Without Twitter's ranking mechanism they have to manually moderate everything, a resource they don't have. Blame Elon Musk on this for trying to charge Nintendo (and other companies) US$42,000 per MONTH for API use, when it was free during then-Twitter.
@Yosher I average 50 games during Big Runs with ~130 each shift. That's already shy of 7000 for me (my teams) alone so we just need 100 thousand more teams to do the same. S3 sold 12 mil copies so just 1% of that population, definitely achievable.

But I fear for some teams that everyone might go ham on the launchers and no one actually deposits the eggs š (Instead of launchers Mr. Grizz should've given us additional BASKETS!)
I have a bad feeling that it's gonna be ILCA in disguise (whether to mitigate the perceived failure of BDSP sales or something else is beyond me), and Pokemon Works is gonna announce a BW remake coming end of this year BUT with the exact chibi style and bug-ridden presentation because it's ILCA by another name.
@rjejr I beat it within 5 hours on my 4th run (while earning necessary currency for the 3 failed runs), and I'm not that good even. I unlocked the "Continue" skill and after that it just plays like your regular hero mode where you're not worried about lives anymore. With good conscience I recommend you buy it as you'll be missing some good lore and fun too. And with the ability to unlock skills it becomes not grindy at all. I'm relieved the developers thought it through.
@Cakefish After beating a floor, you have the option to take a break so you can exit and play online until you're ready to return to the next floor. I recommend that you buy too.

This patch actually does work if one didn't start the game until after the update (my friend got 140 first day of Big Run, quit, and didn't touch his Switch until today; he got Gold), but for reasons unknown to us, some people who got the wrong reward did have the patch work correctly and get to keep both, while to some the patch did nothing.

The Screen needs much more time to fix (it does "work" as intended so there's no "bug" to fix, but it's just getting proven to be dangerous), so it's most likely not until mid-season will we see any changes with it. They took two full seasons to implement the second color lock option after all.

@Dragonite89 Where were you when Sword & Shield first released? We've already gone through this ad nauseam. While the Switch may be powerful/capable enough to handle it, Game Freak is not. (just look at all the performance glitches and bugs). And unlike the 3DS versions where we only had up to 802 Pokemon, we're now talking about 900-1000+ fully upscaled 3D models. GF simply doesn't have the technical prowess and time to include all. They already made the decision 4 years ago not to include all so they can focus on rebalancing the battle environment that's suitable for a given generation.
There's still this thing where you're free to fill the Pokedex... it's called Pokemon HOME.

Keep in mind that they're drip-feeding and the lineup for Odessey rotates each week. I'm sure WB will show up eventually, so this is not an oversight but a deliberate design to make people come back and check often.
@SnackPop Assuming you mean the rotation wait time, it's already been shortened to 6 hours (each rotation is now 36 hrs during weekdays and 42 hrs during the weekends) and I imagine that will continue, or there will be fewer players available for the other modes. It was 30 hours of wait time between rotations at S2's launch which was ridiculous, but 6 is really nothing now.
@Heavyarms55 There are things I can't imagine as well like deaf musicians or total limb amputees. And that's fine. Acknowledging and respecting the fact that people with various disabilities have found ways to enjoy things they like, is all that matters.
@Heavyarms55 The legal definition of "blind" is having 20/200 or less vision even with the best corrective lenses, so it doesn't have to be 100% blind, but 90%-100%. You can't deny that's still a major disability compared to normal vision.
Also, true 100% blind video gamers do exist. Mostly acquired blindness. Imagine YOU went blind yesterday due to illness/accident. You probably still memorized where things are in a game you already were playing, and your brain will start to be hypersensitive to the in-game audio cues and haptic feedback, that sort of thing. You probably can type on a keyboard with your eyes closed, right?
While they do need outside help to learn a completely new game, it is totally possible.
@Zarudepie There's a nice solution to that: Options -> Skip Movies. Granted it will skip ALL cutscenes, but you can always rewatch it on youtube playthroughs.
@TheFox The thing is Doyle's copyright in Japan expired 1991 and the Doyle Estate didn't contest it, so there's no problem whatsoever in using Sherlock Holmes in Japan. The problem is in America and UK, Doyle's copyright to the last ten stories is still in effect, so the name has to be changed. We should be thankful this game gets localized, or it would have remained Japan only.

