It's honestly more and more tempting to cancel my pre-order by the minute... I want to see a comparison of Zelda with the current/final build on Wii u as I'm sure the difference is a lot less than it looks on the e3 build and that's the only reason I'm planning to get the switch.

Still buying a Switch for Zelda but this is pretty terrible, unless it's very cheap (which it won't be). This will probably backfire and hurt sales of Splatoon as it'll be the only game worth playing online and that won't be enough

@Achoo you're forgetting we are now in the age where graphics are the most valued feature of games, and devs want the easiest path to getting their games out. If Nintendo continue to release underpowered hardware they will once again be left behind.

They're making the exact same mistake. You NEED multiplat and for that you need hardware that's actually on par with the competition. Don't do this again.

@Kirk It's not a cop-out, Journey is a linear 2 hour game where there is minimal gameplay, the visuals are half of it's selling point so of course it's stunning. I'm not sure how you can even compare them, Zelda is a huge dynamic world running on outdated hardware so obviously they have to sacrifice certain aspects. It's Nintendo's fault for having an underpowered console, but for what it is I think it does look beautiful. It still has 9 months anyway to improve and you could just wait for the NX version instead.

And I've played Ni No Kuni, the visuals are good but nothing special.

@Kirk None of those examples compare, most are very small games that can dedicate more resources to polishing, Ni No Kuni has zero gameplay shown, and of course Horizon looks better.

This is a perfectly good response. Character and story integrity is more important than forcing a female character. There are plenty of games now with female protagonists, go play those if it matters so much. I'm glad this is the direction they were interested in going down if they do decide to do this in the future anyway.

I couldn't be saltier about Zelda being delayed again. I can handle the NX stuff but it's such a poor choice to do this with Zelda, the Wii U version is now obsolete before it's even launched.

Again? I don't care about the game but this kind of censorship is always bad. People can decide for themselves what they want to purchase, put out the game you originally made or don't put it in to begin with.

Nintendo need to stop saying Link is simply a player vessel if they aren't going to give FULL customisation of him/her. Either commit to it or stop saying it and let Link remain an actual character.
