Re: Nintendo Direct: Mario Kart World: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate It?

HalBailman

Still no idea why you drive between courses. It seems like a complete waste of time.

I would like to have seen an overview of each cup, and a brief look at some of the retro courses. Otherwise, a good Direct and it covered a lot. 8/10!

Edit:
I like Cow as the name. It's iconic and so Nintendo! Moo Moo is the name of courses, anyway.

Still there's whinging about the $80 price. MKW is $10 more than Zelda TOTK on Switch. Both are regarded as premium games. DK Bonanza, at $70, is $10 more than than regular Switch games. People act like there's been no increase costs in game development over the years, and the world is generally more expensive too. To be fussing over $10 extra is irrational and, now, boring. If the $10 is such a detriment, don't buy! In regards to the 3DS price drop, that was radically too expensive and the 3DS wasn't selling. Only a similar consumer response will see Nintendo reduce Switch 2 prices.

Re: ICYMI: Nintendo Reminds Us Game Vouchers Won't Work On Switch 2 Exclusives

HalBailman

@MangoMahn Vouchers can be purchased from the eshop and then exchanged for any of a bunch of specific Nintendo games. Two vouchers are purchased in one transaction and the cost is around 20% cheaper than buying the two games directly. Vouchers expire after 1 year.

Not really a surprise about the vouchers since Switch 2 games are more expensive. The real question is whether Nintendo will introduce specific Switch 2 vouchers in future.

We should stop using the term "backwards compatible", particularly because Nintendo never stated that and now we know the hardware itself is not directly compatible. Nintendo only said Switch games will be "playable", which is obviously a different standard. It's caused so much confusion, especially with many games not compatible and roughly 75% of the 15,000 games require more testing. While the vast majority will likely work, the rest will require patches or simply never work. Perhaps "Switch game playability" is the better expression.

Re: Video: Nintendo Today Gives Us Another Look At F-Zero GX For Switch Online

HalBailman

I'll pay, perhaps, $20 for it. Not submitting to the forced subscription model. Besides, I can play F-Zero GX on my Game Cube at any time.

Personally, GX had too many poor tracks to be a truly great F-Zero game. It's the only F-Zero I couldn't beat on Master difficulty, and that was due to the boredom and frustration of some courses. I'd rather Nintendo remake X and add the best tracks from GX, AX and the 16 bit era for an "ultimate" version.

Edit:
No way should Nintendo get Sega to make a new F-Zero. The problem with GX was Sega's gimmick ethos was all over it. Only Nintendo can bring the required refinement and nuance that F-Zero demands!

Re: Feature: "It's Huge For Us" - Devs Talk Switch 2 Reactions, Dev-Kit Disparity, Future Plans

HalBailman

I can't believe Sophie Smart already raised the spectre of a Switch 2 Pro. 🤣 Have we all learnt nothing over the last 8 years? Despite all the wild rumours and hallucinogenic predictions, no Switch Pro! A Switch 2 iteration with a better battery and eventually an OLED model, sure. A more powerful, premium priced option, no. What price anyway - $700? 🤣🙄

A very informative Q&A. I love that they are all optimistic and excited about the future, and like the new features.

Edit:
It seems I'm not the only one bothered by several of Sophie's comments. Jester676 raised some really good points!

Re: Opinion: It's Been 20 Years Since I Was This Excited For A Mario Kart

HalBailman

I'm looking forward to Mario Kart World because the MK series got stale and boring. The lack of challenge and depth in the Cup system was frustrating, while multiplayer demanded light kart configurations to excel. The game evolved to a point that it simply lacked variety and interest, with the only variation being new tracks. Even they got boring. With the booster courses, I won almost all the Cups on the first attempt at 150cc and never returned to them. Snooze! I definitely hope MKW offers a lot more variety, scope, novelty and, most of all, challenge.

Note:
With MK64 in Pal territories, it occasionally ran at ridiculous speeds, not just proper speed. If my memory still serves me, Bowser Castle was super fast with 3 players while DK Jungle was super fast with 4 players. Or vice versa. Or it was just with 3 players on both.

Edit:
Is NolandC trolling us? "Not even 20 solid titles" on the Switch? 🤣🙄

Re: Digital Foundry Digs Deep Into Mario Kart World's Tech And Specs

HalBailman

@Getagrip101 I'm mostly replying to say I love your user name. Brilliant!

