@KBuckley27 Silly comment. The system only been out for a few weeks. All of these games are late ports. Plus, we just had the Switch, how can you say third parties aren't putting they're games on Nintendo systems. Where have you been from 2017 until now? You spoke without thinking first clearly.
Turning AA off would be great. Would reduce the blur. And speaking of blur...
Does anyone know what the difference is between the motion blur and "blur" options are in the post-processing menu? I understand the motion blur, but I don't get the standard "blur" option at all.
@Prof_Yoshtonics Maybe. Maybe you surveyed potential Japanese buyers to get that data!? Lol. Point is, the sales were way better than you initially believed, so the drift issue wasn't the "reason" it didn't do well - because it did very well!
Poor analysis here by Citi. They clearly didn't expect 300k Switch Lite systems to move in Japan only, did they? Because that would be asinine. If they meant worldwide, Switch Lite clearly did that with the 162k units in Japan + worldwide numbers (Benji said it did really well in the US). I don't know what Citi is up to here but they did a pretty poor job either setting unreasonable expectations or prematurely making a judgment before all the worldwide numbers are in. Nintendo's stocks dropped as a result too.
Lame comparison. MH World was the brand new game. XX/Ultimate is just an expansion of Generations which itself was just a mash up of previous MH games - like an MH greatest hits. It did very well for what it was.
@SwitchForce The risk of buying a digital game that you cannot return. That's what we're talking about. I buy games I know I'll play and love. If there's an indy I'm curious about, I'll read trusted reviews and, more importantly, listen to word-of-mouth from people I also have in my network. So going full digital is working very well for me. I typically don't resale my games anyway because everything I buy is quality and I'd like to keep them. Plus, l travel a lot. Not interested in carrying around 30 carts.
So, basic tip for survey design, though I know there's probably no option for branching logic or anything for this survey on the site. But for someone like me, who is 100% digital, there shouldn't even be the option to answer the second to last question ("Which of the following factors makes you choose physical over digital when buying Nintendo Switch games?).
This is a very careless and clueless analysis. It makes no sense to publish this before the Switch's biggest weeks of the year. And he didn't even mention Pokemon LG or Smash. This is a hatchet job, not any sort of analysis at all.
I'll grab 3 (based on NL's review) and 4 (if it's more like the first two). I'm sticking to my no double dipping policy on games I've already purchased on Wii U and I have both Trine 1&2 on Wii U.
I'm glad Nintendo is doing the right thing by owning this and correcting it. And lol at all the non-Native people talking about how it's not offensive!
@Horseface @Horseface Yes, you're repeating what l said myself! I mentioned that area in my very first post and said it ran at 900p. You're responding as if l didn't say all this already lol
@Horseface It's 900p in in some later areas and 1080p any other time.
From DF: "Unlike the Xbox 360 original - which rendered the game natively at 1024x720 - the resolution metrics make Switch more competitive with the PS4 and Xbox One's standard 1080p. There is a catch here, however. Most of the Undead Burg section runs at this top pixel count with no issue, but for any of the later, more taxing areas, the Switch version dynamically adjusts its resolution. The lowest I've found is in the Darkroot Basin - a foggy woodland area that forces the game to run at a near-constant 1600x900. Put simply, there are two resolutions while docked - 900p and 1080p, with pixel counts shifting, depending on the scene."
The game runs in 1080p most of the time. You seem to be dismissing that fact though. Plus, the video on DF made it sound like it dropped to 900p in just one area, so l stand corrected in that regard myself.
@Cobalt @Horseface It is 1080p docked according to Digital Foundry with the exception of a forested area with a lot of alpha effects, where the game is 900p. Docked it 720p across the board.
This sort of thing pushes me off. Nintendo gamers are wired since NES for A to confirm and B to be cancel/back. The port studio did not even do the due diligence to swap this for the Nintendo audience and it is a but disappointing. I had issues with this in Axiom Verge as well.
@NewAdvent: Same here. I became interested in the game once I learned StarFox was in. Waiting for the review before I decide whether to pick it up or not.
@BigKing: They are 3rd party devs though. But feel free to make exclusions to make your argument work! Although it still doesn't because 3rd party games are selling on Switch. You really have no leg to stand on cause your premise is untrue to begin with man!
@BigKing You're speculating on sales numbers just to fit your false premise that 3rd party games don't sell on Nintendo systems. Again, that's false, especially with the Switch. I'd agree that the Bethesda games likely sold a far less percentage of total game sales with Skyrim, Doom, and Wolf 2 but they've been out on the other two systems for far longer and are excellent but inferior versions. We have far too many Switch success stories and indies are cleaning up on the system, which alone slays your premise that 3rd party software doesn't sell on Nintendo systems. NDS, 3DS and Wii had tons of 3rd parties software sales.

Re: Surprise! 'Skyrim Anniversary Edition' Lands On Switch 2 Today
@MattmanForever Completely disappointing and inexcusable for this game to run at only 30fps on Switch 2. What the hell, Bethesda.

Re: Review: Turok 2: Seeds of Evil - A Painfully Incomplete Version Of An N64 Classic
Game is buggy. I got stuck in a wall and cannot move and have to restart the whole game after after getting all the Primagen keys. Sucks!
Re: Review: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition - An Incredible Action-RPG Stands Strong On Switch
Beat the game after 150 hours. Amazing game. Enjoyed every minute of it on Switch. On to the DLC!

It better come to Switch.
Re: Nintendo Switch Has Now Outsold The Mighty PlayStation 3 In Japan
@Kalmaro I outsold the PS4 a long time ago in Japan. It's now ~2 million units above the PS4 life-to-date

Kinda bummed it got a 6 but I'm still gonna pick it up once I'm done with DQXI.
Re: Pokémon Sword And Shield Is Japan's Fastest-Selling Switch Game
Lede should read "1.3 million sold AT RETAIL". This is a voucher game, so there was incentive to buy digital. 1.3 million is the sales FLOOR.
Re: Nintendo’s Share Price Takes A Hit Following Japanese Switch Lite Launch
@Prof_Yoshtonics 1.95 million in 10 days Absolutely amazing numbers. But to you, it would've done 9.5 million if not for drift huh? lol

Hellblade, FFVII, and Riptide GP Renegade. Trying to knock at least Hellblade out before I start Dragon's Dogma.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 23rd)
I'm playing Mario + Rabbids, Banner Saga, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, Tetris 99, Smash Bros. Ultimate and Riptide GP. I'm doing a lot!!

Re: A New Nintendo Switch Bundle Is On The Way With A $35 eShop Credit Code Included
Pretty nice deal and it incentivizes eShop purchases.
Re: Review: The Way Remastered (Switch eShop)
This was highly recommended on a Switch focused podcast. It's also only $0.99 cents on the eShop. So I bit. I'm looking forward to playing it!

@flapjack-ashley It's all but guaranteed to pass the Wii's 101 million
Re: Feature: The Final Wii U Games We'd Like To See On Switch In 2019
I'd personally like Xenoblade Chronicles X and Starfox Zero: non-Gamepad Controls Edition to come over to Switch more than anything.

@Nintendofan83 Yup. Add in the Pokemon Let's Go and Smash Ultimate bundles and I'm seeing a monster holiday season for Switch sales.
They will have no problem hitting that 20 million.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 8th)
