Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Dev Tells Studios "Do Not Underestimate The Physical Edition"

Jester676

@larrythumbs People can still download their purchased eShop games they can no longer access eShop to make purchases that is what is removed. The myth that it goes away is far and few in-between so this Doom/Gloom people are having is a false narrative they are saying to themselves. The day Nintendo Folds and goes under you can guarantee any eShop games will be wiped clean and forget about any re-downloading. When that time comes for Nintendo that will also mean that XBox and PS will be also long gone as well.

Re: Talking Point: With Prices Rising, Are Your Gaming Habits Changing?

Jester676

@bleeflooflah I'm transitioning over to Playstation. Nintendo games never going on sale, plus 3rd party sales still being more expensive than they are on PS, I can't justify the gouging anymore.
Huh? And you think Sony games will go on sale because you want them to? PS5 consoles cost more then Switch 2 your justification is on very shaky grounds here.

Re: Former Assassin's Creed Lead Isn't Happy About Switch 2's Game-Key Cards

Jester676

@1UP-HUSKY Just allow to have more variety in sizes for the cards and if you want to sell it in stores then force developers to put the actual game on it.
It's not like they sell these versions cheaper then if the game would be in it.

That's the problem why are they charging full card game prices if your going to use only "Key-Card". They can make 1g-64g Switch 2 cards I doubt it cost anymore since Publisher will charge from 50-70$ a game. They can't factor the price for the full cart game? Nintendo can do it especially since the "Key-Card" doesn't require eShop to download or if it does doesn't require a Nintendo account connected to do so. What others on here Fail to address is this requres exSD storage and the more "Key-Card" games you get the more space you loose thus you will have to delete the games download for other games to download. And considering exSD are only 1tb that doesn't take a 50-64g games to eat up that storeage. Now if Switch 2 had two exSD slots that would be different but that's not the case here or a 4tb exSD card that would be great but that would burn a blaster in your wallet as well. This forces me now to have a dedicate exSD 512-1tb just for "Key-Card" games so as to not waste my standard exSD games updates/DLC choices.

Because caring about ownership advocacy is somehow a bad thing and worthy of shaming others over. "Don't ask questions. just consume product and get excited for next product."

Nintendo can make Switch 2 cards from 1g to 64g and have the publishers buy and charge accordingly. That's not hard since Nintendo is moving over to Switch 2 cards.

1. It costs a lot less to manufacture a game-key card that putting the data on the cartridge.
And why do YOU care about that? This is not your business to care about. Your business is to ask for the best possible product. Why defend the company for cheaping out?

No one here has any info on this to make any comparisons. Nintendo is doing the Sony PSP/Vita memory card debacle again. They can do it they have yet to explain why they can't. Best possible product is "FULL game cart" that's what we want anything else less is just junk.

2. It's better than a code-in-a-box because I can loan these to my friends or sell them.
Wait til a game company that didn't pay their taxes has their game revoked from the download queue because the government demanded it. It already happened with a Company called Sol Press in the VN sphere and caused those who bought their VNs to lose access to them.

People can still re-download their Previous Nintendo consoles eShop games, eShop isn't gone so stop with this Doom/Glooming. The time eShop is gone the Earth will be part of the Sun. Those small samples of wiped games don't hold water. You can't no longer buy on those eShop because they are closed to any purchases.

3. Game-Key Cards were already present on Switch 1 (see Just Dance or NBA 2K games)
and people were pissed then when AAA companies cheaped out. Why is this suddenly an argument in favor of them?

Those are "Code-in-Box" games they aren't the same as "Key-Cart". KC license are on the cart and must be inserted to play the game everytime just like a full physical game cart. CIB are tied to your Nintendo eShop account-there is no lending or resale and or giveway.

4. Most games get Day 1 Patches or just patches in general, so the idea of a game being completely playable off the cartridge is a ship that's sailed.
I'm sorry, who is this most? Because most games on the switch were AAs and indies, and they usually released content-complete in box. I should know, that is most of my library.

They do get some Day One Patch but can be played without the patches while some require it for bug fixes for the game to work. So they do have game all cart play so this is a giving out misinformation at best.

Re: Talking Point: With Prices Rising, Are Your Gaming Habits Changing?

Jester676

@AllBLK I'm focusing more on my backlog. I have enough games to last me a lifetime if I never buy anything else.

I will keep my physical Switch 1 games and probably buy Switch 2 game updates. Only time I will get Switch 2 full cart games is if they are LE, CE, or SE editions. If I can get it cheaper with Switch 1 games I will go with Switch 1 games physical first.

