Re: Poll: Are You Excited About Nintendo at E3 2017?

LArachelDisciple

@BradC40 Thank you. I'm sick of the Koopalings too. A Metroid teaser would probably amount to a shot of the visor with a music sting at this point, since that would be all the development time Nintendo could have possibly devoted to it this year. They've got a stacked line-up.

Re: Feature: Our Nintendo Hopes and Dreams for E3 2017

LArachelDisciple

I remember a fake leak I saw that listed "Luigi's Mansion: Sarasaland Spirits" as an announcement. That would be an instant buy for me.

Realistically, I'm hoping to see plenty of Fire Emblem Warriors. Like maybe a good 60 of them. Mario + Rabbids and Odyssey will be competing for my Mario dollar, but only because Rabbids don't throw me off as much as Mario's eyeball hat.

Re: Get Ready for a Pokémon Direct on 6th June

LArachelDisciple

I'd love it if we got a game similiar to Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness on the Switch. That would be the announcement that would excite me. Though I might be interested by the possibilities of a new Snap or Channel given all the new content to draw from.

Pokemon Stars would not excite me. Alola as a region just doesn't strike my fancy, and White 2 was the last mainline game I enjoyed (I still need to pick up Omega Ruby).

Re: Poll: Who Would You Like To See In Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo Switch?

LArachelDisciple

@BlackxWolfie Because people are always super hyped about Metroid and can't think of another Metroid character who appeared in multiple games. You know Dark Samus would be a clone despite the potential not to be. I'd want Gandrayda, personally.

As for third parties, I think the concept of Nintendo collaborating successfully with other companies can be more exciting than using their own library. It's like the newcomer has overcome greater odds to be in Smash, I guess.

Re: Poll: Who Is Your Favourite ARMS Fighter?

LArachelDisciple

My favorites are Mechanica and Master Mummy. I'm sad to see them lose out, but my favorites always seem to do that. See the final Splatfest and the Fire Emblem Heroes poll for other examples.

Mechanica's cool because she had to work for her spot, and I'm most interested in Master Mummy's plot hook of finding his family. Also, he's a mummy.

Re: Rumour: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga DX Partnering Up for 3DS eShop

LArachelDisciple

I don't know how to feel about this. I love this game, but I already have it. Then again, I want to support Mario RPGs that are more creative than all-Toads all-the-time.

My favorite of the Series is Superstar Saga, followed by Partners in Time in second and Dream Team in third. I like the Bowser segments of Bowser's Inside Story, but I found the Mario & Luigi segments and the general story bland.

Re: Gawk at 'Classic Sonic' Dashing Through Green Hill Zone in Sonic Forces

LArachelDisciple

I'm confused why Sonic Mania was announced to pander to Genesis players but Sonic Adventure 3 wasn't announced to pander to Modern Sonic fans. Pander equally, Sega!

I've had more fun with the Sonic Advance and Sonic Rush games than I ever did with the Genesis games, so I guess I'm in the minority. I didn't care about Sonic until his sweet redesign in Sonic Adventure, so having Classic Sonic back again doesn't appeal to me.

Re: Review: Has-Been Heroes (Switch eShop)

LArachelDisciple

If Has Been Heroes deserves a 5 for killing the player a lot, then so does Super Mario Maker. I died much more in that game trying and failing to get a Tetra costume. At least Has Been Heroes doesn't give me the laughing troll lips every time I fail. It gives me new items!

But really, I'd bump it up to a seven. It suffers early on from leaving the player to figure things out on their own after a measly tutorial, but I was never frustrated enough to not sally forth once more.

Re: Video: Nintendo's Fire Emblem Echoes Overview Shows How It Shakes Up the Formula

LArachelDisciple

@Frank90 I used Setsuna over Takumi and Beruka over Camilla just because I liked them more. It's funny that my least favorite Fates siblings are the ones to headline Fire Emblem Heroes, but whatever.

I hope I can eventually get the Radiant Tellius games for less than 120 dollars each. Though I might not be able to defy who the games wants me to play with permadeath involved.

Re: Video: Nintendo's Fire Emblem Echoes Overview Shows How It Shakes Up the Formula

LArachelDisciple

"No more predictable archers."
Yep, those archers have sure had it hard in combat effectiveness up until now. Especially the ones named Takumi. At least they've balanced the classes with ranged attacks by making the mages hurt themselves.

I'm not sure I understand these complaints of people fawning over Corrin. Should his family not care about him? Should he have a more limited support list? Do the games before Sacred Stones (The oldest one I've played) feature casts that hate the protagonists?

I've played and loved Sacred Stones, Awakening, and Fates, so I'll give Echoes a chance. I'm not sure about the dungeon exploration element. I think I'd rather keep marriages instead for the extra supports and characterization. I can do without the kids, though.

Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Microtransaction Prices and Early Impressions Emerge

LArachelDisciple

My brain says that this is a money sink, but my hearts says that it's a crossover between Sacred Stones, Awakening, and Fates. Echoes will probably get me excited for the Gaiden characters too. I'll have to fork the money over for L'Arachel, at the least.

What catches my eye is the idea that characters have different star total versions. It may be prudent to go after low stars to get all the characters I want.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Nintendo Switch Pre-Order and Launch Day Plans?

LArachelDisciple

I'm going to give Super Bomberman R, I Am Setsuna, Fast RMX, and Has Been Heroes a whirl. The only thing that interests me about Breath of the Wild is the promsing return of the Gerudo, but I can watch how that plays out when my brother plays it.

I might also spring for one of the two Joy-Con charging options. Storage and extra Joy-Cons can come as they are needed.

I hope Fire Emblem Warriors has multiplayer. My big disappointment with the 3ds port was no multiplayer. (Though Tetra evened that out.)

Re: Feature: Reflecting on Time Spent With the Nintendo Switch

LArachelDisciple

There hasn't been any game announcements that blew me away yet, but there are some interesting titles. I've got to try ARMs: I still feel guilty for leaving Codename S.T.E.A.M. out to dry. Not making that mistake again.

I sincerely hope that Project Sonic, Dragon Quest 11, and the new Fire Emblem get epic trailers to get me well and truly hyped.

Re: Poll: A Week On, How Do You Feel About the Nintendo Switch?

LArachelDisciple

I'm excited for ARMs, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Super Bomberman R, and the eventual Fire Emblem support. I wish Bomberman were cheaper so I could more easily support Konami's return to Nintendo, but oh well.

I want to know what specific AAA Third Party titles the Switch would have to get before it counts as having third party support. I'm guessing Uncharted, Mass Effect, Persona, and Final Fantasy, right? You know, the ones Sony would pay out the nose to keep away from Nintendo. Am I missing any?

Re: Soapbox: It's Nintendo's Job To Make Switch A Success, Not EA's, Ubisoft's Or Capcom's

LArachelDisciple

@gortsi I've branched out to Dragon Quest and Ace Attorney since then, but they won't factor into Nintendo console talk until Dragon Quest 11 comes out. It's a shame that Capcom and Square Enix didn't grab me years ago so my search for their backlogs wouldn't be in conflict with my desire to support the Switch. Guess that's what happens when there's a wall of shame like the Wii had.
