Following the rumours from earlier this week, Blizzard Entertainment has now confirmed the existence of the Loot Goblin amiibo - arriving at some point this December. The exclusive amiibo for Diablo III: Eternal Collection will allow Switch players to summon a portal and gain access to "untold riches" according to the official description. The announcement was delivered via the company's official Twitter account:
Arguably, it's the most unique-looking third-party amiibo yet - featuring a red base and a design that does not perfectly match the original creature in the game. Noticeably, the packaging for the amiibo is also different. Many Blizzard fans have pointed out the figurine is a recoloured version of an existing Treasure Goblin toy from the Cute But Deadly series. If any other Diablo-themed amiibo are revealed, it'll likely be at BlizzCon's main event starting on 2nd November and finishing on 3rd November.

I really like it !
Looks pretty cute! I want one! lol.
That's the most Funko Pop amiibo box I've ever seen.
I'll likely buy it if I see it b/c it's red but I'm not camping out or pre-ordering.
It's a recoloring of another figure... Super Lazy by Blizz and Nintendo: https://old.reddit.com/r/amiibo/comments/9tdf24/the_loot_amiibo_is_a_recoloring_of_a_previous/
Why is it pooping gold and how can I make mine do that.
I think it looks cheap. Can't wait for the game to arrive...but I'll pass on the Amiibo.
This doesn't look like a Nintendo Treehouse summary.
I want it so bad!
Preordered it before it runs completely out of inventory. And it will just because collectors will get them before anyone does. Problem here is this is a Amiibo that has functions the other one doesn't and isn't a collectors value either.
Neat. But I think I will pass on this one, unless I just get lucky and find it in a store.
Hm, well it's interesting, I'll probably pick it up if I can.
I'm broke and it's not even December., I would really like it if all amiibo came in boxes like this I really like the packaging.
I've never played a Diablo game, and currently have no interest in playing Diablo 3, but yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll be adding this to my Amiibo collection.
It's up for preorder at GameStop (where it's an exclusive) in the US.
@SwitchForce Collectors aren't the ones that take all of these but rather resellers typically.
I'm torn on this, I think it's cool but lazy. I hate Funko Pops as yo me they are lazy fascimilies of the real thing and this looks like one. The other thing I dislike as much or more is the exclusivity to Gamestop where a preorder incures a mandatory $5 shipping charge with no store pickup, so it's actually almost $23 with tax.
Despite all this I put in my preorder but will likely cancel later and see if I can pickup in store if I decide to get it. This would have been so much cooler if it looked remotely like the actual goblin in the game.
@KIREEK Not even a little
@ReaderRagfish
Absolutely not. You’ll forget to feed it and walk it, and it’ll poop all over the carpet.
@Nico07 Collectors can buy as many or few as they want. A-typical collectors just get one unless you get one to use and one to keep in box. There's no fast rule on this.
I swear when the third parties put their hands in the amiibo creation it gets weird. Like the skylanders ones. Yet, when they go “hey I want an amiibo, here you make it “ we get good ones like shovel knight or megaman’s designs.
Sucks they made it cartoony instead of how it actually looks ingame. Guess they want it to fit when standing next to the other amiibos from nintendos own games.
But also destroys my hopes of getting a female crusader amiibo in the future... Oh well.
It really looks cute. Good job!
I hate the design of this amiibo, so I’ll definitely be skipping this one.
I don't know, the re-use of the sculpt is kinda lazy but not the worst thing they could have done. It's more the different amiibo base and the fact it's the exact same shade of red as the figure that bugs me. Plus even the packaging is bland.
@Nico07 It appears that way because it's a re-colour of a figurine they are already selling separately:

@XenoShaun You have to beat the crap out of it.
@Octane I think the reuse of another lines design is disappointing, given it doesn’t fit with the theme of Amiibo where the figures actually resemble thebin game counterpart.
Do a Google and look at the other Diablo figures in the series as a possible taste of things to come. I hope I’m wrong as (in my opinion) Diablo itself has a terrible version.
Lazy cheap gits.
Hideous. What else can we put on an NFC chip & call it an Amiibo?
