Jester676

Re: Nintendo Removes Worrying Cloud Save Note From Select Switch 2 Game Pages

Jester676

For one thing DK is for Switch 2 console where and how did one think it would work on Switch 1 console?

This is important people should at least understand this:
Now that Nintendo has changed its wording, it sounds like the Switch 2 versions of BotW and TotK do, in fact, support cloud saves, but these backups won't transfer from a Switch 2 to an original Switch.

Re: Nintendo Removes Worrying Cloud Save Note From Select Switch 2 Game Pages

Jester676

According to this new disclaimer, "Save data created in the second save data slot in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition cannot be transferred to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on Nintendo Switch".
This one sounds more like what I would expect because of the upgraded games can't work on Switch 1 consoles.

Re: Opinion: Steam Deck Fans Are Seriously Underestimating The Switch 2

Jester676

SteamDeck is akin to comparing Apples to Oranges so different and contents. Not only that but roughly 7mils SteamDeck vs 150mils Switch 1 consoles? What does that tell anyone and over 1bils Software sales. There is no comparisons to be had here nor power comparisons and hardware. But people keep using the DF debunked myths because Nintendo is now doing the impossible and they can't accept this reality. And fact it can Dock play for a Portable console.

Re: Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma Switch 2 Cart Will Apparently Also Work On Switch 1

Jester676

Here's the latest I read...

About Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games
https://www.nintendo.com/us/gaming-systems/switch-2/featured-games/switch-2-edition/

The interesting part is this:

Features and content of a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition game can only be played on Nintendo Switch 2.

If you already have the original Nintendo Switch game—as either a physical or digital version—you can upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition by purchasing the game's upgrade pack from Nintendo eShop, My Nintendo Store, or retailers. After you upgrade, the original Nintendo Switch game can still be played on Nintendo Switch, though the features and content of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition can only be played on Nintendo Switch 2.

Re: Digital Foundry Delivers First Impressions Of Switch 2 - "It Stands Alone In What It Does"

Jester676

Here we go again dumping on the Switch2 as though it's performance is a PS4 levels and never admitting it is on par with XboxS/PS5 levels. I guess it let's them sleep at nights. PS4 has been debunked and can't produce good results when there is more graphics demands. And vs videos have shown it's on PS5 levels but not for Raw performance but people dismiss this and that's why they will never leave PS4 levels while everyone else moves on.

When people says this:
It fits a good PS4/Xbox handheld
What handheld? This is just comical...typical dumping on Switch 2.

Re: Digital Foundry Delivers First Impressions Of Switch 2 - "It Stands Alone In What It Does"

Jester676

To me DF has already lost credibility how they treated Cyberpunk 2077 and FF extrate Switch 2 reviews told more then enough they don't qualify to be listened to for any sounds judgements. Switch 2 plays on the level of PS5 but not for "RAW" performance it can never match that but RT/DLSS puts in the lege of PS5 graphics levels and XboxS series levels. But that is all lost when anything DF says. Their not listening to how Nvidia has 10x graphics performance is telling how they view Nintendo/Nvidia for the leap in tech and performances.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Confirmed As The First Switch 2 Title To Use Nvidia's DLSS Upscaling

Jester676

We already heard from Cyberpunk 2077 team as to why it's only on PS5, NS2 for good reasons the PS5 is raw performance can do all the magic to make it good and NS2 with PS5 ultimate edition showcases what newer tech can do to a game the launched back then to better gameplay and graphics as the same time. But for some reason DF keeps using PS4, SteamDeck as those aren't in the equation as neither of those can handle the most recent "Ultimate Edition" that is why CDRed make this updated version for. So end of the day DF clearly has alot of explaining why they keep used outdates tech mindset when NS2 isn't on the same level of tech from 2017. That's what it seems to me they keep using NS1 2017 tech to dismiss NS2 - that isn't the same console or tech behind the console for good reason. Another reason Nintendo don't give DF any Devs kits or prototype to test probably because they have good reasons not to. For me this is why DF has lost alot of credibility as anything they said is in the lens of NS1 2017 not NS2 2025.

