@Jester676 at this exact moment in time, there is no financial damage. But in business, it's not good enough to simply say there is no damages, when their actions could cause damages further down the line. If they release unauthorised accessories, the best that could happen is Nintendo don't make any money, which is in itself a loss of revenue. But the worst is that their unauthorised accessories may damage consoles and that could cause loss of revenue as well as damage to brand. That of course is worse case scenario and in the court of law you don't have to stipulate every possible outcome since it is inferred what could happen. They just need to prove it was unauthorised and that is enough to suggest damages or loss of revenue.

@JohnnyMind FZero is a fantastic series, although I admit, GX was my first entry and I only played the others from the shop. Really, the older games are so different. GX is a game all on its own. You don't need to play the older ones in order to enjoy GX!

@TyGuy you'd think so and yet MM2 is missing from any upgrade lists, paid or otherwise. That's why I feel an announcement is incoming.

I'm surprised no one is talking about a Mario Maker 3. To be fair I haven't read all comments. But a new Mario Maker, with mouse controls, would be awesome! Hopefully with Wonder styles and maybe even Odyssey style, even if they put it in 2D like they did with 3D World.

Incidentally, did anyone notice how Mario Maker 2 does not have a Switch 2 upgrade? Even just improved visuals... but especially a mouse mode. That should be an easy one... maybe they're preparing for a Mario Maker 3 announcement?

@Princess_Lilly 100% agree with you. I remember the first time I opened it and made my way to Balmora... I was awestruck! I prefer it to Skyrim... but if it could get the same lick of paint then I wouldn't mind.

@kevmauldin oh no I waited... ha. There were various reasons I was waiting but I was considering my options... Sunday morning it was still available and then by the evening I decided to buy it, so when I logged in Sunday evening it was gone. So they've just sold out. That's fine, I'm fine... maybe they'll restock, or I'll just wait anyway.

It's a shame the skipped Morrowind... I always preferred that one. I guess it was just released as a DLC for Elder Scrolls online and that was that.

It seems Nintendo online has sold out here in Europe. I have the invite email but when I go into the website the console is still sold out. I wonder if they will 'restock' for when it opens to the public or will it just open to the public in a 'sold out' state?

Without reading the comments, I think my opinion is in harmony with most... the console price is reasonable. The extras, like the games and controllers and accessories... far too much!

@Danondorf that's on the Nintendo website... some retailers are already offering their own reorders.

@Rykdrew I know what you mean. For me it's kind of 50/50, but if 50% of a game you love suddenly became absent, you're gonna feel it. And I don't think free roam or knockout modes are gonna replace that. I really hope the MKW direct in 2 weeks is going to show us some of that battle love.

Hey I've been pronouncing it right this whole time... awesome... didn't know it was an issue either. However, I still have an 'axe' to grind for people who mispronounce 'ask' - it makes me feel like my IQ drops a couple of points every time I hear it.

In classic Nintendo fashion, we get nothing for months and then 2 at once. It's easy to laugh and deride but let's face it, would we still love Nintendo as much as we do if they were even a little less... nintendoish?

@Bobb I was going to say the same thing... either our palms block it, or we're holding the joycon in a way that the rgb is facing away from us, or it's docked and they're unnoticed or a corner-of-the-eye flickering distraction. I'd be interested to know if anyone has a working pair and if they're any good.

I remember this. It was the inspiration behind the Matrix (the movie). It was a great story but never actually played the game. Maybe this is the chance to pick it up.

@Optimist80 except the diagrams clearly show the person using the thumb for the stick and the index fingers using what would be the shoulder buttons so the thumb wouldn't really need access to the other buttons.

I will however apologise for coming across as 'superior', I was really meaning to be helpful and did not intend on offending anyone.

Ok so I voted to bring back Miiverse, absolutely! It was incredible... then I watched the video. Now I'm not so sure. How do I change my choice?

@PolitiClank @Bondi_Surfer I'm not sure what Bondi's experience is but I've used the patent diagrams of toilet paper to prove to my family which way the toilet paper should be positioned on the holder - so that you pull the paper over the roll holder, not under.