Because an explanation for it has been posted over and over which you somehow ignored or overlooked. Like @Kanbolara said, the Doyle Estate maintains that any portrayal of Holmes with emotional development or respecting women falls under the realm of the last ten stories. So if Holmes is portraited as an aloof and unemotional stoic detective who's just there to solve mysteries, no problem. But any character development (like in this game with Iris) is at risk of getting sued.
I do believe Janet Hsu probably figured out the legal issues and decided he'd be Sholmes early on, so all these years were just her working out the translation kinks and making sure her adaptation works.

@CactusMan No, this is true. Although I couldn't verify if EVERY raid is being replaced by Magikarp (my first was a Comfey), one did show up in my second raid. You get a warning of "You can't catch this Pokemon. Is that OK?", and when you defeat it it just disappears.

I don't think this is true. I looked hard at her mini map and her "4th level" has the same shade of green as a regular 3rd level. And at the last second of the video she was in the middle of placing a Small Mushroom Platform which should be impossible on the 4th level. (It was possible way early before but the glitch should've been patched by now)

Animals won't move until you specifically told them to when they ask you, UNLIKE in NL where they can still move away WITHOUT talking to you (if you ignore them long enough, they won't ping and'll just disappear = exactly your nightmare). By "town layout changes" you probably mean random villagers moving in and building houses in your flower garden in NL. Again, you have total control of that in NH. NH is a huge improvement in that aspect.

By that time the European registrations already ended. Now I'm just crossing my fingers that someone out there has an extra code, or trade me one (something affordable).
@Heavyarms55 I assumed so too based on past experience, but IIRC this is the first Trainer's club code distribution for Switch so perhaps they changed it to only give out a certain number of codes and screw the others.
@Heavyarms55 A lot of us didn't get one (see my post #13), and my theory is Europe is gauging NA's response to see what the minimum number of codes they can get away with. Like if 100,000 (made-up number) codes weren't enough, maybe a million this time etc.
@Zach777 : @UmbreonsPapa probably sent the complaint to support.pokemon.com before Dec 12. After that date, the agents just throw you a canned response of "We apologize but we have no replacement codes for this promotion as of 12/22/2020" followed by unhelpful suggestions of how to re-subscribe, then close your case. I suspect there's only a limited number of codes and they simply sent to the top 100,000 (random number) on their mail list then automatically ignored the rest. I subscribed years ago, never missed any newsletter including previous codes, but just Zarude.
Any kind soul that has an extra European code you cannot redeem? I hate to beg but please throw me a bone too (hadaasharpedo at gmail dot com)

@Heavyarms55 There are things I can't imagine as well like deaf musicians or total limb amputees. And that's fine. Acknowledging and respecting the fact that people with various disabilities have found ways to enjoy things they like, is all that matters.

@Heavyarms55 The legal definition of "blind" is having 20/200 or less vision even with the best corrective lenses, so it doesn't have to be 100% blind, but 90%-100%. You can't deny that's still a major disability compared to normal vision.
Also, true 100% blind video gamers do exist. Mostly acquired blindness. Imagine YOU went blind yesterday due to illness/accident. You probably still memorized where things are in a game you already were playing, and your brain will start to be hypersensitive to the in-game audio cues and haptic feedback, that sort of thing. You probably can type on a keyboard with your eyes closed, right?
While they do need outside help to learn a completely new game, it is totally possible.

@Zarudepie There's a nice solution to that: Options -> Skip Movies. Granted it will skip ALL cutscenes, but you can always rewatch it on youtube playthroughs.