Yeah, I don't understand the confusion and understating the Switch 2 ability. PS4 Pro was advertised as the 4K and HDR system. That was the entire rationale for rushing to an unprecedented mid cycle upgrade like they did. Switch 2 is 4K and HDR, so it's easily that as a minimum. Switch Pro (circa 2021 tech) and PS4 is laughable.

Re: Digital Foundry Digs Deep Into Mario Kart World's Tech And Specs

HalBailman

I agree about the open sections as potentially boring. Driving along straight sections for so long, whatever! Obviously, I hope Nintendo make that exciting, and from those that played MKW at press events gave no indication of any problems there.

Side by side with the Switch, it is remarkable the improvement in graphics on the Switch 2. Still we have people (as rjejr commented) thinking of it as a Switch Pro. Ignoring the obvious fact that the Pro concept is a mid cycle beefed up model and sold at a premium price alongside the base model, the Switch has gone from around PS3 level to around PS4 Pro level for Switch 2. It's 1.5 generations ahead and an obvious successor. A Switch Pro would, at best, be a solid 1080p/60 device and priced at least $400 at the time. Certainly not 4K and HDR that PS4 Pro and now Switch 2 features. The Switch Pro is dead. It was never alive!

Re: Mario Kart World "Paid DLC" Would Be A Big No-No, According To Ex-Nintendo Duo

HalBailman

@tektite_captain Regarding a lower price for download games over physical, no announcement that I've seen and it's very unlikely anyway. To do that would undercut major retailers, who actively promote and market the product. In Australia, these retailers actually get deals to sell cheaper than RRP (eshop price), typically $10 cheaper. Afraid to say, eshop purchases partially subsidise the physical market, and any price increase would be across the board, even if an ehop digital purchase is not subject to a tariff. Perhaps everything up $5. Personally, I doubt game prices would increase. There's far more profit margin in them compared to hardware, and the tariff game is uncertain. Some car companies already announced they will not increase car prices. Long term, it could change.

Re: Mario Kart World "Paid DLC" Would Be A Big No-No, According To Ex-Nintendo Duo

HalBailman

Nintendo's explanation about the Mario Kart World price was a bit fuzzy and open to irrational speculation of potentially even higher priced games if they offer 100+ hours of content. Nintendo should simply have said that they introduced a premium priced level of games on Switch for $10 more at $70, specifically Zelda TOTK, and Mario Kart World is similarly a premium game on Switch 2 and costs just $10 more at $80. Games like DK Bonanza are $70, which is $10 more than the equivalent price point on Switch.

As for K&K, I would ignore them. They are the worst traffickers of rumours and innuendo, and are so bad that Nintendo didn't invite them to the Switch 2 media event. Their hysteria over potential paid DLC for MKW is nonsense. It was fine for MK8 Deluxe, so why not MKW? Sure, not annonce in the upcoming Direct, as irrational a proposal that it is anyway. In a few years, I'd happily pay $40 to add an entire new world or something. Their opinions are so disposable that I wouldn't even waste water to flush them down the toilet.

Edit:
Reading the comments, I never knew so many people dislike, if not loathe, K&K! I suspect, due to their dubious and sensationalist content, Nintendo regard them as traitors.

Re: Switch 2 GameChat Choppy Frame Rate Explained By Nintendo

HalBailman

Anyone complaining about the poor framerate doesn't understand computing power, compromises and trade-offs. There's always a finite limit, and if processing is increased in one area, it's lost elsewhere. Of course, very few people were complaining, so credit to Nintendo for getting the information out anyway.

Re: Opinion: Oh No, I'm Not A Fan Of Switch 2's Mouse Mode At All

HalBailman

Mouse control is largely an unnecessary gimmick, like HD rumble. When a conventional controller works wonderfully well with Metroid Prime, why ever use a mouse? Where would you rest it while sitting on a couch? Perhaps your lap or the side arm. Either way, whatever! For something like Mario Maker it will likely be more useful.

