no business sense to release a new game when the old game keeps selling like a new game.

I disagree. The Switch home menu is great. You wanna play a different game, you press left, you press A, you press R (if they’re not already arranged by title), and then you scroll down to the game you want. Honestly it would take more time to hunt through a folder. I have over 180 games on my Switch, and I’ve never had a problem getting to the game I want almost instantly. The only change I wish they’d make is an option to arrange games in the order they came out, but aside from that? It’s perfect. I hope they never change it.

@jarvismp Don’t forget that GTA V was originally an Xbox 360 game. There is absolutely no reason why that game couldn’t run on the Switch.

Honestly the third party games I want on Switch the most are from the last gen (Mass Effect Trilogy, Fallout 3/New Vegas, Persona 5), so the Witcher 3 doesn’t change anything in my mind about whether the games I want could run on the Switch. I already knew they could, it’s just a matter of whether or not the companies that own them think they could make money off of porting them to Switch. But if we want to talk about current gen games I want to see on Switch, I would definitely not say no to a port of Nier Automata.

A year ago we didn’t even know the Witcher III was coming to Switch, and now it was my most played game of 2019. I can’t wait to see what 2020 brings!

@birthbysorrow Even reasonable complaints can be expressed in an unreasonable way. I’m playing Pokémon Sword right now, and I’ll be the first to admit the game is far from perfect. I can understand being disappointed by the game and wishing Game Freak would improve it. But so many of the comments I’ve seen, both here and elsewhere, are from people acting like Game Freak OWES them a perfect game, and that’s what bothers me.

Also, Astral Chain is amazing and it brings me joy to hear about other people loving it.

@jowe_gw It’s okay if you don’t like Pokémon Sword and Shield, but people act like Game Freak is personally insulting them by not making a game that adheres to their exact requirements in every way, and that’s silly. If you don’t like it, don’t play it, and move on. There are literally hundreds of thousands of video games in the world right now. Find something you like and focus on that instead. I guarantee you’ll be a much happier person.

I don’t know how The Witcher III doesn’t at least get a runner-up nod for best physical release. I buy all my games digitally, but I was SERIOUSLY considering getting a physical copy of the Witcher III because it was such a dope package.

FINALLY somebody gives Astral Chain it’s due! That game absolutely deserves more GOTY nods than it got, and the fact that you guys ranked Astral Chain so high ALMOST convinces me to forgive you for ranking Three Houses so low.

I played, uh, 1687 hours. I don’t know if I’m proud of that or embarrassed by it.

@ALinkttPresent As far as I know, it’s not reluctance, it’s that every game sold in China has to go through a government approval process, and NSMBU is the only Switch game that has passed so far.

What a shame. I thought this looked really cool when they showed it off on one of the indie videos, but I’m definitely going to pass now.

I’ve put almost 150 hours into it so far, and I’m still blown away that I’m playing a game as big and expansive and beautiful as the Witcher III on a handheld console. Dang, I love the Switch.

I can’t remember who else said it, but there was someone other than Imran Khan who said that Metroid Prime Trilogy for Switch is basically done, Nintendo is just waiting to release it until Metroid Prime 4 is closer to release. I don’t know if that’s true, but it makes sense. As for a Super Metroid remake, again, I can’t remember where I heard it, but I have heard other people say that Nintendo has multiple Metroid projects in the works. I’ve never heard of LeakyPandy, but they are certainly not the only ones saying stuff like this. Here’s hoping it’s true. I could certainly go for more Metroid.

Thought maybe this would scratch that Bioshock itch, but guess not. Time to go take it off my wish list.

So many great games in Bethesda’s back catalog, and we’re getting this crap instead. Sigh.

Okay, fine, I’ll buy this. Still not happy about the lack of a Switch version of P5, but this does look really good.

I guess the biggest Nintendo-related series is Pikmin. I’ve never played a Pikmin game. Never had any interest back in the GameCube days, and while I do have Pikmin 3, I never got around to playing it, and I doubt I ever will now. Unless it comes to Switch of course.

I can’t help it, I’m going to buy it anyway. I loved the first game on PS2, but then the second got bad reviews, so I never bothered with it, and then haven’t played a Devil May Cry game since. After 15 years of people going on about how bad 2 it is, I must try it for myself, and hopefully if Capcom is releasing the DMC game that everyone hates, they’ll release the rest of the series as well.

I swear I played this on the OG Xbox and had the opposite experience. I enjoyed it up until I got the lightsaber, and then I COULD NOT figure out how to get the lightsaber to work. Maybe I’m just dumb. I’ll probably pass on this anyway. Too many good games to play as it is.

What you do is you lift up the flap at the base of the stick with tweezers, stick the nozzle underneath, spray a tiny little bit, circle the stick around a few times to spread it out, and then let it sit for an hour or so to dry. I did this for 3 joy cons that were drifting, and they all work great now.

Electrical contact cleaner spray. Seriously, I had drift on three of my joy cons, and I used electrical contact cleaner spray on them, and they all work good as new. I don’t know why this solution isn’t more widely known.

I was afraid of this. I’ll probably still pick this up at some point, cause I loved these games back in the day, but hopefully the developer fixes some of these issues before I do.
