Previously revealed to be coming to "all relevant" platforms, Team Reptile's Bomb Rush Cyberfunk has now been confirmed for a Nintendo Switch release and it's lined up for sometime in 2022 as a 'timed console exclusive'.
With the release window announced as part of today's rather spicy Nintendo Indie World Showcase, the game — which feels for all the world like a sequel to the Dreamcast's mighty Jet Set Radio — is firmly in the 'spiritual sequel' bracket and isn't related to Sega's iconic tag-skater at all. It sure seems to capture the visual sense of style that game had, though!
You can check out the new trailer for yourself above and pretend like we're back living in the colourful, comparatively innocent world of the year 2000.

I'm excited!! Even if others aren't.
Team Reptile making the Jet Set/Grind Radio that Segadon't.
See, with Beat being in Monkey Ball...I think I'm going to wait and see what SEGA are doing.
Wait was it always called Cyberfunk? I swear I thought it was Bombrush Cyberpunk but funk makes so much more sense in retrospect. Either way I'm looking forward to it, that trailer looked great!
Cant wait this!
JET SET RAAAAAADIO vibes!
Here we go! Just the kind of game to light up the video game scene. Cyberfunk all the way!
This looks amazing. I'm hoping the soundtrack is just as funky as Jet Set Radio's
Insta-buy! I still play Jet Set Radio all the time on the Dreamcast, so a spiritual successor is something I really want to play.
Vibes nothing. This is straight up “if Sega isn’t going to make more JSR we will”.
Need reviews but definitely interested for obvious reasons!
Never really played JSR but I loved Team Reptile's previous game, Lethal League Blaze, so I have high hopes for this one. At the very least, they still have the style points down. That trailer is so, so good.
The only indie game I’m interested in from that direct
@Bizzyb According to Nintendo's Twitter, it will have music composed by Hideki Naganuma. Plus other artists as well
@Kadosho Oh wow, In that case it pretty much makes it an instant buy for me. Thanks!
If I had a dollar every time someone has tried to sell me on a new game like this with "Jet Set Radio vibes."
That said this is the closest one, but it still seems to be based around running as opposed to skating. These games always turn out to feel more like a platformer than anything, feeling more Sonic Adventure 2 than JSR.
No, I don't like reading through that third paragraph...
This game looks cool. I'm interested on the gameplay too.
Random but does anyone else notice that game knockout City literally has lines copied word for word from jet set radio from the radio guy I wasn't a huge fan of that game but that made me laugh is that even legal
MY JET IS SET AND READY TO GOOOOO.
Sega you neglected this series, so big up to Team Reptile making Bomb Rush CyberFunk!
@Bizzyb you're welcome