Re: 'Switch 2 Editions' Are Supposedly A Switch Game Card And Download Code For The Upgrade Pack

HalBailman

Not so sure about the "false advertising" in the X post. This method sounds like the upgrade pack downloads the entire Switch 2 game, rendering the Switch game card as a key to play the game on Switch 2. Of course, put the card into a Switch, or in a Switch 2 without the upgrade pack, and it plays normally. I can't imagine the eshop version would be the Switch game with the upgrade built in. Who knows!

What we've learnt is that Nintendo never ceases to amaze us with their perplexity, wackiness and weirdness. Also, Metroid Prime 4 is, ostensibly, a Switch game as promised. Otherwise, just release a dedicated version on both systems!

Edit:
I see comments that this story is largely false, and the upgrade is on the card itself. That sort of raises extra questions if all Switch games are easy to upgrade, and exactly how the whole process works. Is it simply new textures in the upgrade pack and the Switch 2 knows to use those and run the game at a higher resolution and frame rate? Interesting!

Re: Feature: "We Really Want To Future-Proof" - The Nintendo Switch 2 Interview

HalBailman

"Have you gotten to spend much time with it..."
I remember a time when "gotten" was uniquely an American word and we'd mock them for using it! Now we get this horrible sentence structure on a British site! 🤭
How about: "Have you spent much time with it..."

PS: Wonderful interview! Nate is right about the Game Cube controllers. Beautiful things, and I never had issues with the joysticks. If the Switch 2 joycons can offer feel and durability to that level, I'll be super happy!

Re: Nintendo Comments On Mario Kart World's Controversial Price

HalBailman

@Darknyht Spot on! SNES games were ridiculously expensive. I remember the shock value vividly.

Part of the problem with Switch 2 is that game prices remained relatively stagnant for years, so we got used to cheap games. I would often marvel at the golden era of affordable gaming that were in. Second, Mario Kart World was assumed as the default price increase from Switch games, when now we know it's in that premium bracket like Zelda TOTK on Switch, so $10 more relatively.

Still unknown is how many Switch 2 games will Nintendo put in that premium bracket. That's where they could get sneaky!

Re: Nintendo Comments On Mario Kart World's Controversial Price

HalBailman

There goes the grand lie Switch 2 games are $20 more expensive. No. Mario Kart World is regarded as a premium level game, just like Zelda TOTK on Switch, so both are $10 more than standard games. Standard were $60 vs $70 now. Premium were $70 vs $80 now. Of course, Zelda TOTK was the only premium priced Nintendo game on the Switch, and it remains to be seen how many follow similarly on Switch 2!

Re: Nintendo Of America President Says Tariffs "Not Factored" Into Switch 2 Price

HalBailman

The Switch 2 is expensive everywhere. Japan got a 67% price increase over the original Switch. USA was 50%. A video from this site mentioned the equivalent of $567 USD in Denmark for the console alone. I actually believe there was a little buffer in the American price for any potential, small tariff (at least 10% for everyone was telegraphed way in advance), along with knowing $450 would be tolerated in the current landscape.

As to the future, Nintendo simply don't want to be changing the price every few months based on the tariff situation. Their starting price is their permanent price. The delay for consumers to order is simply to get certainty. Even if they can't wiggle out of a new tariff, they might just absorb it and stick at $450, knowing that the tariff might be fairly short term, lower production costs over time will negate the effect, and they are flush with profits from the Switch era to offset any reduced Switch 2 profitability.

Re: Nintendo Is (Kinda) Returning To Region-Locking With A Cheaper Japanese Switch 2

HalBailman

Happy to buy a cheaper English-only option in my own country if available. 🤣

Seriously, interesting pricing structure, and the 50k yen price really shows external markets are getting a serious markup (or they are subsidising the Japanese market a little). If I could speak Japanese, I would seriously consider importing the domestic product.

PS: Nintendo already said tariffs would have a minimal effect. Japanese electronics market isn't discussed, and even if they cop 10%, that's on the importer's cost, so perhaps $20, which would get absorbed along the selling chain.

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?

HalBailman

8/10. Despite so many launch games, not a whole lot interest me, and no Metroid Prime 4 release date, damn it! Mario Kart World and Fast Fusion are the two instant purchases.

PS: I must admit, I'm impressed with the chat feature! Not just actually chatting, to also see friends' screens, and even friends themselves, is something I never envisaged.