The mouse switch controllers are considerably more interesting though.

Let's go back to the days of NES sized cartridges. Can you imagine the technology that could fit onto one of those these days if it was all microchip in there.

I'd still like to see retro courses, but you're absolutely right, it'd have to be different from what we've had before. We are running out of courses but there's still a fair few that haven't returned yet... I'm sure there's a list somewhere...

An item I'd love to see and I think can be the new gimmick... and I'm surprised no one has said this yet... but what about a WONDER FLOWER? About as rare as a Lightning Bolt, and in true Wonder fashion it changes the course up in bizarre and unexpected ways. One course might make everyone 16bit or 64bit original Mario graphics, or another course might bring an onslaught of charging Bulrushes we have to avoid, maybe another course causes the ground to become icy, and you know Nintendo will always come up with great ideas. If done well I can imagine the Wonder Flower would be a powerful unique edition. Maybe if you wanted to turn it off, there could be that option.

Does this mean Nintendo will announce the Switch 2 today at CES in Las Vegas? If that's the case why bother making a statement at all...

@-wc- I agree with that random scene. The game was full of so many great moments but that hidden village I'm struggling to remember and I did get all 108 characters.
Tbh I was such a fan I'll probably get this anyway. It's gonna be a darn sight cheaper than finding the originals again.

I have to admit, this may be the first time I chose the box purely on nostalgic value. I don't mind, after all, that's only the reason we prefer one box art over the other. It doesn't change the fact that we prefer it.

I love logic puzzles and paradoxes. And there is one paradox that goes like this: imagine you had a gift to give to someone but you wanted to make it a surprise. They know they're getting it next week, but what day do you give it to them to make it most surprising? You can't give it on Friday, because when Thursday ends and they haven't received their gift yet, it becomes obvious that they will receive it Friday, thus they won't be surprised. However, because Thursday becomes the last plausible day, then the receiver knows if they haven't received their gift by the end of Wednesday, they know they will receive it Thursday, this negating the surprise. So it goes all the way to Monday. You with me?

So in order for Nintendo to reveal the Switch 2 to us in the most surprising way they need to do it now. Before the end of this year. ASAP! Like yesterday.

I'm taking all this with a pinch of salt, I generally don't follow rumours, even the ones NLife presents... however
I do like the sound of being able to customise the docking screen... that is pretty awesome. Let's face it, they really needed a lot more built in customisation abilities. They have enough IP to do it.

@AnonyQ oh yeah for sure, but I don't really count some of them as rereleases if they offer something new, like the New Play Control ones (like Pikmin), and of course when the same game is released for 2 systems at the same time (like Twilight Princess). Those will always happen, you're right, there's no escaping that. But regardless of what we think, there won't be as many as there were between WiiU and the Switch!

I haven't watched the video yet, I'll leave that till later when I have time, but I'll say the Switch 2 will be interesting. It's no secret that the Switch had to pick up the slack from the so-called failure of the WiiU and with it came am eclectic mix of rereleased WiiU games and brand new originals. The Switch 2 being backwards compatible with the Switch means no rereleases from the Switch era at least. I'm looking forward to whatever the big N has planned, whatever it is.

@HammerGalladeBro it was doing the same to me. For some reason it was my bank account that was stopping the payments from going through. Even though I never told them to withhold payments. In the end I added PayPal and that allowed me to make payments. Try that.

I only got Pocket Camp to unlock the special items in New Horizons, then I stopped because I'm not a fan of the whole subscription to play service, not even for MMOs... but I may try this out properly now. Still undecided. If there is some reason why I should get it, what would it be?

In addition to what I chose, the stereoscopic 3D and Street pass, it would actually be cool if there was also a dual screen on the new Switch 2... maybe one that can fold over when docked to protect both screens. Then this can be utilised for certain games when in handheld and maybe if it docks unfolded the second screen can stick out of the console and you know... show things...
