Honestly, I kinda get what they were going for when I hear it was inspired by Jackbox. It does seem kinda in the vein of Wii Play. Jackbox is a much more personal/social experience though, and you makemuch less of a fool of yourself. Could be fun for the right crowd.

@Olmectron I know Nintendo handled the Japanese localization specifically. They didn't write the English script, but sure, they approved lots of it. I can't help but wonder what that says about the inclusion of things like licensed music skits and the plot being fairly rushed like lots of Illumination movies. I like the Mario Movie. They can get away with that kind of script for the Mario movie. If the script for a new Zelda movie is bad, ultimately it's the Hollywood writers in the room who wrote the thing, not Nintendo, but it would certainly reflect badly on them to approve of it.

...Please not Illumination. It was alright for the Mario Movie, but I've no confidence that Illumination could nail the tone of Zelda. A half-assed script and licensed music trakcs will not fly AT ALL.

I don't really want any of them to be in Illumination's hands. Zelda/Star Fox have good story potential, and seeing how rushed the Mario movie's plot was makes me distrustful of giving them Zelda especially.

Yeah... I was too harsh on Pratt's voice. He's already shown from The lego movie that he's a skilled voice actor. That said, wouldn't say it's an especially perfect casting choice.

That kinda says nothing LMAO. If it's anything like the Treyarch Wii/Wii U ports it could run really smooth @ 60fps, but given the state of big AAA Switch ports we could be looking at 30fps with some sub-720 resolution.

People with otherwise good intentions really do believe that corporate benevolence is the way forward, somehow.

I know Switch's outdated specs are becoming a point of issue, but I do think Nintendo could coast on just the sales from software and not release a new system, even if system sales completely drop.

@Royalblues It's nothing to do with Sony owning EVO. Nintedo pulled out of fighting game stuff after a wave of sexual assault allegations in the community in 2020, including a very serious underage incident involving the founder of EVO.

When gameplay incentives are involved and some people have more money than others, what is "fair"?

They wouldn't in a million years, but if they put it on PC I'd pay the full retail price and be very pleased.

Normally I'm quite a fan of short games that do what they need to then bow out in a couple hours, but £15 is a stretch.

@Bunkerneath It's basically the arts bar from the first game, where you'd cycle through a menu of symbols to select your character's attack/skill. Now they're all mapped to the Joycon buttons so you don't have to take your finger off the left stick to select your move, which is why the UI looks like that. Maybe I'm stating the obvious idk.

@shinesprites I think that's more indicative of the problem of the culture we live in. There's a game talking about these issues because they are very real, we ignore them, and when they happen to us we will wish that we are not ignored by those younger than us. There are other cultures, some on the other side of the world, some lost to history, that have already had this stuff nailed down.

I'm same age and still struggling with it all, but dabbling in some philosophy, therapy, or spirituality, or even a mix, keeps it from being paralysing.

There's Virtue's Last Reward skins in this game which is absolutely blursed.

@NImH I don't know Kanye religiously I just know him from celeb pop culture, but I think it's fairly reasonable to assume hip hop star to game dev lead is not a clean transition, and the lack of progress on this game project doesn't encourage me.

Honestly I'm sure Kanye would have been a poor business partner but if Nintendo really did collaborate with him they could have made history.
