I'm torn on whether or not to get this. It doesn't sound like too crappy a port and I would like EA to stay with Nintendo on principle, but there are so many better sounding games on Switch right now that I want to pick up. Do I really care about boring old Fifa?
@BradC40 Thank you. I'm sick of the Koopalings too. A Metroid teaser would probably amount to a shot of the visor with a music sting at this point, since that would be all the development time Nintendo could have possibly devoted to it this year. They've got a stacked line-up.
I remember a fake leak I saw that listed "Luigi's Mansion: Sarasaland Spirits" as an announcement. That would be an instant buy for me.
Realistically, I'm hoping to see plenty of Fire Emblem Warriors. Like maybe a good 60 of them. Mario + Rabbids and Odyssey will be competing for my Mario dollar, but only because Rabbids don't throw me off as much as Mario's eyeball hat.
Pokken's a good announcement, though I'm not getting it personally. I didn't enjoy Sun, so I probably won't enjoy Ultra Sun regardless of the console it was on.
Gold and Silver is my favorite announcement. I love how Whitney is practically the mascot of that generation. We see her every time clips are played.
I'd love it if we got a game similiar to Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness on the Switch. That would be the announcement that would excite me. Though I might be interested by the possibilities of a new Snap or Channel given all the new content to draw from.
Pokemon Stars would not excite me. Alola as a region just doesn't strike my fancy, and White 2 was the last mainline game I enjoyed (I still need to pick up Omega Ruby).
As long as the time is dividedreasonably between the games Nintendo will have succeeded in my book. The Breath of the Wild footage was boring as heck after the first 15 minutes and just kept going. I'm crossing my fingers that Mario won't devour this presentation like Zelda did.
@BlackxWolfie Because people are always super hyped about Metroid and can't think of another Metroid character who appeared in multiple games. You know Dark Samus would be a clone despite the potential not to be. I'd want Gandrayda, personally.
As for third parties, I think the concept of Nintendo collaborating successfully with other companies can be more exciting than using their own library. It's like the newcomer has overcome greater odds to be in Smash, I guess.
I voted Shantae. I also want Daisy and King K. Rool. But more than that, I want an adventure/story mode, a boss rush mode, and/or conveyor belts back in the custom stage builder. Player characters are great, but they aren't the only way the game can be improved.
My favorites are Mechanica and Master Mummy. I'm sad to see them lose out, but my favorites always seem to do that. See the final Splatfest and the Fire Emblem Heroes poll for other examples.
Mechanica's cool because she had to work for her spot, and I'm most interested in Master Mummy's plot hook of finding his family. Also, he's a mummy.
I'm going to make a bird. I'd rather be playing Knuckles or Blaze, but whatever. The character in the video looks like a Sonic Boom character more than a Modern Sonic character.
I'll watch at least some of the Splatoon tournament and plenty of ARMs. They are at least games where all of the features are (presumably) being used. Smash is so boring to me without items. But then, I prefered Brawl to 4 and Melee, so what do I know!
I'm interested in Fledgling Warriors and Lost Altars. They should help me along in the game with extra stuff! Don't know where I'll find the money for the amiibo now, though.
I don't know how to feel about this. I love this game, but I already have it. Then again, I want to support Mario RPGs that are more creative than all-Toads all-the-time.
My favorite of the Series is Superstar Saga, followed by Partners in Time in second and Dream Team in third. I like the Bowser segments of Bowser's Inside Story, but I found the Mario & Luigi segments and the general story bland.
I'm confused why Sonic Mania was announced to pander to Genesis players but Sonic Adventure 3 wasn't announced to pander to Modern Sonic fans. Pander equally, Sega!
I've had more fun with the Sonic Advance and Sonic Rush games than I ever did with the Genesis games, so I guess I'm in the minority. I didn't care about Sonic until his sweet redesign in Sonic Adventure, so having Classic Sonic back again doesn't appeal to me.
I'd ask for a SNES Mini, but I already own most of the games I would want to play on it. Same went for NES Mini. My heart goes out to anyone who wanted it, though. I sometimes wish that I had the money to buy these collector items up and sell them at a discount online just to be an anti-scalper.
If Has Been Heroes deserves a 5 for killing the player a lot, then so does Super Mario Maker. I died much more in that game trying and failing to get a Tetra costume. At least Has Been Heroes doesn't give me the laughing troll lips every time I fail. It gives me new items!
But really, I'd bump it up to a seven. It suffers early on from leaving the player to figure things out on their own after a measly tutorial, but I was never frustrated enough to not sally forth once more.
@IceClimbers I'd love it if Sega dumped their whole backlog onto the Switch. They've got some stuff I'd like to try out, like Sonic Generations and Space Channel 5.
Pikmin 3 and Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water. I missed both of them for one reason or another, though I did play Fatal Frame's demo and enjoyed it all right.
Also want Shantae: Half-Genie Hero and Nefarious. I'll reboy them, and so should everyone else who likes platformers with character.