Edit:
The handful of clowns calling it a Switch Pro are so delusional. The Switch 2 is double the specifications of the Switch. A Pro comes mid cycle anyway and sells besides the base model. Switch 2 is a successor, like PS5 to PS4. Only because the media were so corrupt with their ludicrous rumours and propaganda that we even talk about a Switch Pro. It's dead. It was never alive. Move on! For the record, there WON'T be a Switch 2 Pro!!!

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Officially Launches On 5th June 2025

HalBailman

June was the common estimate considering the timing of the Direct and schedule of the demonstration events. Nintendo telegraphed it. Very happy it's not further away. Still not happy about no release date for Metroid Prime 4. Grrr!

Edit:
I'm shocked at the $450 price. I really thought Nintendo would not go over $400. Obviously they know it will sell and $50 more is unlikely to put many off.

For Australia, the conversion is $715 AUD so I'm guessing $730 and $800, respectively. Could be $20 more if Nintendo want to further bleed us!

Re: Has The Xbox Switch 2 Rival Just Revealed Its True Form?

HalBailman

I firmly believe handhelds with a Microsoft OS will be the future of this sector. MS are obviously in the experimental phase, hence, getting a third party design out first. Then MS can learn and refine their OS for their own system.

Note: This OS would be a version of the MS's Windows OS from Xbox, not Windows 11. An optimised Windows is the ideal direction for these devices rather than everything moving to Steam OS, which still has all sorts of issues, especially with optimisation and compatibility.

Re: Talking Point: Which Switch Game Needs A 'Nintendo Switch 2 Edition' The Most?

HalBailman

I don't know even know what an Edition means. It sounds like a Switch game with more content. So, Zelda BOTW could arrive with all the bonus content. Same with Smash Bros. Or, even Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

How about the new Mario Kart itself! Yes, the new MK could be on Switch and Switch 2, especially if Nintendo want to rake in dollars. Why ignore your existing 150 million customers? Not everyone will rush to Switch 2 in the first week.

As NL suggests, it could be just a straight copy of a Switch game with better visuals.

I'll ignore the last option as of least interest and importance, while any new Switch 2 game I would play there, not on the Switch.

To the first scenario, Smash Bros, along with even a few more characters, could be the one, especially as I never bought any of the extra characters on Switch. MK8 Deluxe might interest the few people that never bought a Switch or its MK8, or the extra courses.

Edit:
I voted MK8 Deluxe as the "need" (mostly because I couldn't think of much else) and Smash Ultimate as the "want". Others suggesting Mario Maker 2 as a "need" is worthwhile, especially with the likely mouse controls and so the game stays alive for many more years. Much better than a MM3.

Also, this belief there could be so many Switch 2 editions is overblown. With Switch games playable on Switch 2, I see little need to make better looking versions. I firmly believe these Editions will be very limited in number and centred around extra content.

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Direct For March 2025?

HalBailman

The fact that Metroid Prime 4 still got the "coming 2025" release period sapped all excitement following the game presentation. Given that it was always the key game of this Direct, it was bad of Nintendo not to be more specific, so I rate the entire Direct as BAD. Something like "autumn 2025" would suffice, not this indefinite and interminable "coming 2025" nonsense. We're in 2025 now. It's simply unacceptable.

Also, nothing else shown I would call exciting, and other than perhaps the Marvel fighting game, nothing was of personal interest. This simply should have been the big MP4 showcase with a release date. It failed that key task. It couldn't even offer a skerrick of hope. So disappointing.

Re: Nintendo Announces 'Virtual Game Cards' For Switch, Unlocking Digital Lending

HalBailman

@Konsori You just explained why in your answer! Nintendo don't want you loading the same game on multiple systems. They want you thinking that a downloaded game works just like a physical one! In simplifying the "share" concept, yes, they've gone backwards in that sense. For most people, who might have a second Switch or one for the kids, it's easier in practice and to understand sharing a virtual card than fool around with primary and secondary Switches, etc.

Re: Nintendo Announces 'Virtual Game Cards' For Switch, Unlocking Digital Lending

HalBailman

Definitely a much better system for sharing download games. By calling them virtual game cards, that also makes it easier for people to understand the concept. When you share a physical card, obviously you can't play it yourself. Same with a virtual one.

It also stops the circumvention with the current share system where the primary Switch, after sharing with a secondary Switch, can disable the Internet and then play the game too. A win win for Nintendo!