Re: The Company That "Leaked" Switch 2 Is Being Sued By Nintendo

Jester676

They should've used render images without showing NS2 logos to avoid problematic situations. I think that was probably the deal breaker. 3D printing is one thing as they could make it look how they think it looks and still get away. Most like settle out of court and survive maybe or get probation and not be able to make NS products for how many years or pay settlement and get leaner or become vaporware? Guess see what Genki replies back.

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Strategy Games

Jester676

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (Switch)
I loved this game but my niece and nephew hasn't my copy back so I can continue my game saved file. Hoping Nintendo make a combo pack of these two game so I can replay this again.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 6 Has Been Delayed And Will Now Launch In May 2026

Jester676

Delays to me is just that they are doing Dev Kits for Switch 2. They can release at the same time why do people think Switch 2 can't handle it now or what? It can run CyberPunk 2077 Ultimate and people still think this as is Switch 2017 again. These short-sightness is why people pigeon hole themselves in again.

Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying Any Game-Key Card Switch 2 Games?

Jester676

@ROBLOGNICK They're just a waste of plastic and will become worthless once the servers shut down.
By that time Earth will become part of the Sun. These doom/gloom posters are just that. Like what server has shutdown, Please tell us? Digital publisher don't have to make it cheap they can keep prices MSRP forever and they can pull the game from Nintendo so they have no control of the Game itself. That will happen long before servers shut down. Publisher can be bought out or go out of business and forget any updates Nintendo will remove the game as no Publisher supports it anymore. So what then? Where did you digital go? Only saving grace "Key-Card" if one did it smart was download to exSD card and there it lives no server can take it away and can be used supposedly on another Switch 2 since License key is the "Key-Card" itself and not tied to Nintendo account.

Re: Switch Users Are Getting Error Codes After Updating To Version 20.0.0

Jester676

It's called "Bricking" your system. They clearly instruct you not to power off or restart the system when it's updating. They "Bricked" their own system by being "Dumb and Dumber" that is why. I closed and saved all games loads and let the system update and restart and both OLEDs works just fine. It's called "Lack of reading comprehension" and stop messing with the system when it's updating. Even Windows update when updating it ask the user not to power off or restart the system. If people can't follow simply instructions then they have other issues other then "Bricking" their Switch consoles.

Re: Nightdive Studios' CEO Says That Game-Key Cards On Switch 2 Is "Disheartening"

Jester676

@BinaryMessiah Game key cards are code in a box with extra steps
Steps in how?
1. Enter eShop to enter the code - select game and download
1. Key-Card insert and download game right away No eShop

2. CID - tied to your Nintendo account
2. Key-Card - tied to your cart and required to play everytime

3. CID - no resale or giveway
3. Key-Card - resale/giveaway - return in investments

4. CID - Pay Publisher prices stay high regardless how old game is
4. Key-Card - Market forces will determine value of older games.

Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying Any Game-Key Card Switch 2 Games?

Jester676

Nintendo can lower their cart prices but since no one here can tell anyone what exactly is the cart prices to make them that anyone's guess at this point.
Like I said just give publishers options and say if you put full Game Cart you can charge more. Don't see how any publishers can loose to put FULL cart game and charge more for it. That's what PreOrders are for people pay upfront and get Full cart games and if they can't delivery then refund them back. That will force "Real Honest" Publishers to make FULL cart game worthy of the consumer wants.

Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying Any Game-Key Card Switch 2 Games?

Jester676

I find it comical people talk about coming to PC really you think Nintendo IP is coming to PC? You people have some weird fantasies going on here. Where do you think Xbox is bringing there games to? Switch 2, even spencer said that as much. These are probably the same people saying "Drop the Price". With Switch 2 you have Nintendo IP and XBox IP games and yet you want to go PC and Steam? Something doesn't add up here with those comments. Odd thing is people forget there are Switch 1 versions of the game and you just buy or get free updates for Switch 2 gameplay. So there you have you physical for Switch 2 and even then you can still play Switch 1 games on Switch 2 console.

Re: Xbox Is Raising The Price Of Consoles, Accessories, And Games Worldwide

Jester676

I think people forget PS5 and XboxS(don't recall if they are even made in the US anymore) is made in China and that is the problem alot of poster tend to forget on here. That's why the price spike for NA markets get hit at. If PS and XBox diversified like Nintendo did then they could've less some of the tariffs. China Nintendo Switch 2 is for the rest of the world and Vietnam is for NA(US/Cananda) market. But soon Nintendo will mostly likely move the NA hardware side out of the tariff zone to reduce the cost as well.