@Frank90 I used Setsuna over Takumi and Beruka over Camilla just because I liked them more. It's funny that my least favorite Fates siblings are the ones to headline Fire Emblem Heroes, but whatever.
I hope I can eventually get the Radiant Tellius games for less than 120 dollars each. Though I might not be able to defy who the games wants me to play with permadeath involved.
"No more predictable archers." Yep, those archers have sure had it hard in combat effectiveness up until now. Especially the ones named Takumi. At least they've balanced the classes with ranged attacks by making the mages hurt themselves.
I'm not sure I understand these complaints of people fawning over Corrin. Should his family not care about him? Should he have a more limited support list? Do the games before Sacred Stones (The oldest one I've played) feature casts that hate the protagonists?
I've played and loved Sacred Stones, Awakening, and Fates, so I'll give Echoes a chance. I'm not sure about the dungeon exploration element. I think I'd rather keep marriages instead for the extra supports and characterization. I can do without the kids, though.
This looks like a good game for my library. I won't be behind if it takes off, and I'll get hipster cred if it doesn't! I'll probably be sticking to Master Mummy and Mechanica.
@Meaty-cheeky It's good to see Sonic Advance get some recognition. I'm wondering if Sonic Mania can live up to it, especially since I prefer the Adventure designs over classic.
Bomberman, I Am Setsuna, Has Been Heroes, and Snake Pass all look interesting. I'll be getting them. The Splatoon preview will be all I'm playing from Nintendo themselves for a while.
My brain says that this is a money sink, but my hearts says that it's a crossover between Sacred Stones, Awakening, and Fates. Echoes will probably get me excited for the Gaiden characters too. I'll have to fork the money over for L'Arachel, at the least.
What catches my eye is the idea that characters have different star total versions. It may be prudent to go after low stars to get all the characters I want.
I'm going to give Super Bomberman R, I Am Setsuna, Fast RMX, and Has Been Heroes a whirl. The only thing that interests me about Breath of the Wild is the promsing return of the Gerudo, but I can watch how that plays out when my brother plays it.
I might also spring for one of the two Joy-Con charging options. Storage and extra Joy-Cons can come as they are needed.
I hope Fire Emblem Warriors has multiplayer. My big disappointment with the 3ds port was no multiplayer. (Though Tetra evened that out.)
There hasn't been any game announcements that blew me away yet, but there are some interesting titles. I've got to try ARMs: I still feel guilty for leaving Codename S.T.E.A.M. out to dry. Not making that mistake again.
I sincerely hope that Project Sonic, Dragon Quest 11, and the new Fire Emblem get epic trailers to get me well and truly hyped.
I'm excited for ARMs, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Super Bomberman R, and the eventual Fire Emblem support. I wish Bomberman were cheaper so I could more easily support Konami's return to Nintendo, but oh well.
I want to know what specific AAA Third Party titles the Switch would have to get before it counts as having third party support. I'm guessing Uncharted, Mass Effect, Persona, and Final Fantasy, right? You know, the ones Sony would pay out the nose to keep away from Nintendo. Am I missing any?
@gortsi I've branched out to Dragon Quest and Ace Attorney since then, but they won't factor into Nintendo console talk until Dragon Quest 11 comes out. It's a shame that Capcom and Square Enix didn't grab me years ago so my search for their backlogs wouldn't be in conflict with my desire to support the Switch. Guess that's what happens when there's a wall of shame like the Wii had.
@gortsi I see some cartoons that I like on that wall of shame. I probably wouldn't have liked the game adaptions of them, though. Is it any wonder that Sega was the only third party I noticed for years?
It would be cool if we could have greater control over our Mii's expressions during cutscenes and stuff. I imagine my gothy Mii to be a lot more restrained in personality than the goofy poses the games give her. But that likely won't happen if they're being downplayed. I'm happy to have more customization options, though!
I'd love to see a female protagonist in a Zelda game. If it's girl Link, fine by me. If it's not Link, even better. I almost always find Link the least interesting character in the game, anyway.
Of course, I still think Twilight Princess was Midna's game and could have excluded Link entirely with only minimal change, so what do I know?
I'd like to remind everyone that there is a princess fair who fights for all that is good and holy. Her name is L'Arachel. You should all spare a vote for her, as I have. It will help in her crusade.
Inklings! King Boo! They might be enough for me to double dip at a discounted price. Or maybe I should get it right away to tell Nintendo not to abandon the Splatoon IP as a one-hit wonder.

@Octane There's an idea. Captain Falcon can finally draw his gun and Samus can join in the race scene.

So this is what it takes for Nintendo to get third-party support. I'll pick it up at a large discount.

@greengecko007 Tetra all the way! Though I'd prefer Susie to enter the fray over Waddle Dee, personally. She could use the Robobot armor!

@ShadJV I love items so much! This is beautifully stated.

Re: Sega Is Looking To Revive Some Of Its Past Classics
I'd like to see...
Sakura Wars, Space Channel 5, Shinobi, Crazy Taxi, Super Monkey Ball, Billy Hatcher, and Chu Chu Rocket.
That's probably too much to ask for, so I'll settle for any two of them.
Re: Poll: Nintendo is Keen on 'Social Competitive Gaming' on Switch - Are You Game?
