With Amazon.co.uk, my £2 pre-order saving on Smash and Yoshi mysteriously disappeared the day they stopped offering pre-order discounts.

9/10 seems rather high for what's effectively a full-priced compilation port with a 3-hour story mode, not much new game content and no 3D.

Perhaps someone somewhere could do some proper journalism, stick their neck out and ask Reggie why the words “Brand New Game” or something similar was not displayed for 5 seconds at the start of a 25 minute showreel.

From a corporate standpoint, Nintendo need to hold back games for when Switch starts to lose momentum. With Zelda BotW, Mario Kart, Splatoon and Mario Odyssey already out, there's not much left in the tank to kickstart sales when they drop off.

We need to stop being whiney, needy Nintendo nerds and be grateful that the days of dismal (Wii U) sales are behind us.

In Nintendo we trust.

Playtonic expect us to double dip. They'll hold off a physical copy until adding DLC or something else that wasn't included in the downloadable version.

Switch owners need to (not) vote with their wallets to discourage this practice. Otherwise it'll keep happening.

Hmm. Seems somewhat pricey for what it is. If it wasn’t for the GameCube component cable being so damn expensive I bet this would be significantly cheaper.

Luckily I bought a component cable from GameStop for $5 about 12 years ago. (Just a shame I didn’t buy the second one that they had!)

@Crono1973 Black Wii came out in May 2010. Red wii in November 2010 for The Holidays. (It was Smash that I was having problems with rather than Xenoblade but still due to the dual layer disc.) Lived in New York back then so I've a white and black American Wii. Also have a UK black Wii (that I bought for the parents and have recently inherited back from them) and a UK Wii Mini.

But I recently got a Wii mini from CEX for £28 which was a bargain as included a red wii remote plus and nunchuck.

On the flip side, if the components are that cheap to replace, Nintendo is clearly ripping us all off!

Had the same problem with my white wii but I used that as an excuse to buy a new black one.

Despite the list purporting to be for April and May, couldn’t resist the opportunity to stick in a load more affiliate links!

Why is XC2 so expensive? Switch cartridge tax?

Lived in HK for 4 years and got physical American imports of new Wii U and 3DS games in Wan Chai for less than they’d cost in the US, even before factoring in potential US tax. And no, they were not counterfeits.

How much is it?

What Nintendo could’ve done is convert legacy gold coins to the new rate before the changeover. There was nothing worth buying beforehand anyway so can’t imagine many would abuse the situation.

Or just bring back Club Nintendo. I got so many good things from that loyalty scheme.

As Mr. Ming doesn’t own the IP and is charging money for a physical version of this, I expect it’ll be shut down shortly by Nintendo.

@Dom I get why you didn’t include BotW or SMO in the article, but then why include a Something Else button on the poll?

Adding this option defeats the point of the poll in my opinion.

PS - I’m not angry like a certain someone whose pint of Guinness is always half-empty rather than half-full.