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Gets A New Trailer, But No Release Date

HalBailman

A big punch in the face to still say "coming 2025" after all these months. I hope NL is right about a simultaneous release on the Switch 2 and a release date confirmed then, and I hope it's not too far away. I still don't understand why not even a generic period like autumn 2025 or even "soon". Anyway, the game looks good and I was getting Star Wars vibes with Samus "the chosen one" and using Force abilities.

PS: The rest of the Direct offered nothing of major interest to me. Really disappointing. I hope the Switch 2 Direct next week offers some clarity about MP4 and the general life of the Switch. Games are announced for late 2025 and even 2026, so are there still many more months of it alone?

Edit:
Good to see others disappointed about no release date, and even doubt a simultaneous Switch 2 release. I still doubt that much myself.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct Predictions - What Do You Want To See?

HalBailman

Metroid Prime 4. That's all! I want detailed information and an imminent release date, and I will be happy. Nintendo always said it was a Switch game and it would get a 2025 release. The time is now!

If we don't see MP4, it's safe to assume it will be held for a simultaneous release on Switch 2, potentially showcasing the graphical upgrades that the Switch 2 can accomplish.

I might accept Metroid Prime 2 and 3 as a compromise if we don't get a release date for MP4 announced. 😛

My other wish is something from the F-Zero or Star Fox family. A forgotten rumour is about F-Zero GX Recharged, and way back Star Fox Racing! While I'd prefer F-Zero X remade or a conventional Star Fox game, I'd settle for these.

Re: Nintendo Direct Confirmed For Tomorrow, 27th March 2025

HalBailman

Now we know that if a date is discovered a few days in advance, something will happen. The rest is a guess, and that's where the rumour pushers are often wrong. So, we get a Switch Direct, not an indie one or something else. Of course, the Switch 2 reveal in January proved to be an announcement video of the reveal, while Alarmo was the "hardware" that the fake leakers said would be a Switch 2 reveal.

Logically a Switch Direct made most sense. While many people thought it a week before the Switch 2 made little sense, including it within the Switch 2 Direct or even after it made even less sense. There's still Switch games to reveal (notably Metroid Prime 4) and many of us thought that would occur in the usual mid February. So, it comes 5 weeks later. It's really that simple.

Edit:
Comment from Tuesday...
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2025/03/rumour-a-switch-1-direct-presentation-may-take-place-this-week#comment8548425

"There's still life in the Switch, and Metroid Prime 4 is still supposedly a Switch game, so why not a Direct this week? Unless MP4 has been made a Switch 2 game, I thought it odd that it would be revealed in the Switch 2 Direct, or even after it. Of course, as I'm probably the biggest condemner of rumours, speculation and all the phony "leaks", I would ordinarily dismiss this rumour as the usual complete nonsense. The one caveat is the date is so close, and that's typically when there's some semblance of accuracy to a rumour. Not so much the purpose; more so that something will happen."

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Switch 2 To Launch In June With 3-Phase Software Plan

HalBailman

The good news about this rumour is we already know it, or other rumours suggesting May, are already wrong. They can't be both right? 🥳

I don't place month stock in anyone suggesting June because that's the obvious month given the reveal is 2 April. Late June would be almost 3 months past that. I also see these rumours as the final death throws of the rumour mill trying to get attention prior to the official information release next week. Because that date is so close, no one really cares and the rumours are essentially meaningless. Tell us the reveal date, release date and even a launch title 6 months in advance, and that truly gets our attention.

Re: Rumour: A Switch 1 Direct Presentation May Take Place This Week

HalBailman

There's still life in the Switch, and Metroid Prime 4 is still supposedly a Switch game, so why not a Direct this week? Unless MP4 has been made a Switch 2 game, I thought it odd that it would be revealed in the Switch 2 Direct, or even after it. Of course, as I'm probably the biggest condemner of rumours, speculation and all the phony "leaks", I would ordinarily dismiss this rumour as the usual complete nonsense. The one caveat is the date is so close, and that's typically when there's some semblance of accuracy to a rumour. Not so much the purpose; more so that something will happen. That was the case with the Switch 2 announcement video in January when a date was discovered a few days in advance. While the "leakers" speculated wrong of an actual full reveal (it's on 2 April), they found the date and were confident something was happening. My memory seems to recall some Directs guessed a few days in advance.

