During the latest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate presentation, the game's director Masahiro Sakurai revealed multiple new Mii Fighter costumes coming to the game (there's even a Chocobo hat). These are the eighth lot to be added to the game!
We've got the Final Fantasy VII crew joining Cloud and Sephiroth, a returning Chocobo hat, and Geno from Super Mario RPG - yes, we're not joking! He's actually in Smash Bros. Ultimate now. Well, kind of... and this isn't the first time he's appeared as a costume in the series.

Take a look at all of these outfits below:
Barret - Gunner Outfit (Final Fantasy VII)

Tifa - Brawler Outfit (Final Fantasy VII)

Aerith (Swordfighter Outfit (Final Fantasy VII)

Chocobo Hat (Final Fantasy)

Geno - Gunner Outfit (Super Mario RPG)

These Mii Outfits are available for $0.75 each. Keep in mind, this is a standalone purchase and is not included with the Fighters Pass or Fighter Pass Vol. 2. Will you be dressing up as any of the Final Fantasy crew or Geno? Tell us down below.

At least a thousand dreams have been crushed today. But in return a thousand more has been granted.
And can't wait for @Not-Geno's comment.
I'm better than you
I'm so surprised that they added these FFVII characters as Mii fighters, never thought they'd allow this much, but I'm glad it happened.
You know it'd be neat if you could assign a victory theme to your Mii fighter so they could have the FFVII one.. same for others of course.
I didn't watch the presentation so I didn't realize they did a Mii costume for Geno again. Hey, I'll take it! I always have fun assigning custom specials and trying to get as close to the source material as I can.
@Not-Geno I mean I can't argue with that.
@Not-Geno You monster...but I can't deny your truth.
Guys, he never had a shot. He wasn't the main character of a beloved retro series like Banjo, or a major villain of multiple games like Ridley and K. Rool. He was just a side character in a single game that you could remove from the party and never use again. Face it, Barret was never going to be a fighter.
I'll probably grab these Mii costumes which will be a first for me
Aerith’s costume + Sephiroth’s down air = perfect screenshot
Rip geno fans. I never played Mario RPG but I think he would have been a cool character.
I laughed so hard when Mii Geno was announced knowing how many fans just lost the race once again LOL
So Geno was a costume as well in the Wii U version? That’s ok....he’s technically still “in the game” and one step above an assist trophy. I was also happy to see Bomberman get that recognition.
I’m just hoping for either a Mortal Kombat and a Double Dragon appearance and I’ll be a very satisfied Smash Bros. fan.
Initial thought at seeing that Geno costume; “2020 is going to end with nerds burning the world”.
@Magrane You are right. Better than an assist trophy. I'll pour one out for my Isaac homies.
I aint paying for the geno costume again.
I kinda figured geno wasn't gonna make it in as a fighter but im glad to see him represented on some form.
Now can we get outfits for characters like Erik or Jade from DQ11? Hell a Mordegon mii costume would be badass.
they look weird sorta
@Thexare Thank you, I love doing the pronoun game.
I hope Nintendo releases the Mii costumes all in a bundle at some point. I wouldn’t mind paying for it if they did one.
I wish Geno included the forest music track they played. Oh well.
As a Geno fan this hurts. But if the past has taught me anything its that anything goes in Smash. There is nothing official that says Mii Costume characters can't make it as fully playable character. Sakurai and his team keep breaking all of these "fan rules" so I wouldn't be surprised if they break the mii costume rule that so many people think is a thing. Its not, the only rule for Smash thats official is that the character has to originate from a video game (RIP Goku and Grinch fans). I know its incredibly unlikely at this point but let's wait until the final character is revealed before we consider this a case closed
With all this FF7 treatment hopefully now we can get more than just 2 soundtracks, right?
@shonenjump86
They're adding 9 for a total of 11. Four of which are remixes and some taken directly from Advent Children.
@shonenjump86 There is now a total of 11 tracks lol woo....
Barret was one of my favorite characters in FF7R right behind Cloud. Very happy to see him in smash!
@drewber2635 @JR150 oh ok, didn’t know that. Appreciate the heads up.
Geno as a costume and not an actual playable character should be some kind of war crime somewhere.
@nessisonett "Aerith’s costume + Sephiroth’s down air = perfect screenshot"
You monster. 😥
Barret and Tifa may be purchased, they really fit their Miis, but Aerith never fought with a sword and I don't need old wounds reopened. But maybe just to complete the set.
Geno got the invitation, but when he came and saw sephiroth, he was like " nahh its not worth it" 🤣
I'm still hoping for a mii fighter bundle.
The hard truth is that not many people even care about Geno to begin with.
I'm sorry, but I'm so happy that Geno isn't coming. While a lot of people were sad that Sephiroth's confirmation, more or less, deconfirmed Geno, I was sad that it essentially the same for Sora
@drewber2635 The problem with that is that it wouldn't be a very good business practice to sell the costume and later announce that Geno is playable. If it was a costume in the base game then maybe but they wouldn't have even have bothered making the DLC costume if they knew he would be playable anyway. Sadly I don't think Geno has a chance.
@AJDarkstar: I noticed that myself. Seems like you can purchase Sephiroth early, and if you beat him in his challenge you can play as him early, play on his stage and access the extra music and his Classic Mode route. They seem to be saving the Mii costumes and spirit board for next week.
Smash Bros. really is a bizarre concoction by now.
@AnnoyingFrenzy Lol that's pretty funny. I am disappointed about Geno, but figured since sephiroth got in....yeah.
I know Sephiroth isn’t a bad addition....but it’s surprising considering Sakurai’s own gripe that there were too many sword-using challengers.
I'm "♥♪!?", but it's hard to pronounce...
@Bizaster Considering the Miis are all about customizing them I'm actually a little surprised this isn't a feature to begin with. Honestly it does kind of bug me to see certain Mii fighters, for example, Callie and Marie, without those being able to use the Splatoon victory music. It would help increase the immersion of actually using those characters.
Heck, if they wanted to, they could even include some 'extra' victory themes this way that only Mii Fighters could use that could be used for series that have no proper fighters, like Panel de Pon, Golden Sun, and what have you. It would help their customisation so much!
