Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying Any Game-Key Card Switch 2 Games?

Jester676

@no_donatello Nintendo's track record for closing their online stores is WAY too bad to consider this.

What track record? You can still download your eShop games you bought. You need to provide where your getting this your talking point from?

@LastFootnote Not to be a Nintendo apologist, but have they actual shut down the ability to re-download things you own on any of their systems?

Nintendo eShop you bought and download are still active you can't access those eShop anymore - they removed that feature.

@no_donatello Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty certain that, yes, you can no longer download anything you purchased on Wii, Wii U and 3DS.

I read somewhere someone fired up their Wii or WiiU and was able to redownload their eShop purchases. So those are still available it's the eShop store can't be accessed.

Re: Nightdive Studios' CEO Says That Game-Key Cards On Switch 2 Is "Disheartening"

Jester676

The problem people forget here is "Key-Card" takes up valuable exSD storage to download and play the game. Did people not realize this will happen exSD storage is up to 1tb if they plan us to use exSD we need up to 4tb of space. I rather have initial on FULL cart and updates/DLC as needed for download. If the cart is 64gb and you pay more so be it. People will gladly pay to insure they don't need to use download to play.

Re: Nightdive Studios' CEO Says That Game-Key Cards On Switch 2 Is "Disheartening"

Jester676

"Key-Card" isn't the same as Physical Full game cart. Other then updates need for games/DLC they aren't equal. Also you put Full cart and people will buy it. You can make either a "Key-Card" or Full cart option and see what people buy. As to MEGs the game carts are my understanding from 8gb to 64gb so now sure why someone is talking MEGs isn't Gigabyte storage. All Publishers can do is put on big as possible Full Cart and charge accordingly and there will be buyers.

Game cards for the Nintendo Switch range from 1 to 32 gigabytes in capacity. Nintendo had planned to introduce 64 GB game cards by the second half of 2018, but had to push this back.

Re: Switch 2's Dock Isn't Compatible With The Original Switch, According To Nintendo

Jester676

This is what happens when the tech changes you can't go backwards. You can use your Switch 1 games in Switch 2 and if they have updates take advantage of the Switch 2 power and graphics for better gameplay or not but have upgrade hardware to improve gameplay. There are also hardware specs from different HDMI port version and cable, Power adapter watts being different and larger dock because size of Switch 2 is wider so OLED size probably will not fit properly and could damage the Switch 1 models. Remember Nintendo isn't our friend they are in the business of making Consoles and games for the consumer whom wants to buy in return for their investments and shareholders first.

Re: Marvelous USA Confirms Its Switch 2 Physical Releases Will Contain The "Full Game"

Jester676

@AllBLK The servers will inevitably shut down one day and you're left with a lot of useless cartridges.
FYI, people can still download their eShop games - you can no longer go to those eShop to buy games they shutdown the eShop so no one can purchase on them. So the doom/gloom is Misinformation Spreading. The day Nintendo goes under you can guarantee Xbox, PS will go as well before Nintendo does. You can no longer go to those eShop to buy but you can download your history purchases.

Re: Limited Run's Atlus Switch 2 Collector's Edition Is A 'Game-Key Card' Release

Jester676

@ElkinFencer10 You've missed the point here all together already. Most games besides Nintendo games some require updates before play that is typical now. There are full cart games that can play without updates on Nintendo. People are talking about the amount they are charging but yet can't even put it on a 64gb cart and then any extra to download to play. The exSD cards are precious resources.

Re: Switch 2's Dock Isn't Compatible With The Original Switch, According To Nintendo

Jester676

@Hwatt I wasn’t expecting the Switch 2 dock to support Switch 1, it is Nintendo after. It’s just a missed opportunity. Nintendo being Nintendo if you will…

That's not true. Why should they keep supporting Switch 1 when they are going towards Switch 2 hardware levels? I think your thinking hey why not put my Switch 1 into the Switch 2 dock and get 4k. That's not going to happen.

Re: GameStop Apparently Investigating New York Store Over Sus Switch 2 Bundle Sales

Jester676

@masterLEON I find when people just say they confirm but there nothing to confirm that? So noone in this digital age even has a video or audio happening for PreOrders? Unless people can give something more tangible then saying it happened to them that has nothing for anyone to backtrack the issue. If people are going to come out they should have something of substance so the rest can dig into what going on.