Re: What's Palworld Dev's Defence Against Nintendo's Lawsuit? Pikmin 3, Apparently

Jester676

This is also like case of the "Mario-Karts" in real life and Nintendo sued them and I think it was ruled for Nintendo in that case. But I also think in this case it's the fact that the amount of gamers playing it scared Nintendo/GF that was "Why didn't we think of that" epiphany that caught them off guard. And also the graphics are better as well so that is probably what scared GF the most that Pokémon players will now ask why is GF so Lazy at making the graphics better. I highly suspect as well that Nintendo/GF didn't think someone can best them at their own game creations. Big Company to fails don't like this when it happens to them.

Re: The Switch 2's New Magnetic Joy-Con Originally Didn't Have A Release Button

Jester676

@Greenspan Unless it's like tapes or VCR. And if Switch carts and memory microSD uses tech different from tape/VCR formats. There's more replies on the site as well over this.

Here's what one says about it:
https://www.quora.com/How-strong-of-a-magnet-do-you-need-to-erase-the-data-on-an-old-fashioned-tape-backup-system-as-in-one-of-those-things-that-spins-around-with-reels-and-tapes

If a very powerful magnet is placed near a Micro SD card, will the magnet erase the data inside?
Flash drives store data with electric charges, not magnetic bubbles. A strong magnet has no effect on a flash drive.

Flash Drive Myth #1: The USB connectors on flash drive are fragile. Not even close. Connectors on USBs are made of metal and resists damage or bending. The rest of the USB drive, however, is not. So while it is possible to break or damage the connectors, it’s more likely you’ll damage the other components, many of which are made of plastic.

Flash Drive Myth #2: Magnets can damage or erase USB Drives. USB drives cannot be harmed or altered by magnetic fields. The drives are not built from magnetic materials. So magnets pose no danger to any flash memory including SSDs, SD cards, and external hard drives—even traditional hard drives are immune. In fact, hard drives use powerful magnets to move the head.

Flash Drive Myth #3: USBs are ruined when dunked in water. Only if they are powered up; simply putting a flash drive into water does not hurt it. But if one of your drives does get wet, put it in a jar of uncooked rice or silica gel for a day. Later, make sure it is dry, then plug it in. There’s a good chance it will still be working and will not have lost any data.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 US Pre-Orders Start 24th April, System & Launch Game Pricing Unchanged

Jester676

@Abrammchi The price alone for both Switch 2 standard and Switch 2/MKW is a shocker to some and those with Families this is the consumer they need in the "long-term". It's software that will keep it selling but initial buy-in is what they want - if they want to keep the hardware sales going. I think they will eventually get to 100 mils but not as fast as Switch 1 as that had so many things aka Covid and ACNH that well for better or worse helped it. This time around it's just the console and games prices that will determine the pace of sales after the 1st or up to the 3rd wave of inventory. It's the next year 2026 is when we will really see how fast it grows.

Re: Nintendo Removes Variable Refresh Rate TV Mention On Switch 2 Websites

Jester676

I suspect this comes into issue with Switch 1 games that don't need updates to play on Switch 2. This would sound plausible is the big issue and until those publishers or Nintendo can find work around it was just safe for now to remove wording or they actually hardware disabled that and will create firmware that will auto-on or auto-off VRR for games that can't use that feature on-the-fly SWITCHing(pun).

Re: MicroSD Express Cards Are Selling Out Thanks To Switch 2 Fever

Jester676

I think the Lexar 512, 1tb will come back after June 5 launch for Switch 2 sake otherwise there be alot of unhappy Switch 2 owners that would like to have that option. I for one would like this to happen if I purchase "Key-Card" games so I can download and save to the larger exSD card rather then take space on the exSD used for Game update/DLC options. It will be two exSD at that time but one will keep "Key-Card" just for that reason.

Re: Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma Switch 2 Cart Will Apparently Also Work On Switch 1

Jester676

According to the site, the red Switch 2 cart contains the full Switch 1 game and the Switch 2 Upgrade Pack, but it can be inserted into and played on either console.
Can someone point to me where NL says Switch 2 version can be played in Switch 1 from their FAQ? Not what someone says it says but where it says so?
