In the mid 2010’s I was addicted to looking for cheap Famicom titles on EBay. Crossfire complete and mint in box $35, Crisis Force complete $80, Famicom cart lots $10-35. I realize this is gloating but at the same it was absolutely wonderful to see the catalog of Famicom exclusives and experience them for the first time. I feel in love with a ton of games that I never realized existed the first time I loved the NES.

Yeah, the wording seems more in line with saving face on their brand than admitting fault on behalf of Dispatch. Hopefully there will be positive results from this but yikes, Dispatch has dug themselves a hole.

Namco where’s my Dark Souls 2 Switch? Seems like they gave up there.

I actually have this for PC Engine. It’s a solid game and I hope they take it as more than a joke.

I’m lost for words. I remember last weekend thinking this was the official two year anniversary of my order being placed and it was time to cancel the order. Then “magically “ the email arrived saying good news Game Paradise codes go out on Friday. I was honestly shocked and for once I had some faith in these guys. So Friday arrives and j/k. I think they literally knew the anniversary date of the preorder going live would jar some people to finally cancel and sent out the first email to dangle a carrot with no plan of actual follow up.

And Suda, thank you. No more heroes was the Wii game I wanted. A game where a flourish of Wiimote leveled a playing field. I bow to you and our toilet god Travis Touchdown.

Go for it. I’ve never been disappointed by DQ titles but at the same time there is the fear of a samey product.

Eventually I hope to get one. My son has become a huge Zelda fan ( just beat OoT 3DS today) and I was hoping to get one to add to his Zelda amiibo collection. Good news for scalpers I guess…..

That article was revealing. I’ve consistently worried the company was financially bust and just trying to string along as far as they could. They’ve seemingly deleted their Facebook and Twitter comments and from that article a number of prior business choices went bust with out comment. I really just want my games as I love shooters but the time to get a refund (huh!) is probably now.

I applaud Nintendo for more girl friendly IPs. Now use all that Zelda horse gameplay experience to make a actual good riding game for girls. Seriously gold mine.

Genuinely saddened they never tasked M2 to port the games to 3DS. There were some decent titles for the system, the hardware itself was the awkward part.

Looks good, I’ll wait for a review on how the gameplay stacks up.

I preordered this and Radigry the day they went live....nearly two years ago. Back in February they sent out another email saying we’re sorry and games will be releasing starting in March. Riiiiiiight. If by some miracle I get my games I will not deal with this company again.

Back in the days of game rental the Turbografx version of R-Type sold me on the system. The Super CD version with its crazed soundtrack (the tractor noises at the start of stage 3!) was fantastic too.

@Lukeim64 I agree. Recall several moments from the demo where it felt I wasn’t in the same post code as the bullet that dropped me. The game is functional but lacks anything special. The insane number of ships wasn’t a aspect of the original Final that I cared for. Balancing a few fighters versus a entire slip shot fleet.....

Totally agree with the controllers. A quality packin analog controller is probably more than the N wants to commit to on top of more powerful hardware to emulate the games and extra memory.

@jikflet each their own man, it’s pretty overt, especially in line with other Cave works. Muchi Muchi Pork, Pink Sweets, and Dodonpachi’s “dolls” scream fan service, Deathsmiles “Lolis” have more than a few creepy design/art choices.

Death smiles is quality, like a lot of Cave titles I’m not a fan of the fanservice designs but still a polished title.

Finally. Waiting now for Curious George to do a crossover with Planet of the Apes.

Still deeply annoyed F-Zero missed the 3DS. Granted Nintendo kinda gave up on the 3D aspect but I always thought F-Zero would have been great use of the systems gimmick.

That is unexpected, I think I still have a copy of the original lying around somewhere.

My system definitely overheats. We got a cooling fan for docked mode which helps a bit but I really dont feel it’s overly taxed to begin with. Otherwise joy con drift was common, we sent in our controllers and one still went back to drifting. Most notably I’ve found the third party A1 controllers are absolutely horrible. I have 4 from various Walmart clearance sales that died within months of use. I hope the Switch Pro is heartier than this.

Totally forgot about this. Definitely will make time for it. Though I enjoy watching Nintendo Directs they’ve never been the same since Iwata’s passing. One of the few people in the game industry that I idolize.

Halo Anniversary Switch pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaassssseeeeeeee!

I enjoyed some of the games but seriously the paper, rock, scissor parts weren’t great.

Mixed feelings. Performance and gameplay is overall solid, plus for a boss who has appeared numerous times this iteration was still fresh. Overall though the vision of the game seems more to imitate the pre-existing material instead of a strong identity. And I really hope stage 1 isn’t the strongest stage just to get players in. Otherwise just give us Final 1 on Switch.

Smart idea actually. The aftermarket price of this shot up quite a bit. Gives existing players and people still trying to find copy another chance.

Cool. Thought the trailer’s mechanics looked too refined for a April Fools joke. Now Platinum please sell me on the download.

Not a big fan of the Cresta games (PC Engine part 2 was decent). Doubting this is an joke, looks like actual thought was put into combining and arranging of fighters for different attacks. Here’s hoping it actually comes out.

Wow. That’s great. At this stage of the systems life I totally would’ve expected them to drop the game without 3D (aka be happy you’re getting it at all). I agree completely with the poster that Nintendo botched it with Virtual Boy games on 3DS. Yeah the system was a failure and released at the wrong time, burying its legacy on the one console it could have been resurrected on seemed trite. Of course Nintendo’s few 3D classic releases seemed to follow little rhyme or reason as few of the games were really suited for stereoscopic 3D. Thank you Sega for at least stepping up with their own 3D classics line.

I love shooters (particularly 16-32 bit era) so this was a no brainer. Nice little surprise!

Super Robot Taisen was pretty awesome for the Cowboy Bebop/Outlaw Star style narrative. Good choice.

Strange Journey was one of the best RPGs I’ve ever played. The combination of SMT with last ditch military operation storyline was fantastic.

I’m glad to see Nintendo pursue some IPs aimed squarely at girls. Not everything needs to be quirky indie or serious AAA crap. Another example with the glut of poor horse games out there I always thought the N could steal BotW horse mechanics and whip up something for girls infinitely more polished.

I like the direction Suda went with the plot, there is so much room for him to warp our fragile minds with Travis hunting down intergalactic criminals.

Highlight of the direct for me, I was totally expecting this to be a limited release that would end up out by next Christmas. Very excited.

Fire n Ice is a fun puzzler. I’ve always wanted to try out Psycho Dream, never got a US release.

As long as it was performs well I’m in. The overall design/art isn’t quite winning me over like the first game though.

Reminds me of a early Neo Geo game like Magician Lord. Definitely interested.
