Re: Splatoon 2 Hackers Are Forcing Unreleased Content Onto Other Players

HADAA

@TheOpponent I disagree. One needs concrete proof to accuse people of hacking, and this is unshakable proof versus exiting the first second (people would say they edited the video). Besides, exiting will be penalized as ragequitting thus affecting their score (even though it's an unfair hack).
They did the right thing by recording the full evidence and raising public awareness.

Re: Review: Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion (Switch eShop)

HADAA

For those who already cleared the game, make sure to beat all 80(?) subway missions to unlock the hidden ULTIMATE fight. I'm not there yet, but players with all-Rank X have told me they couldn't beat it the first time!

The in-game hero mode preps you for online and I feel that OE already assumes you're experienced in Rank. As both were built around the online premise, for it to be a standalone 1P I think they need to fill in the gap somehow. More tutorial stages (that let you fill up and use Special gauge)? AI co-op missions? Something. As it stands it's a very meaty and affordable DLC but incomplete as a 1P product.

Re: Review: Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion (Switch eShop)

HADAA

@Saego My first impression as well, and I would've given it a 6/10 if that's all in OE. But fret not. Great Nintendo IPs are known to break first impressions with their wicked twists and turns.
Spoilers: The subway mini-game levels are [REDACTED]. Once you [REDACTED] (à la Portal 1) you'll agree that OE truly earns the 9/10.
@Octane To you as well, what you seek is in [REDACTED] of the game.

Re: Splatoon 2's July Update Brings A Fresh Stage And Brand New Weapons

HADAA

@Dom
In your article, it's not 'Kugel Shriver' but 'Kugelschreiber', German word for ballpoint pen. That thing looks exactly like a multi-color retractable biro.
And instead of 'Hotel New Otolo' I'd expect it to be romanized as "Otoro", but since the name's going to change anyway I'll let it slide.

Re: Brand New Character And Plot Point Revealed For Splatoon 2's Octo Expansion

HADAA

@RyanCraddock "消毒" does not mean "infected", but actually "disinfected" or "sanitized" (or sanitised over there?).
There are already wiki entries for "Sanitized Octarian" and it's the same concept. Please revise your article.

@GloverMist Since they're in fact "disinfected", I'm guessing this time around some mad Inkling scientist managed to cleanse or "anesthetize" Octarians into doing their bidding?

Re: Video: Splatoon 2's Octo Expansion Will Include Single-Player Rainmaker Levels

HADAA

@rjejr Sponges are already a staple in Splatoon 2 multiplayer, and all the other gimmicks (invisible surfaces, cannons, grapplinks etc) are randomly featured in a special stage during Splatfests. And you'll never know how fun the co-op (Salmon Run) is if you don't buy it!

@NapalmPsalm I think this DLC is exactly made to teach players how to properly play the other modes. I personally hope there'll be Salmon Run tutorial for special (night) waves. I don't want to see any more of them headless inklings leading Grillers all over the place.

Re: Video: Splatoon 2's Octo Expansion Will Include Single-Player Rainmaker Levels

HADAA

@EasyDaRon I see this expansion as this game's attempt to coach rookies in how to play the other modes efficiently. As hero-mode is just a tutorial, so is this being an advanced tutorial. I still see teammates not knowing how to use their specials so this looks like a wonderful teaching material. Hopefully there's also a single player salmon run-esque level with Grillers and Motherships etc so that we don't run into clueless squids not knowing how/when to use their Sting Ray.

Re: New Splatoon Secret Project Is Set To "Shock The World" Just Days Before E3

HADAA

It's probably just a new league mode as depicted in the latest Corocoro magazine leak. A new emblem that looks like a squid arrow with a single eye pointing northwest has been revealed. The "shock the world" phrase was indeed on the cover of Corocoro itself, but should not be taken literally. It's just a hyped up claim/catchphrase the manga magazine often uses.

Re: Video: Check Out One Of The Missions In Splatoon 2’s Upcoming Octo Expansion

HADAA

@thiz The game-changer is in the league battle mode where there are objectives to meet and blind invasion won't work. Like sending a trojan tower to your foe's base — just killing people and defending your side won't win you the game, instead you must clear a path and advance the tower to secure a victory. Also there's a co-op mode called Salmon Run that hooked me in: Kill enough bosses and deposit eggs to reach quota while surviving the time limit with your team. Spraying ink around without killing enough; kill many bosses but not meeting the egg quota; or die without being revived (like the way you described the game as "spray, invade, die") won't work.
It's a fun competitive strategy game through and through and that's the appeal, that's the hype.

Re: Video: Get Ready To Crack The Case With Detective Pikachu In The Latest Trailer

HADAA

@quinnbad It'd be nice, but Danny already said he wasn't interested (forgot the source but I saw it in one of the comments here) so I'd rather someone enthusiastic voice him.