Here's something to blow your minds: Perhaps Nintendo is moving the Switch 2 Direct to this week! They could fear leaks to such a degree that a sudden Direct would prevent any of that.

Re: Rumour: Latest Switch 2 Theory Suggests Release Date Might Be Right Around The Corner

HalBailman

For something supposedly based on logic, the rationale for 15 May sounds completely illogical.

I'll print this for use as wallpaper like so many failed rumours already. I've already moved house twice and am now looking to acquire the Taj Mahal for more wall space.

PS: Whenever we report these "rumours", can we get the list of all the previous failed ones by the person? That would add context because all I see these days is the same people throwing out a new rumour in hope that one eventually sticks.

Re: Star Wars: Hunters Servers To Close Later This Year

HalBailman

I downloaded the game and still never played it! I will endeavour to give it run before it closes.

Edit:
@Dee123 Whether no refunds is illegal in Europe depends on the licence agreement you approved without reading! I play World of Tanks Blitz and a year ago they updated their agreement to effectively say you own nothing! Buying something only gives usage rights, not ownership. It's likely to protect them if the game is suddenly closed. They would not remove a specific tank bought, for example, even if legally they could.

Re: Switch 2 Predicted To Cost "$400 Or More"

HalBailman

I can't see the Switch 2 over $400 given Nintendo's own words to keep it "affordable". Perhaps $420 as a worse case scenario, and I can still see it under $400, like $370. Remember, the current LCD Switch (Switch 2 rumoured to be LCD) sells at $300 so $70 to $100 is a significant increase, especially considering the Switch is 8 years old and must be significantly cheaper to produce these days. Had those cost savings been passed on, the original Switch is really a $250 product at retail level (or less), so a $400 Switch 2 is a massive $150 increase. Also remember, Nintendo don't drop their prices (except for exceptional situations like the 3DS not selling), so the launch price is the permanent price. If Nintendo want mass penetration, it must be affordable. Nothing would breed excitement than a sub $400 figure.

Tariffs are a non issue as Japanese electronics are not in the discussion. Even if 10% was added for some reason, that's on the importer's cost, so the level behind the wholesaler and the retailer and their mark up, meaning perhaps $20 to the consumer. Inflation hasn't touched electronic goods in years, and the small spike a few years ago was due to supply chain problems. Even here, they are speculating $400 as an option so everything looks promising. Of course, we'll know for sure in 3 weeks anyway.

Re: Switch 2 Will Support NFC, According To New FCC Filings

HalBailman

A basic feature and cheap to retain, so why not, especially when Switch games will be "playable" on Switch 2? I'm more interested to know if the expensive and mostly useless HD rumble will be dropped. That can see the price of the product and spare joycons be cheaper. I loathed that extra joycons were so expensive because I was paying for features I never used.

PS: Before another argument starts at this site, I'm talking specifically HD rumble. Basic rumble and gyro controls, no issues there.

PPS: Yes, I know I could buy third party joycons.

Re: Rumour: Switch 2 3D Dock Mock-Up Surfaces Online

HalBailman

I agree with Chardir just above. We saw the dock in the announcement video, among other sources. Is a model, potentially one created from memory and existing sources, really a "leak? It doesn't really tell us anything we don't know or presume. As NL says at the end of the article, it's a mock up. Let's just hang for the full reveal on 2 April!

Edit: Anyone curious about Johnny Mind's replies to me above, he rudely and unfairly insinuated I said no images of anything ever got leaked when I was clearly referring to the dock only, then he got petty and argued I wasn't fair to him. Not sure why all my comments got deleted and some of his remained. Anyway! We move on.

Re: Random: Redditor Predicted Switch 2's Mouse Functionality Six Years Ago

HalBailman

@Atariboy Does Switch really support a mouse now? I know you can plug one in, using a dongle, and things like Fortnite work. I would be happy to know more.

With Switch 2, this will be native support. No fiddling around!

I agree, if you were keen on using a mouse, especially with your Switch 2 at a desk, then you'd plug in an actual one. The joycon one would be for casual situations or travelling, and I think it's a case of the Switch 2 being fully compatible, out of the box, with any future games that accept a mouse. Surprisingly, many people are often content with default accessories.
