Travis Touchdown is quite the character, but what would his own television or movie be like? While we're yet to see such a thing, apparently there's been a number of proposals for it in the past.
Speaking to IGN, Suda51 mentioned how he was still "hoping" to transform No More Heroes and the world-famous assassin into a show or film one day - ideally with one of the more popular streaming services. It turns out there have even been some offers in the past but they never really got up and running. Here's exactly what he had to say (thanks, Nintendo Everything):
“I’ve actually had a lot of offers and proposals for a No More Heroes movie or TV show over the years, and as of yet, not a single one has come to fruition. No wait – to be exact, one of them actually came really close, but ended up not working out. We had actually gone so far as to decide on the actor to play the main character, but it never made it into production. But anyway, we get proposals like that all the time, so one of these days I’m hoping that we’ll be able to make that dream a reality, and give everyone the No More Heroes movie or TV show that they want maybe on Amazon Prime or Netflix or something.”
With the rise in popularity of video game movies and television series, as well as the upcoming release of No More Heroes III, perhaps Travis Touchdown will finally get another shot at becoming a film or TV star.

No More Heroes as a movie would be like Deadpool's humor mixed with the violence of something like Sin City
That sounds amazing actually
Yeah, I can see that happening for sure. All I need is animation with the same voice actor, and I'm good to go. It should make for good entertainment if done right.
I think a No More Heroes animated movie would do really well especially with its humor and weirdness. I feel like a tv series though would be kind of pushing it, I'd rather a nice 2 hour long action packed romp instead of trying to tell a grand story over many episodes, I can just play the games if I want a longer experience.
I would not watch that. I liked the boss fights in his games but everything about its style is so annoying to me. I can't imagine watching a No More Hereos show. Ugh.
That Fu and Damon backstory trailer was great btw, "The Return"
Would be interesting to see how it would turn out as a full-length movie or a show

@MeloMan this would be great I'd kinda like to see a TV show tbh, an episode dedicated to Travis' odd jobs would be golden
I think a movie that filled in some blanks or connected some dots would be cool. A series? Maybe. Depends on how well they approached the overall plot.
I don't really trust Netflix creatively these days, but if Suda had total creative control, Netflix would have the production muscle to make it look great.
@TheFrenchiestFry I would be more then okay with that.
@CactusMan Huh?
@Dragwhite ok,but only if the scorpions are no smaller then 6 ft
suda 51 is too ambitious does he really think this will carry? the games are ok but making it into a movie with the niche fanbase i don't think it will go very well 🤔🤔🤔
I’d watch it! *Typing in extra words because NL thinks my comment is to short. *
YES!!!! I need both.
I’m actually amazed how this is not a Netflix anime.
And Suda, thank you. No more heroes was the Wii game I wanted. A game where a flourish of Wiimote leveled a playing field. I bow to you and our toilet god Travis Touchdown.
Oh yeaaaah! I'm getting more hyped every day for NMH III. A movie would be great!
A reality show, you say?
This will be though one. TV Show it will have to come from Netflix (which will be a Animation), Movie, then someone like James Gunn or Taika Waititi. And let the script come from Eric Pearson and Christopher Yost!
Then this might work out...