@MoonKnight7 It'll be touched upon but not right of the bat. In fact all talking Pokemon are explained or implied. Meowth in the anime taught himself human. Most of the movie hero mons speak in telepathy (including Ash's Pikachu in Movie 20). And the Mystery Dungeon games where you (a human) got turned into a Pokemon thus understanding their language.

Re: Splatoon 2's Next New Weapon is The Squeezer

HADAA

@Bengals76 You have to be Level 10 or up to unlock the Ranked Mode which contains 4 types of games, namely Tower Control, Rainmaker, Splat Zones, and Clam Blitz (they're on rotation). So keep playing the online matches if your level's not there yet. And have you tried Salmon Run? Oddly enough I don't think I'd ever get burnt out by it. The squidbag (or squidbang) party after a successful final wave is so satisfying!

Re: Nintendo Badge Arcade Receives Its Last Set of Badges in Japan Later This Month

HADAA

@MitchVogel
Please rewrite this misleading sentence "but it would seem that Nintendo is finally beginning the process of retiring the game." It's not.

If you understand Japanese, Bunny clearly says the memory of the 3DS console is the limiting factor, and (in red text) NOT about retiring the game. Even if they wanted to add more, they could not, as it would ruin people's save data for those who aim to complete every set.

Re: Nintendo Badge Arcade Receives Its Last Set of Badges in Japan Later This Month

HADAA

(Edited. Sorry Serebii)

The way @MitchVogel wrote this article is misleading. Like @Paddle1 said, the reason is not because they are retiring the game, but simply because of 3DS save data limitations. They cannot cram in any more new badges or Arcade Bunny's speech patterns. After May 26, content will be repeated.

There are currently NO plans to shut it down.

Re: The Second Global Mission for Pokémon Sun and Moon Has Been Revealed

HADAA

Now we're over 50,000. IF (and a big if) we can gain 10,000 for every 6 hours, and as there are 290 hours left, we would have 290/6*10000+50000=533333... oh no, I'm not optimistic either!

To everyone, don't just use any random QR code or generator. Use the one Mega_Yarn_Poochy provided as that's the only way to halve the wait time, giving you two scan chances instead of one in a day.

Tap the QR SCANNER in the menu by the way, in case anyone was wondering

Re: Swapdoodle Available Now For Free In North America And Europe

HADAA

@Nintenbomba128 It's the nude pictures that got Nintendo Japan in trouble, and genital doodles were not as severe, albeit still wrong. They must have weighed the pros and cons and felt more comfortable with the free-to-start model and the timing of 3DS (is it on its end-of-life? Just my speculation). At any rate I'm glad Nikki's back.

Re: Video: Go Back to Court With This Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice Prologue

HADAA

@Piersen The vision of the deceased (seances) is always true and is established in the demo. Rayfa's "prophecy" or rather her own interpretation is not. The seances may be ambiguous, so it's up to Phoenix to provide an alternative interpretation of what the vision actually meant. Khura'in's court fortunately still cares about logic and facts, and will listen if Rayfa's prophecy is proven to be not making sense.

Re: The My Nintendo Rewards 'Missions' Show What's Needed to Earn Freebies and Discounts

HADAA

@GloverMist You just answered your own question. Frankly I think everyone should switch to the American format. So jarring to see 911 written as 11/9, and it aligns with the ISO format of YYYYMMDD.

And yeah, while facebook is a pain in the ass as trolls can report your normal posts for nudity and the mods will start asking for a photo of your ID (!) which means no fake/alts, for Twitter anyone could just make a fake/alt.

Re: Famitsu Reveals New Rival for Ace Attorney 6

HADAA

@TimLatshaw How do you "leave that without any mention" though, especially in a pronoun sensitive language as English or Spanish? In Japanese, "Love (aishiteru)" is a complete sentence, but in English, it's gotta be "I love you".

Leaving he/she out won't work. "International prosecutor in Kurain Kingdom with a devout belief in (whose?) religion." Another alternative is to use the singular "they", but grammar nazis still don't like it. You just can't get around with these type of things in a natural way.

Re: Famitsu Reveals New Rival for Ace Attorney 6

HADAA

@CB85 It's really hard for them to localize Great Ace Attorney just because they can't pretend it's Japanlifornia anymore. If they were to change Ryunosuke's last name from Naruhodo to Wright, they'd just create a historical error since Japan didn't allow foreign immigrants that time (as in how the hell would the "Wright" family line, a foreign sounding surname, be there). Payne wouldn't work either. Not to mention there's an English/Japanese/Russian plot trick in there. All and all I think it's more excusable for them to NOT localize Great Ace Attorney this time.

Re: Review: SmileBASIC (3DS eShop)

HADAA

Note that SmileBASIC isn't just retro BASIC circa 1970. It's modernized and some C++ components are in there.
@mystman12 I agree with everything you said. Imaginary Like button clicked.
@Yosher People might tell you that BASIC isn't really useful or used, and they may be right, but you can still develop awesome games like this with this app. https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAADVHksGOfT8w
@TerrapinJess For just 10 bucks you can create and download unlimited games from the others! Best deal on 3DS.
