Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Ports We'd Love To See In 2023

Little_Squee

I'd have liked these:

1. Sleeping Dogs (compared to GTA V it should be doable. Though commercial prospects of the game might be low.)
2. TR 2013 and Rise of the Tomb Raider should be possible. (Shadow would be a huge challenge, so won't count on that.)
3. Hitman Blood Money and Absolution (not sure whether devs would want to port but...)
4. Fallout 3 and New Vegas (since Microsoft has been quite generous to Nintendo and want their support with their take on Sony)
5. Mass Effect Legendary Edition (fat chance, EA was never very hot on Switch.
6. Dark Souls 2 & 3. (But remember DS3 is GPU-heavy when we compare it to Witcher 3)

Just wishing out loud. May not see any of these.

Re: 'This War Of Mine' Studio Will Donate Profits From The Game To The Ukrainian Red Cross

@NinChocolate In no way I am justifying Russians or denigrating Ukrainians.

But you need to see Bandera Readings, where C14 (Neo-nazi) leader Evegeniy Karas proudly speaks about how effective they had been in Euromaidan demonstrations.
I'd quote his words: "If not for us the whole event would have turned into Gay Parade". Also, C14 had been carrying out pogroms against Romani until these very recent years.

To Op: This comment is supposed to add/rectify to the facts around which the current tragic war revolves. No offense intended.

Re: Review: Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition - Three Classics In One Shocking Package

Bought the trilogy day one. Played only a few missions on all.

1. Pop-ins are clearly an issue.
2. Sometimes stationary objects are rendered a bit late.
3. Speeding is difficult because vehicles in traffic go from 0 opacity to 100 in a second, affecting both gameplay and immersion.
4. Road textures could be completely bland just giving off a color rather than asphalt look.
5. Muddy looks on NPCS, trees, some not very far buildings affect the aesthetics.
6. NPCS and Vehicles' shadows which should form underneath disappear in the evening and stay so until 8:30 in the morning. Yes, you can actually clock it.
7. Even standing against light source in the night doesn't produce any shadow.
8. Noted very few bugs owing to the time I could spend. Car doors opening through your character, getting sunk knees down in the sidewalk are frequent ones.
9. Foliage is clearly updated. But grass blades sticking out in other versions, aesthetically important for me at least, have been completely cropped.
10. Framerate is very unstable.
11. Resolution is trashy in docked but bearable in handheld.

The game has been scaled down just to run on the Switch as opposed to being optimized for the best possible experience on Switch. Saints Row 3 looks crispier on the this console. I'd still say 6.5/10 not 4. But then I have hardly given an hour to each game.
