Re: DreamWorks Spirit Lucky’s Big Adventure Rides Onto Switch This Summer

Unfortunately my kids are also a fan of the series. I've got a few of the OG games before but they have always been pretty poor, even by my kids set of standards and the youngest was 5 the last time she played one of their games. Would be interested to know if this company has learned how to make decent games yet (admittedly we haven't played all their games).

Re: Rumour: Datamine Apparently Reveals All About The New Nintendo Switch Revision

That would make sense, to allow the screen to display HD whereas a chip in the dock would boost the graphics upto 4K, either natively or as an enhancement. That would allow the handheld to keep a superior battery life in handheld, while allowing the system to push for power when docked.

Nintendo are good at that sort of innovation and now that they're working on this hybrid technology they're only going to learn how to do it better and better.

@Kimyonaakuma it is random, even including Marshall...

One of the issues I have with AC merch is that it should be either all or nothing. I mean, I get the special characters like Isabelle, Tom and Flick... but then the other 4 should also be 'special'... Chip, Daisy Mae, Mable and Gulliver, for example. The problem with including villagers, is that you'll never make everyone happy. It's ok if you like these 4 but I guarantee you have other favourites you'd rather have... and then some would want characters not included here (I'm partial to Peaches myself

@Silly_G my thoughts exactly. I agree with Kickstarter projects. It's a fantastic way for those who have ideas and aspirations but without the finances to make those a reality to actually have a shot at it. But for these companies to request funds when they already have the means is just wrong. Would they honestly have to close their doors without the kickstarter project?

Re: "Nintendo Isn't That Smart": Pachter Says Nintendo Should Scrap Switch And 'Only Have Switch Lite'

Wow 520 comments... people really love to hate on this guy. If he doesn't understand it, he shouldn't be an analyst... it's a simple concept. Didn't the NintendoLife poll show more than 20% of the website visitors use a mix of docked and handheld? Maybe he should have done some research before making these claims. Just because he doesn't understand it, doesn't mean it doesn't work.

@Yanina don't worry, the WiiU was a complete flop. When under production the technology in the WiiU was cutting edge, but by the time it came to market there were already several iterations of the iPad and other tablets and that technology was defunct.
That coupled with the awful marketing strategy meant that this easily fell off of a lot of people's radars. I remember going into the local gaming stores and more shelf-space was given to the Wii than the WiiU even after a year of release. You'll be forgiven for not knowing it even existed.

Re: First Impressions: Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit

I would love this and would pay the 100, but the fact that you need a second switch to have a 2 player is just too much. It's acnh all over again and the fact you need a second switch and a second kart just makes it too much. Such a let down because I can't get this for one kid and not the other. Sure they can share but they are an anomaly in that they enjoy playing together.

Re: Feature: Video Game Vocab To Spark Forum Wars - Ten Of Gaming's Trickiest Terms

LavaTwilight

I'm surprised there's so few comments on this after a whole hour.
Objectively, I think the game being 'beaten' harks back to the 80s and early 90s when games were admittedly much harder to complete and there was very few options to find out how to get past that one boss, or what to do next. Therefore, it was a challenge to overcome. The gamers who have the easier, albeit longer, games no longer have such a high challenge and so can easily 'finish' the game if they get to see the end credits, but will only truly 'complete' the game if they do everything else.

And now I'm gonna put my head on the chopping board here, but as for being a gamer, I'd rather say no. I enjoy video games and videogames. But if I turn round and say I only play nintendo, some have actually said to me that I'm not a gamer because I don't play GTA or FPS and the like. And I would tell some in my community I play video games and they immediately think I'm into bloody violence and gore. So I've chosen to avoid that term altogether.

Realistically, people need to just chill out. It's not worth getting angry and into a heated debate over. Oh, you don't suppose the violence in videogames has anything to do with that, do you?

Hopefully, the exclusion of additional bonus features may be due to the covid, and hopefully will be added as a free update later in order to get the game out to people in time for the 35th anniversary. I'm hoping the same would go for Galaxy 2... but with something as big as that you'd expect it to have been announced during the official reveal, "coming later" kinda thing. We can but live in hope.
