@Not_Soos Don't let the discourse get to you, it's a great movie. Very different from Pixar's other work, and it's not trying to recapture what can't be, like a lot of the past decade of Pixar films. It's a movie for a very particular demographic so it's totally okay if it's not your thing.

Also, good luck with your pitch! Breaking into that industry, least from my experience trying to do now, is ***** hard, so I hope your experience is a positive one whether or not anything comes of it.

Honestly even if Platinum is not in the greatest spot right now, they more than any studio I can think of deserve and need independence. And hot take, the current tencent investment (provided they don't buy PT outright) is better than the thought of Nintendo buying them outright. Nintendo actually has taken companies that were doing cool things and forced them to work on much bigger projects at the expense of smaller projects (namely 1up studio, formerly JRPG makers Brownie Brown.) Remember, when a big game company buys a smaller one, never place your faith in any one of them being the good guys.

Very unconvinced as to why they had to come out with a new Splatoon instead of just making small updates to Splatoon 2. Surely you'd want to save it for the next console and avoid splitting the fanbase?

@HarvestGoddess Quite simply people have been waiting for an official TCG simulator that will have a supported competitive scene. other games like Legacy of The Duelist are more fleshed out in other respects but won't see competitive play.

I don't think I would enjoy the game tbh but I simply respect that the developer is not only quite inspired, but also discussing their game quite candidly and honestly, rather than trying to polish it up like a proper advertisement.

Doubtful on Arkham Knight, but then again we've been surprised so many times so who knows?

Uploading the PNGs to Wikipedia in full-res is much more guilt-free.

@TheRedComet You ay that, but when Sony turned the PS3 around with Uncharted, Last of Us and all that other stuff, they also really leaned into smaller indie games. they really pushed for Journey, Sound Shapes, the Unfinished Swan, and just a whole bunch of other strange weirdo games. The trend continued on Vita as welll, and personally that's what made me actually take them seriously as having something special to me that Nintendo didn't. Of course I am very much in a minority here, but it was great for the company and less so for some of its fans. Japan Studio dying was one of its more high profile casualties.

@VoidofLight Don't know if you played P3P But it is "the full game". It has all the same social sim mechanics, all the same real-world locations, it has clubs, everything really. Now it's top-down in the overworld and not 3D, and it's missing the anime cutscenes, which does definitely suck, but it's still an enjoyable way to play the game and experience the story.

This would be the third time this game has been re-released, damn...

@exDeveloper Basically they prioritised high-resolution textures first, framerate second and resolution third, which means its mostly a stable 30fps except for more detailed areas, and the resolution remains a lil blurry rather than properly crisp.

Kinda strange how much it's been delayed considering it's just a single player expansion and the multiplayer with 1 is gonna be the exact same.

@Einherjar Talking about the quality of SMT games in particular, not Persona or tangentially related spinoffs.

In any case he will be working with Atlus as a freelancer so I think persona will be fine for now.

@illmatic20xx Very different tonally; smt has none of the dating mechanics and none of the filler, just always in combat and in dungeons save for the odd story segment.

Feel like the title will invite comment arguing when in actuality the game was always planned to have no dialogue, it's just about game noises.

As much as I hate the tackiness of Warner's crossovers, obviously including the new Space Jam... I can definitely see this succeeding. WB's had a lot of practice with crossovers over the last decade and they could really muscle in to steal a bit of Smash's market share, even if they likely won't take the crown.

I can only really beat a 10 hour game realistically these days, when a game ends up being 12 hours I'm usually relieved.

Like, did you know that planet Earth, as in, our Earth, not a habitable planet, exists in the Metroid series? I sure didn't, because they rename it to "Federation HQ" in English! It also suggests that the game didn't intend to discuss PTSD, but rather that there is a general theme of weakness and childishness that we do not see.

A reminder that a lot of Other M's story complaints stem from localization blunders; omitting any reference to Planet Earth and its own parliament.

Drew didn't have short hair on the back/sides if i remember correctly. The coat is obviously very different too. I would certainly believe they picked up an idea or two from Scalebound. I do hope Bayonetta ca still move freely when controlling the Summon, like in Astral Chain.

I don't necessarily agree that a pretty shlockily-written teen angst game being ported to Switch six year is worth championing as a big win for Nintendo LGBT rep. It's perhaps a weak core for an article, I can understand criticism of that. But anyone who is whining about the mere discussion of a six-year-old LGBT game, you need help. I don't even mean that disparagingly. Your life can't be going that great if you feel that you need to protect your straight white representation when you're literally already well-represented in your majority white/straight country.

Really had to roll my eyes at Metal Slug being labelled an indie game. It really is all a branding thing now. Not really about the little guy coding out of his apartment with zero legitimate industry contacts. I think I'll be sad if Devolver does go public. I guess I would wonder what the brand stands for in ten years' time.

@fafonio Well a lot of purists complained that the game lost a bit of its personality when they took out the open world. Not saying they're right, but it was a surprisingly common sentiment, seeing as the first game's open world is something of a parody.

Everyone's complaints about the open world make me feel pretty smug when I say I always thought 2 was the better game

Fata Morgana was 100 for 2 months and but Metacritic didn't put it on the all-time rankings till it got knocked, what's up with that? And I DON't care whether it's deserved or not. Surprised news sites weren't picking up on like the first ever 100-rated Metacritic game.
