Re: Koji Kondo Discusses Music Creation for Iconic Mario and Legend of Zelda Games

Kenology

I'm very disappointed Kondo is not having a more active role in the new Zelda game for Wii U. I personally want Kondo to start creating whole scores again. I think it's time for him to be lead composer on a big project again like Mario and Zelda (and no, Mario Maker doesn't really count for me). With that said, no matter who writes music for Zelda, no matter who lead composer is - Kenta Nagata (Wind Waker), Toru Minegishi (Twilight Princess), Hajime Wakai (Skyward Sword), etc. - they always have to use Kondo's music as it is Zelda lore. So even if Kondo doesn't compose one new song for any game, his music is always being used from previous scores. That's the only consolation Kondo fans really have these days.

Re: Review: Castlevania: Dracula X (Wii U eShop / Super Nintendo)

I'm really loving the music in this first level. I recognize it from the opening theme of Castlevania 64, which later arranged this song. Good stuff. It sounds fantastic coming out of an SNES.

I'm thinking of getting this game but I probably won't. It just seems like a step back control-wise to not be able to whip in all eight directions like Super Castlevania IV - my fave game in the series. I know that will annoy me.