@TheFox The thing is Doyle's copyright in Japan expired 1991 and the Doyle Estate didn't contest it, so there's no problem whatsoever in using Sherlock Holmes in Japan. The problem is in America and UK, Doyle's copyright to the last ten stories is still in effect, so the name has to be changed. We should be thankful this game gets localized, or it would have remained Japan only.

Because an explanation for it has been posted over and over which you somehow ignored or overlooked. Like @Kanbolara said, the Doyle Estate maintains that any portrayal of Holmes with emotional development or respecting women falls under the realm of the last ten stories. So if Holmes is portraited as an aloof and unemotional stoic detective who's just there to solve mysteries, no problem. But any character development (like in this game with Iris) is at risk of getting sued.
I do believe Janet Hsu probably figured out the legal issues and decided he'd be Sholmes early on, so all these years were just her working out the translation kinks and making sure her adaptation works.

@Natsura @Godzil: @Bentendo1609 meant the last room in the fossil exhibit, there's a roped off door on the second level, next to the spotlighted space where you (as a human) can stand on to complete the evolutionary tree.
I'm not holding my breath though, that door could just be representing a rear exit.

@CactusMan No, this is true. Although I couldn't verify if EVERY raid is being replaced by Magikarp (my first was a Comfey), one did show up in my second raid. You get a warning of "You can't catch this Pokemon. Is that OK?", and when you defeat it it just disappears.

She mistook the 3rd level with 4th. It is impossible to warp to the 4th level. In my opinion, you as a journalist should verify this in the game yourself before publishing though.

I don't think this is true. I looked hard at her mini map and her "4th level" has the same shade of green as a regular 3rd level. And at the last second of the video she was in the middle of placing a Small Mushroom Platform which should be impossible on the 4th level. (It was possible way early before but the glitch should've been patched by now)

AMAYBE the Blastoise, ABBPRI the Graveler, CHAD the Fearow, DHY the Jolteon, and TPP:) the Snorlax were released by Team Rocket during a gym battle by using Graveler's DIG and warping to a PC at around 1:06:38.

@AstroTheGamosian You actually SHOULD get New Horizons because it's all yours to control. Animals won't move until you specifically told them to when they ask you, UNLIKE in NL where they can still move away WITHOUT talking to you (if you ignore them long enough, they won't ping and'll just disappear = exactly your nightmare). By "town layout changes" you probably mean random villagers moving in and building houses in your flower garden in NL. Again, you have total control of that in NH. NH is a huge improvement in that aspect.

@BispoSnake While kyÅshuku (ęēø®) does translate to 'ashamed', it's more like a Japanese stock phrase that sounds respectful and nice to say in an interview, a social platitude/clichĆ© just like "Please understand". It means he probably behaved exactly what you suggested.
If a Japanese compliments you, reply "Kyoshuku desu" and you'll fit right in.

@UmbreonsPapa I did not. I had faith in NA trainer's club so, thinking it was simply delayed, I waited a good week before contacting them on Dec 20ish. By that time the European registrations already ended. Now I'm just crossing my fingers that someone out there has an extra code, or trade me one (something affordable).
@Heavyarms55 I assumed so too based on past experience, but IIRC this is the first Trainer's club code distribution for Switch so perhaps they changed it to only give out a certain number of codes and screw the others.

@Heavyarms55 A lot of us didn't get one (see my post #13), and my theory is Europe is gauging NA's response to see what the minimum number of codes they can get away with. Like if 100,000 (made-up number) codes weren't enough, maybe a million this time etc.

@Zach777 : @UmbreonsPapa probably sent the complaint to support.pokemon.com before Dec 12. After that date, the agents just throw you a canned response of "We apologize but we have no replacement codes for this promotion as of 12/22/2020" followed by unhelpful suggestions of how to re-subscribe, then close your case. I suspect there's only a limited number of codes and they simply sent to the top 100,000 (random number) on their mail list then automatically ignored the rest. I subscribed years ago, never missed any newsletter including previous codes, but just Zarude.
Any kind soul that has an extra European code you cannot redeem? I hate to beg but please throw me a bone too (hadaasharpedo at gmail dot com)
