Re: It's Film vs. Book in the Next European Splatoon 2 Splatfest

@Maxz Yeah, I probably should’ve qualified my argument more. I’m not denying the existence of insightful cinema (I did mention documentaries) but I don’t think film can provide the level of detail literature can. That detail is necessary for the most substantial, informed change in one’s worldview/opinion.

I think film has a very important place in culture and it can definitely improve us as people, but books still trump film by far in that category.

Team Book all the way. Reading hones your critical thinking skills and results in intellectual advancement. Watching movies will usually just dull your mental ability, unless its a documentary or something.

Becoming a smarter person, learning, and opening my mind to a world of new ideas > mindless entertainment

@Heavyarms55 I find this game so fun that I actually stopped playing Echoes for Heroes.

Okay, that’s only partially true. I did stop playing Echoes but only because I’m on the go so often that Heroes works for me

Super high quality and entertaining game with loads of new content regularly!

Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Gets Massive Update

@DarthXenos Takumi was on a banner for 9 days during the last Voting Gauntlet, so he wouldn't have been so hard to get if you saved up enough orbs.

If it makes you feel any better, he’s really only good for Skill Inheritance. Maybe Fujin Yumi+ will help him out.

Re: Review: Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon (3DS)

@Desa The problem is that the author didn’t justify his review in any way. We don’t have to play the game to know the rating is souped-up.

“Here are all the features of the game. Therefore, it deserves a 10/10!”

For such a high rating, the reviewer did not justify it with much opinion.

Re: Super Mario Run Passes 200 Million Downloads as Nintendo Seeks Mobile Success

JubilifeRival

@Heavyarms55 I think that’s the point of mobile games. They aren’t supposed to compare to console games, they’re just fun when you’re on the train or waiting in line or something.

That is their purpose, and Nintendo apps fulfill this purpose amazingly. So you’re criticizing them for fulfilling their purpose and exceeding standards.

FEH is one of the best, if not the best app I’ve played. I’ve probably put in around 50-100 hours into it, although it’s tough to gauge. And all for free too!

That doesn’t compare to the 300+ hours I’ve put into Awakening and Fates, but it’s impressive and illustrates that Nintendo apps get the job done.

Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Adding Characters From Genealogy of the Holy War

JubilifeRival

Absolutely have been loving this app. IS keeps creating new events and content, so it’s so hard to get bored of.

I can’t help but wonder why NL wrote an article for these new characters though. There have been plenty of other additions (in terms of characters and gameplay changes), but the last article I remember on FEH was the CYL event.

@HeroponRiki I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but you do realize that Square Enix shovels out RPGs like there's no tomorrow?

A hit here or there (like Bravely Default) doesn't mean that every RPG they make will be a "big game." I've tried out many of them and they're typically mediocre.

Although once again the Bravely series is amazing.

Re: Guide: Tips for Winning Splatoon 2's Splatfests

JubilifeRival

So... a guide to Turf War, then?

I mean, that should've been expected, but I can't imagine there are many people in need of this guide right now.

It would've made more sense to explain earning Splatfest titles and Sea Snails, explaining the 3 map system and Shifty Station, etc.
