Re: Fans Petition Nintendo To Name Zelda NPC After Deceased Singer Christina Grimmie

LordPieFace

It would be nice. Not necessarily needed, there are other ways to support Grimmie, but it'd be a good thing to do.

I don't understand why people are so vehemently opposed to the idea. Naming the singer after Grime wouldn't be of offence to anybody. People be like "You should stop trying to tell Nintendo what to do, they won't listen". Just because they won't listen doesn't negate people's right to express what they wish from Nintendo. I mean, it's not like Oprainfall did anything....riiiiiggghhht??

Re: E3 2016: Nintendo E3 Zelda Badge Appears to Suggest Male and Female Link

LordPieFace

@smashbrolink funnily enough i think creating an all-new character to play as would take the focus away from Link as a face of the zelda series. You may argue that adding a second gender option for link might do so too, which leads us to the proposition "Should even have to do anything?" They certainly don't have to.

And, well, Lara Croft is certainly less of a blank slate given that she talks and expresses herself more overtly than Link. The reason Link has a personality is because the player bestows onto Link what we see for ourselves in him. Though, yes, it's true that Link has a greater degree of expression in Skyward Sword.

Re: Random: Store Shelves Appear To Be Filling With Pre-Owned Copies Of Star Fox Zero

@Madder128 Yeah, depends where you live, quality of CeX stores can vary from shop to shop. If the OoT box's price tag is printed in, let's say, typewriter-y font rather than the new, more arial-like font, the box may have been there for a while, meaning its current value will be cheaper, likely...but I'm sure the staff would rather just look at said box and assume it's 40 quid.

Re: The Servers for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex Are Down

LordPieFace

Possibly done because of the Modern Warfare remaster. Funnily enough, I was wondering if the CoD servers were still running considering that they didn't have the ussual Nintendo Wi-fi sticker on them. Guess this implies that Black Ops' servers are still running. Maybe I'll pop some cash for a copy of that as it must be dead cheap now; hope the multiplayer still has some life.

@aj_fowl My God, Red Steel 2 was one of the best example of motion controls in an FPS, perhaps more so than the Prime trilogy. As for Resi, I must say I do have a fondness for the old single-stick control system. Playing Revelations with dual stick controls feels like cheating.

Re: Weirdness: Fox Stole Footage Of NES Titles For Family Guy And Copyright-Claimed The Originals On YouTube

LordPieFace

@Detective_TeeJay You're thinking of the debacle with Jim Sterling. He wanted to keep his videos ad-free by using footage from games published by companies who frequently DMCA videos. That way, the multiple companies who claimed ad revenue Jim's videos won't get to run ads on his videos. YouTube was embarrassed and changed the rules a bit: companies don't immediately get to run ads or run ad money immediately after they claim ad revenue a video. The issue is that if someone tries to repeal the claim, the one who files the claim, rather than the uploader of the content, gets final say, meaning that nothing much has changed. Moreover, nothing has changed to stop crap like in this article.

Bit of a tangent there. I'm honestly shocked that Fox DID retract their DMCA.