Re: Switch 2's Dock Isn't Compatible With The Original Switch, According To Nintendo

Jester676

The new dock is for Switch 2 and power needs the older units will not match it's specs it's not that hard to figure that out. Core gamers most likely figured this would happen. They aren't the same dimension so it won't fit and also the power needs are different as well. I do wished they had USBC ports on the Dock it's 2025 and they couldn't give one more besides the power connector port?

Re: Poll: So, Did You Manage To Get A Switch 2 Pre-Order In? (North America)

Jester676

@RetroBox This isn't the 2017 LCD people keep using this but the tech has changed and there is a reason why they use LCD for VRR and GSync OLED at that size would price out the Switch 2. This has been explained over and over. Also the brightness is far better then OLED and there are youtubers clearly showing this. You should go watch those experiences and see how they compare the OLED to Switch 2 LCD the difference is more then obvious. Also the price for any future Switch 3 or Switch 4 is never going to be 350.99 or such anymore so people need to come to this realization here.

Re: Poll: Which Switch 2 Accessories Are You Picking Up At Launch?

Jester676

@DwaynesGames Good question. I don’t think it has been confirmed yet (i.e if the Switch 2 controller will work with Switch 1).
From little info I can find it sounds like it doesn't Switch 1 controllers will work on Switch 2 but not the other way around and probably has to do with the "C" and backpaddles are configured differently since those most likely are for Switch 2 only games. So I have to look more to see but I don't think Switch 2 Pro/Joy-Con will work in reverse.

Here's what Nintendo FAQ says:
"Nintendo Switch™ 2 Pro Controller"
https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/nintendo-switch-2-pro-controller-123674/?srsltid=AfmBOooup7NoP8NE6tm5c7XhXMrXvh-Pn3y2nEycAstsiQ9lnCFITjSA
Only for use with the Nintendo Switch 2 system.

@Misima So where are these reports at?

Re: Elden Ring Has Now Shipped Over 30 Million Copies Ahead Of Switch 2 Launch

Jester676

@ryan_nil The price alone they will charge if "Key-Card" game should put on card and users can download the rest of DCL/Extra. They are making it harder for the price they are charging. Not sure what is meant by NS2 limitations??? Making it a "Full" download eats precious storage for either internal or exSD card. Rather then only download the DLC/Extra by itself.

Re: Elden Ring Has Now Shipped Over 30 Million Copies Ahead Of Switch 2 Launch

Jester676

@ryan_nil If CyberPunk2077 can do it Oblivian can as well. Even if they can fit most on 64gb card and the last part are DLC to download most people would gladly pay Switch 2 card price. And then they can download the DLC or extra. Downloading only ~20gb is far better then wasting exSD card storage space or worse Internal Storage of 256gb minus 80gb and that is already bad.

Re: Nintendo Of America President On Timing Of Switch 2's Release Date

Jester676

I think alot of NA schools gets out around that week so why not timed it for that release. There be a lot of under 18 wanting Switch 2 games and MKW to game as well. Bowser dropped the ball, he could've gotten the Switch 2 experience tutorial preloaded on Switch 2 NA units but looks like his head was where the sun doesn't shine or NOA HQ told him to shutup and takeit up the bunng and scream uncle. That's what alot of people think since he was so absent from NOA NY and not making a peep.

Re: Poll: Which Switch 2 Accessories Are You Picking Up At Launch?

Jester676

Getting Pro and Joy-Con2 charge because of the GS, GL buttons. Got two Switch 2/MKW bundle will get games later. I plan first to get the upgrade for BOTW/TOTK. And then see what comes later if I upgrade my Switch 1 games or get Switch 2 games. I got some but will wait until closer to June 5. Carry case and protector you can find 3rd party on Amazon right now? Sure if you want Switch 2 case but if you get something like Genki gripcase and case hold will that Grip fit into the Switch 2 case holder???

Re: Every Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Card Release

Jester676

@Zuljaras You forgot to mention that it requires internet connection the first time you START the game as well. It is not only for download. Which means that it needs another authentication from Nintendo Servers. It is odd because you just downloaded the data.

This was debunked already. First time in new Switch 2 you need to download the game and requires it to be slotted just like a Full Cart game needs to be slotted to play the game. Only time it needs connections is first time to download to the Switch 2 then Key-Card slotted everytime you play the game.
