Developer and publisher Rebellion has shared a brand new trailer for the upcoming Sniper Elite V2 Remastered today, providing seven different reasons why it believes players should upgrade to (or simply buy - for those who have only owned Nintendo systems) the new release.
This remastered edition of the game features vastly updated visuals, with new rendering effects, enhanced textures, and much more besides, and all of the previously DLC is included as part of the package. Of course, the 4K and HDR support available on other platforms can't be offered on Nintendo's machine, but it's still looking rather lovely to us.
If you'd rather read all about those seven reasons, instead of watching the video, we have them listed for you below. The frame-by-frame photo mode seems like a cool little touch.
- Incredible Remastered Visuals - Sniper Elite V2 Remastered features beautifully updated environments, characters, weapons and vehicles, modernized rendering and post-processing effects, enhanced texturing and level geometry, a revamped lighting system, and dozens upon dozens of improvements and refinements.
- New Frame-by-frame Photo Mode - Pause and step through the action frame-by-frame, position the camera, apply a filter, adjust the lighting and take stunning photos to share with the community. Including your epic X-Ray kill camera shots.
-New Playable Characters – For the first time, play the campaign and multiplayer modes as one of 8 new characters from Rebellion’s Zombie Army series.
- Optional 60fps Performance Mode – On supported platforms, enjoy Sniper Elite V2 Remastered’s epic campaign in super smooth 60 frames-per-second.
- All DLC Included – Experience the infamous “Kill Hitler” mission. Take the fight to new fronts in three new campaign levels. Hunt your foes with a variety of iconic weapons including the Lee Enfield MK III, M1D Garrand, M1 Carbine and more.
- Multiplayer & Co-Op – Gather your squad and compete in 7 uniquely tense multiplayer modes, now for up to 16 players online [Note - Nintendo Switch supports up to 8 players online]. Including Deathmatch, Distance King, Dogtag Harvest and Capture the Flag
- 4K and HDR support – Stunning 4K HDR support transports you to the front line [Note - not available on Switch]
As a reminder, Sniper Elite V2 Remastered launches on 14th May for £29.99 / $34.99 / €34.99, although a 10% discount is available to those who choose to pre-order.

Day one purchase for me
60 frames a second on support platforms...meaning the switch will not hit that. 16 multiplayer except on witch that will have 8 and local 4 player. Darn you mean I can't have HDR and 4K? lol
All in all I saw nothing that was switch gameplay and how it runs. I will wait even when they give the reasons. Let's face it this trailer is not meant for the switch audience.
Good game, but even with the extra features I just don't know if I really want to replay it. Now if they were bringing Sniper Elite 4, I'd definitely get that one. Don't imagine it would work on Switch though.
I prefer more linear games & loved sniper elite 4 so will get this. I love my Switch, bit this is the sort of game I'd want to play on my PS4. 60fps is a big factor - I tend to only play exclusives on the Switch.
Good game... if you somehow missed it - it is worth it.
But Everyone else can just get the much better Sniper Elite 4 for $14 PC/$19 PS4 at this point. Get that if you can.
If this had a physical release then I'm buying it for sure.
@retro_player_22 It has!
Is this coming out physically or just download only?
MULTIPLAYER! Totally in now!
@N8tiveT3ch You might wanna check out the video that @BensonUii linked to in comment #8.
And besides that, the 60fps mode is an additional feature for this remastered version. It was never a thing in the original version, so it will most definitely NOT hinder gameplay or make it "inferior" on the Switch.
I have the game on the Xbox 360, and it is perfectly fine in 30fps.
They could have also just ported that Xbox 360 version to the Switch and it would still be a great game to have on the go, or at home.
I never played this series before, but I am seriously considering it now.
@BensonUii I think I saw it being mentioned in a trailer, so I take it it should be there. And it SHOULD.
@BensonUii Found it, the Switch trailer mentions it. I think it's the same one as on the eshop, but here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-VjWbBskJc
"Of course, the 4K and HDR support available on other platforms can't be offered on Nintendo's machine, but it's still looking rather lovely to us."
But of course!
Can add
1 gyro motion aiming
2 handheld play
3 local multiplayer
to the Switch version specifically. Which is worth all the 4ks and HDR-QPMSZs in the world and then some
My biggest issue with v2 was the AI, was hoping it’s improved but doesn’t appear to be based on this. Back on release most times on your first shot all enemies were alerted to your position, made stealth really difficult to near impossible
@ozwally I’m curious about this as it was the same with 4. Anyone know the solution to this?
@andykara2003
Strategically snipe them out while taking cover... pretty much. I think the game is designed to specifically not just let you hang back and snipe people one by one without any conflict whatsoever.
If you want stealth, you have to get close and come up from behind.
@andykara2003 I played 4 on PC when it released and found the AI better than 2, I could use stealth more, though it’s still not perfect. I skipped 3 so might give that a shot when it releases
@JaxonH @BensonUii Done! This is the Switch-specific trailer for the game. https://youtu.be/n-VjWbBskJc
@JaxonH @ozwally Thanks guys, this helps 👍
@JoakimZ has it???? Awesome! Physical it’s a day one. Digital I’d wait for sale
I didn't realize nintendo switch was capable of doing 4k in HDR....😂😂😂...
@Stocksy For once Digital is cheaper on release. £26.99 if you preorder. £29.99 everywhere else for physical
