Possibly done because of the Modern Warfare remaster. Funnily enough, I was wondering if the CoD servers were still running considering that they didn't have the ussual Nintendo Wi-fi sticker on them. Guess this implies that Black Ops' servers are still running. Maybe I'll pop some cash for a copy of that as it must be dead cheap now; hope the multiplayer still has some life.

@aj_fowl My God, Red Steel 2 was one of the best example of motion controls in an FPS, perhaps more so than the Prime trilogy. As for Resi, I must say I do have a fondness for the old single-stick control system. Playing Revelations with dual stick controls feels like cheating.

Funnily enough, playing Fates recently has really got me into thinking about getting Code Name S.T.E.A.M. Loved that demo and the art style. Really not sure what didn't click with consumers.

@MGray Likely why Nintendo pulled out. Are you still able to buy consoles from import stores? How does eShop work?

@MGray I'm not Brazilian myself, so I confess that I am a poor authority on this kind of thing, but from what I have seen Brazil has absolutely demented taxes on consoles. If you can afford some of the prices I have seen, I salute you.

@PtM Well it hasn't been set in stone that SEGA will publish Atlus games in Europe. Perhaps if it is confirmed, 7th Dragon will come to Europe.

@Detective_TeeJay You're thinking of the debacle with Jim Sterling. He wanted to keep his videos ad-free by using footage from games published by companies who frequently DMCA videos. That way, the multiple companies who claimed ad revenue Jim's videos won't get to run ads on his videos. YouTube was embarrassed and changed the rules a bit: companies don't immediately get to run ads or run ad money immediately after they claim ad revenue a video. The issue is that if someone tries to repeal the claim, the one who files the claim, rather than the uploader of the content, gets final say, meaning that nothing much has changed. Moreover, nothing has changed to stop crap like in this article.

I am one of "teh kidz" this vid is likely aimed at. This video comes off as try-hard because when YouTubers say stuff like "ma boi", "What's up Internet" and the like, they are expressing their own personality. The character here ain't all bad, but he's annoying because he's in character even though people watching this stuff are fully aware of the fictional element. If the narrator was explaining the game, only being self-aware that this is a game and not a real situation, then he would come off as more genuine.

Oh God...I can see what they mean by formulaic and bland characters, but adult themes and dialogue...just no.

I personally thought Black and White did good at addressing some of the problem that the Apex team are annoyed about.

@happylittlepigs I do hope that Sun and Moon will be able to get kids on the Ninty wagon again. Or, at least Yokai Watch, but I'm not so sure.

@Tetroy64 In that article they stated that they would continue giving review scores as per the vote of its readers. They published two soapbox articles - one for, one against.

This is honestly really sad. Without kids to back it up Nintendo handhelds could go the way of the Vita. If Nintendo drop out of the portable market we'll lose sight of the production values that portable gaming can have, and instead we'll have to resign ourselves to shallower content.

What bugs me even more is that games media is backing up the idea that only mobile games can be considered portable gaming. This is why it killed me to see no 3DS games nominated for BAFTAs and Lara Croft: Relic Run beat Monster Hunter 4 at The Game Awards. Yes, there can be differences of opinion but the quality gap is still insane. This is why I think that Nintendo should have a more two-pronged marketing campaign of their portables as both kids' toys and dedicated gaming machines.

Weird how nobody is remarking about the fact that Wendy Oldbag in a spacesuit just teleported from nowhere...please don't tell me that requires prior series knowledge...

@wazlon Oooh, toughie. Depends whether you'd rather have a 16-bit game blown up on your TV with aded map or being able to play Axiom Verge wherever you like on Vita. I'd personally go for Vita in this regard.

You know, I played the original Super Mario, then I went to NSMB and I realised just how much they tried to shake things up. Hats off to you, Nintendo!

Obviously a lie. They also said this about the DS and even the Wii U, but with the lack of effort put into the Wii U this year it's clear this isn't true.

@Marthian See, I don't see what the problem is with creating it with handhelds in mind and then going from there. Would make it less technically challenging...then again I'm just spouting theoreticals.

While most of this guy's titles are pretty poor to date, I find it interesting to look as a company grows. No indie dev starts off with a good game, and that's fact.

Aww, I chose the Wii U version...I chose it because the 3DS version was supposed to have so many gamebreaking bugs that i didnt want to take that risk.

They revealed the 3DS in 2010, and it released in March. Why can't they do it a second time? What bothers me is that they do have other games, no matter how small, on the horizon, like Federation Force. Why on Earth would Nintendo abandon these games? One of the big three only having one game to show is really bad.

@ColdingLight Could do with a bit more cross-regional consistency. On the flipside of that, tech products, games included, are also much more expensive in the UK, but that probably has little bearing on the discrepancy between US and UK rewards.

I think this is a great idea. The Fire Emblem franchise has incredible room for growth, and I have emulated Fire Emblem on my phone, so I think the core gameplay is transferrable over to smart devices. I do worry that be "accessible", however, they may mean "Overly simple".

I'm not sure what they got going, butit seems like a direly horrible move. With the NX release window confirmed they REALLY have to get info out there. They could showcase Tokyo Mirage Sessions, the NX features and Federation Force. It's clear that they're wrapping up Wii U support so I am extremely doubtful that there could be any honest-to-God surprises at this year's E3.

They announced the 3DS at E3 2010 before releasing it in march of next year. Why can't they pull the same trick here?

I really, REALLY hope that Nintendo will do a 180 on this idea or that they will do something totally amazing and unprecedented, but there doesn't seem to be much hope for that.

It's an amazing deal, but I own the majority of these games already, so it would be less good a deal for me :/ that said, it is for charity...

I don't mind, but let's be honest, what kid is going to get this anyway? You've got no puritan image to pursue if you're going to release games like Devil's Third and Bayo 2, Nintendo.

I'm more annoyed that BAFTA doesn't recognise a single 3DS game as a "portable" game. Dang'ol BAFTAs killing their credibility like that.

@ikki5 Moonlighting is often overlooked in companies. It is frowned upon, but is rarely acted upon. It's clear by the timing of this incident that there was more going on behind the scenes and it sends out the message to potential employees that Nintendo will not protect them in regards to matters that are out of their hands. Moreover, it sends the message to #GamerGate and the Neo-Nazi outlets known as the Stormer that smear campaigns work.

While she obviously shouldn't have been moonlighting, it's an excuse farted out by Nintendo to shoo her out of her role as a representative. People may be like "This is just an everyday case" but not with the attention it has been garnering. Taking the word of a company at face value is often naive.
