Re: Upcoming Splatoon Update to Include Stage and Weapon Tweaks Along With Sheldon's Picks

HeroOfTime32

@shani yeah most definitely. I don't think I've picked it up to play since holiday '14. Hopefully this weekend when I boot it up, it's like you said--a whole new game.

That's pretty cool. The head developer should be pretty moved. He created what is essentially, the most successful new IP of the past couple years. I just hope Nintendo doesn't let the heat fizzle. They should definitely ride splatoon into the next gen of consoles and keep the hype going.

Everything is so fresh. The mechanics. The art style. The characters. My favorite part is....the music! Na na na na....nananana!!! I love the theme.

Even though voice chat isn't needed in this gen of splatoon like others mentioned, I hope they take the core game and expand upon it in the (hopefully eventual) sequel. There should definitely be at least private party chat in that. fingers crossed

Re: Rumour: The Next Call Of Duty Game Is Boldly Venturing Into Space

HeroOfTime32

If the NX is as easy to port to as the rumors suggest, then I see no reason why this won't come to NX. Also, Activision won't miss a chance to gamble on the NX, especially if it comes at a low cost. '

Also, let's not forget that at launch there is a LOT less competition in regards to other available titles. This seems likely.

Re: Review: Pokkén Tournament (Wii U)

HeroOfTime32

For someone who doesn't like certain fighters due to combination inputs and having to remember certain moves, is this something I would like?? I like Smash Bros because of the input simplicity. There's only a handful of button inputs you need to remember, and the rest is just mind games / style choices.

Re: Poll: Did the Wii U and 3DS Nintendo Direct Kickstart 2016?

HeroOfTime32

I may be the minority here...but I was actually very pleased with the Metroid Prime: Federation Force presentation.

Man that game got a bad rap from last reveal... It really doesn't look bad at all. I'd love a "mission-based" cooperative Metroid. Between having the original director + Next Level Games, I'm sure it'll be great.

But...I'm sure I speak for the minority

Re: Rumour Buster: Let's Clarify Some Issues With Those Recent Nintendo NX Predictions

HeroOfTime32

I can't think that ALL of this is believable.... But I do think the idea of using either the same, or an enhanced version of the Wii U wireless video transfer technology would be a given...but we'll see. Nintendo likes to compound on their ideas, and from what I remember, their Wii U signal sending technology was actually WAYYY ahead of many other tech items on the market at the time in regards to lag time, etc.

Re: Ori and the Blind Forest Director Criticises Secrecy and Lack of Access to NX Devkits

HeroOfTime32

Wow, and this guy is actually a CEO of a company??? Sounds like a punk teen on a tirade about how he/she didn't get their way...

It's true though that Nintendo needs to invest the time with the large publishers first. There is an ACTUAL install base for those types of games. Sure, you need indies too... but that's a little more niche.

If Nintendo wants to be successful, they need to have all loose ends tied up PRIOR to a big console reveal. That's what I feel like they're trying to do now. Get on board with EA, Activision, etc. let them see the product and commit to supporting the platform. That way when the big reveal happens, they actually have something to show for.

The indies can come afterwards... it's business.

Re: Retro Studios Finally Modernises and Relaunches Its Website

HeroOfTime32

@Zoda_Fett For real... jeez.

But on the topic of whether Retro has produced a high volume of titles or not, I'm less concerned about quantity and more concerned with quantity. Everything they touch turns to gold, and I do like how it's Retro who revives the old franchises that nobody else will.

My personal hopes for the future include: 1) Metroid 2) F-zero 3) Animal Crossing.

It's not that I didn't like their venture with DK, it's just that I'm ready to move on. Aside from the obvious choice of Metroid, I feel that they could actually breathe some of the fresh air that Animal Crossing has been longing for. I'd be all for it.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Tackles the Native Resolution and Framerate in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD

HeroOfTime32

@Yorumi You're missing the point here. In a perfect world, yeah I'm sure Nintendo would take their time and do this project the justice it deserves. Does their massive back catalog of games not imply this already??

But stop to think about the situation they are in. These development decisions need to be made VERY FAR in advance. Nintendo obviously thought the Wii U would be faring better than it is currently, and they probably hoped the 2016 release schedule looked a little more full. The reality is that Nintendo really needed something to fill the '16 release calendar. I'm sure TP was a project they wanted to remaster at some point, but found themselves in a situation dictated by time. In fact, I look at this as a POSITIVE from Nintendo, not a negative. Would you rather the Wii U get pretty much nothing in 2016?? I know I would feel pretty burned by that. The dev teams are stretched super thin right now holding two platforms up by themselves with hardly any 3rd party support. Let's not forget how many teams have been moved or partitioned to NX development.

At the end of the day, let's be happy with the fact we're getting TP released this March. I think the improvements are okay. I 100% agree with you that there could have been more improvements such as FPS and the like. But to say that this wasn't accomplished because they are LAZY??? Ha, it's quite the opposite. There is a lot on the plate right now for one company to be juggling. At the end of the day, they always think about their fans and always aim to please them. It doesn't happen all the time, but I will say that I like to think that Ninty thinks from the gamer's heart regarding business decisions.

Re: Reaction: The Nintendo 'NX', and Why We Think a Unified Platform is the Future

HeroOfTime32

@John_Enigma I'm inclined to agree with you here. Look at the wireless/streaming technology they implemented into the Wii U. It's actually quite impressive lag-wise. Nintendo loves finding emerging and developing technologies and finding ways to implement these technologies into their games. Case & point with analogue sticks, motion controls, touch screens, etc.

I'm thinking we will see some updated version of "Remote Play" like you're mentioning, coupled with the free-form screen patents we saw just recently (with the connected LG rumors prior to that).

The biggest part of the equation is having a HEALTHY gaming ECOSYSTEM for gamers tho. Whether that be true cross-buy, or having access to older purchases, or a unified account. I think that's actually one of the biggest things that needs to be done.

Lastly, on the topic of the Club Nintendo rewards program... Take the "achievements" model from PS & Xbox and implement it into actual, physical rewards or digital discounts rather than just trophies. THAT WOULD BE A GAME CHANGER.

Re: Reaction: The Nintendo 'NX', and Why We Think a Unified Platform is the Future

HeroOfTime32

Everybody's speculating about a unified platform between handheld and console... And while I feel that may be the road we're headed towards, let's not forget how Nintendo ALWAYS shocks or surprises us with something we never even thought of.

I'm hoping this is the case, that something completely new is introduced that isn't a "gimmick" in the truest sense of the word. A "gimmick" is fine, so long as gameplay and 3rd party support aren't compromised.

The news articles floating around a couple months ago from industry insiders were telling us that Nintendo is doing something completely new and innovative. Naturally, the Internet is going to speculated wildly, that's what Nintendo fans do LOL.

2016 is gonna be EXCITITNG
