In the older, pre-gen V games, I'll usually nickname Pokémon, bar legendaries, that are in my team. Really, I only do it because I don't like how the name's in caps lock in those games. Will I nickname my Pokémon in Violet? Probably not. It's just too much effort and doesn't look right in a modern game to see "Go! Typhoon!"
@PewnyPL Not that I'm happy about it either, but to be fair, the official English Pokémon Twitter spoilt it before it's aired in English. NL only did their job and reported what's official.
Why do I find this so difficult?!
New Leaf, to me at least, seems better at expressing the best of every animal crossing game before it. Bar your mayoral role, it doesn't do too much to shake up the formula and that's fine. It still feels like a life sim.
New Horizons on the other hand is quite the opposite. It stripped back on the personality of your villagers and other things, to make way for the ability to express yourself better than ever before.
If I had to choose, New Horizons is the better game, just because of the ability to customise your island, but I find it endearing how down-to-earth New Leaf is compared to it.
EDIT: Reading through some of the comments so far, I still agree with both sides of the argument. New Leaf does feel more complete, what with the interactivity with villagers and minigames. But New Horizons does so much more to make things user-friendly and easier to play. Again, by this technicality, I see New Horizons to be the better game, but New Leaf is excellent in its own rights.
@AlanaHagues "against the wall to squeeze past the other cards." Think you made a typo there. Honestly, that's just so crazy! Guess it shows just how influential games can be on our lives.
All-in-all, definitely seems like we're getting mixed feelings about this game so far. That said, I don't really care about stuff like graphics and frame rate, so long as it doesn't make the game unplayable or disrupt gameplay too bad.
No argument here and the poll clearly agrees. The Japanese one is definitely the best. Featuring the art style that we all know and love. It's not even that the wide box art makes it better, it's just that the other two doesn't really feel as well-polished.
@EarthboundBenjy Same lol. Of course I listen to actual music every now and then, but I never keep up with the latest songs. Most of the time I just listen to video game music.
You want me to pick just one. Do you have any idea how impossible of a task that is? If I had to pick, probably the grand finale from bowsers inside story
Now I want to play animal crossing again! @FishyS We don't use fall at all in the UK. It's just autumn here. I honestly thought you guys just used fall in the US.
Coming soon: the all-new DLC to complete your "Bathroom Simulator" adventure. The "Worldwide Flush" DLC will open out your experience beyond your wildest dreams. Exchange your typical western toilet for an eastern squat toilet! Swap that sink for a bidet! You could even just strip your bathroom to its basics and create an outhouse! Yes, all this and more await you in "Bathroom Simulator: Worldwide Flush"! Coming soon to all major consoles (maybe... Probably not...)!
Sakurai's videos are definitely helping me get more insight into the world of game development and I'm grateful for that. Here's to the continuing growth of his channel!
Wow. They both actually have good designs. But I think the Splatoon one is better, the colours and designs blend in well with the switch, whereas the Pokémon one looks too bold.
This is the only time I've seen the bigger Japanese box look more cluttered than the international ones.
I'm not too familiar with the metal gear series, but the European one appeals to me more. Can't put my finger on why. I just like it better than the rest.
Yeah, I know it's not the most impressive Pokémon aesthetically, but for some reason it stands out to me. Seriously, try using it in a casual playthrough and it will flip your experience.
Honestly, I absolutely loved the trailer, the four-player mode alone would've been enough to sell it to me personally. Despite that, I can't help but feel somewhat skeptical about it. I don't know why, this actually looks amazing.
Ever heard of galaxy racers? No? Don't blame you. It was a fairly obscure game released for the DS in 2010 and published by Ubisoft.
It's not the obscurity of the game that makes it valuable to me, nor the fact that the box art is nowhere near accurate to the game. It's the fact that that as a 7/8 year old I found it fun, and when I played it recently I found it just as fun, something I don't find often with most games.

Don't get me wrong. Most of the designs seem decent. But Sprigatito's definitely top cat still in my books.
