Re: Talking Point: What's The Worst Game That You Still Love For Some Reason?

LavaTwilight

I dont know if this counts but I have a great fondness for Adventures of Link. Is it because people compare it to other iterations in the Zelda series? Is it really that bad and I'm just looking at it through rose-tinted glasses? I don't know, but in my opinion it's up there with OoT, MM, BotW and LttP. Which one is first, I actually can't decide but Adventures of Link has a chance in my books.

Re: Konami Is Bringing Suikoden I & II Back With HD Remasters On Switch Next Year

LavaTwilight

@gcunit It has an amazing story. One day on an adventure you notice a huge statue ruin in the landscape that wasn't there before. What's weirder is that as far as everyone is concerned it had always been there for hundreds of years. As the game goes on it's revealed that different universes are being destroyed and blending with each other. The story is without a doubt one of the best but it's a shame that everything else is so weak. On top of that, it also could explain how Viki, Jeanne and Ted are able to be in multiple games, but none of them even get a mention. That really bothered me.

Re: Pikmin 4 Is Set For A 2023 Release, Following Years Of Speculation

LavaTwilight

The mobile Pikmin app isn't bad... it's just not a game. So if someone gets it expecting it to be then they're bound to be disappointed. It's also not another Pokemon Go app. Yes they're similar but it's a lot more relaxing than that. I got it when it was first released and still actively use it.

Saying all that, if he left it there I would've been sick with disappointment. Really stoked to have Pikmin 4 finally! Saying that, a 1&2 remake would've worked for me too, even though I've completed them both several times. And with such a vague release window for 4, it might have made me feel more content if they went ahead and released 1&2 anyway while we wait.

Re: Nintendo Once Again Reassures It Has No Plans To Increase Switch Prices

LavaTwilight

Challenging conditions abound for everyone, not just multi-billion dollar corporations and their stockholders. Instead of passing the challenging conditions on to their customers along with additional increase to boost revenue, why don't they protect their customers from it by absorbing some of the profit.
Yet again, Nintendo leads the way.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Maintenance Is Due Tomorrow, And Fans Are Speculating

LavaTwilight

To have a guess at what courses we're going to see I think looking at MK Tour is the place to start. We will probably see some city courses and retro courses that feature there. That was what wave 1 was all about so it wouldn't surprise me to see that continue for wave 2 onwards. I dont know what to suggest though. Maybe the newly added Daisy Cruiser from the GC?

Re: Geoff Keighley Urges Fans To 'Manage Exceptions' For Summer Game Fest

LavaTwilight

That's what's so great about Nintendo doing their own thing... we can still get a massive Nintendo Direct even without E3. Plus, they don't need to be part of the Summer Fest.

I mean, they have to do one right? We've only had one proper one this year and they may lose consumer focus as well as investor support if they go through the 'E3 season' without any Directs.

Re: Rumour: Mario Party Superstars DLC May Be On The Way

LavaTwilight

I hope this is true. The character selection seems too basic compared to previous entries. And although there is an extra board compared to Super Mario Party, I'm finding it a little frustrating; maybe because at least SMP had 2 variations of each board and a solo play.

I'd like to see new characters, but new boards are a must. Then again, who doesn't want more minigames?

Re: Talking Point: How Long Does Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Take To Beat, Really?

LavaTwilight

Although I didnt opt for it, I like the answer "When I'm done with it." All this "you're not a real gamer" BS is ridiculous. I mean, the ending of a game varies from game to game. I mean in Animal Crossing the credits roll when you get KK on your island, but most of the game is locked behind that moment. Then with BoTW there's just so much to do. With games like Skyrim there's just so much to do you can't complete it in one sitting because of clashes. So when a game is done varies with game to game and I think anyone who plays games for fun has as much right to be called a Gamer than the one who does so competitively, and as such everyone has their own right to say when they are done with the game.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Is Finally Getting DLC

LavaTwilight

@Dingelhopper then hopefully, they used mobile game footage for the sake of the video. I tend to view things optimistically before jumping to conclusions... though admittedly I'm often left disappointed by it. I guess we'll find out on march 18th.

Re: Wii Sports Is Reborn As 'Nintendo Switch Sports'

LavaTwilight

I was almost disappointed until they mentioned golf would be coming later. I hope it's reminiscent of the Resort version and not just the original. I would have to get this... as long as the price is right. That would be the strongest motivating factor for me on this one.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Is Finally Getting DLC

LavaTwilight

@rjejr I'd say there's unlikely going to be a new MK8 deluxe complete ultimate collectors edition for the next home console. I understand the cynicism but the fact is Nintendo had to acknowledge the commercial failure that was the WiiU, even though it produced some of Nintendo's beat games. They ported the games like MK8 in order to make a return on the investment that went into the WiiU and it succeeded. Although people like us feel slightly robbed because we bought the WiiU, Nintendo is still a business and have to keep shareholders happy, as well as consumers. With MK8 selling so much, a ported version of it to the next console wouldnt make sense as so many have already purchased it for the Switch.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Is Finally Getting DLC

LavaTwilight

@PikaPhantom @mystman12 @Kimyonaakuma @Dingelhopper I'm guessing... hoping... this is due to the fact that the videos are showing the beta stages of development and the final product would be on par with the other courses we already have. That would at least make sense.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Is Finally Getting DLC

LavaTwilight

So perhaps finally they can release Wario Coliseum from the GCN with anti-grav enhancements. Can you imagine that course while driving on the walls and ceilings? That would be mad! It's like that course was built for anti-gravity a whole 20 years ahead of it's time... hopefully there would be new Battle courses too...
