Well the man has good taste. Worth noting that Steam is not perfect though. The discounts are great, and the features are all good, but god help you if you want to talk to some support staff. The void will stare back at you, and you will come out older but with the same problems.
Yeah, I have no interest in Final Fantasy whatsoever. I'd buy this if it came out here. It's too bad Nintendo region lock their consoles and Square Enix assume the West wants nothing but Final Fantasy.
Square Enix, you wound me once more. I eagerly await your five 3DS Dragon Quest titles, money in hand. When you come to your senses I will be here ready to buy them. All I can hope is that the day comes sooner rather than later.
Honestly, there's so little text in the game. A quick translation, and an eShop only release, just give us something! Why is it that with Dragon Quest you're suddenly convinced that no one wants it? Bravely Default was a new franchise, and that did better than you expected, but for some reason you still think that Dragon Quest, one of your two biggest franchises, has no place here.
Nintendo need to realise that people don't hate Metroid, they hate Other M. Not making its mistakes again is as easy as looking to every other Metroid game for how you actually make a good game.
Great Article Nintendolife, it really sums up the problems with the program, and I'm glad to see this site goes with the facts and criticises Nintendo when they mess up. Hopefully those who still support this system can come to understand how stupid it is.
There will however, always be those who stand by it, if only because of their jealousy of popular YouTubers or their inability to acknowledge flaws from Nintendo. Its unfortunate, but in the end this decision hurts Nintendo more than anyone else, and they will have to pay for their blunder.
Pretty much shows why the NA Club Nintendo was always better - actually getting games to buy. Here in Europe I can choose to spend my remaining stars on eShop points for last generations consoles, or phone ring tones....
@Melkac - He's fairly blunt, and I realise many people don't tend to like that, but its not like what he says is untrue, and I think that's the most important part.
Here's the problem Nintendo - Anyone who actually covers games on YouTube for their career is simply going to stop playing your games. Why would they possibly choose to accept these terms, this lower pay, and these restrictions, when their audience comes for them?
Sure, plenty of amateur YouTubers or severely devoted ones might jump on board, but they're not going to be giving you any extra advertising than you were already getting. Disappointing move again for Nintendo. They need to understand having control of everything isn't always the best answer.
They're free to carry on with their mistakes though. I'll continue to watch the YouTube channels I'm interested in that have ceased to cover Nintendo content for these very reasons.
@Kaze_Memaryu - If Nintendo blocked something on their system that was breaking the rules of their system then people would riot? Er, no, they wouldn't. People have had their 3DS' with region lock for a long time until this came out. You're assuming something would have happened with no evidence, no prior cases of it happening in the past, and a flimsy excuse for giving up.
Nintendo is already feeling the pressure of people telling them to get rid of region locking, and if you care about it this much, then fricking do something about it. Contact Nintendo. Sign petitions. Don't sit here grumpy because you seem to think your only opportunity is down the drain.
Microtansactions are not an inherently bad idea - they could in theory bring life and updates back to finished games. Unfortunately they lead down a slippery path, and I cant really expect any company to stay off it forever.
I'm sorry, what? You're making it sound like Nintendo should care about second hand game sellers. Why the hell would they? Nintendo make no profit off of it, people who want the game can now access it more easily, and collectors or people who try to profit off of second hand sales lose some value, because what they're doing is in essence a gamble. This is such a non-issue.
The only people I feel sorry for are those who bought the game for an inflated price because they wanted to play it, only for it to come out cheaply on the eShop, but that's how the economy works, and sales/dips in prices always lead to that. It's nothing new.
@Kaze_Memaryu - You really are in complete denial. Nintendo would have gotten rid of the region-lock bypass anyway, and if they wouldn't, why wouldn't they just stop region locking your consoles?
Nintendo are the ones who region lock their console. They are the reason that we cant play games from other regions. You act as if Nintendo wants to give us a region-lock bypass but cant. It is in their complete control. I swear, the amount of blame you're trying to shift away from the company actually responsible for this system is astounding. The amount of mental gymnastics needed to blame a random person for region locking rather than the company that is implementing it is just saddening.
If Nintendo actually cared about their VC service this kind of thing wouldn't be as much of a problem. Cant blame anyone for using this system - it's emulating 20 year old games that Nintendo themselves don't see fit to release on their service.
Cost: 3000 stars.
Errr.... yeah. Thank god the service is dying off.
With my left over 1900 stars I can buy some wallpapers/ringtones that can be obtained for free anyway, and a few points for the shop on the last generation of consoles. -.-
Ocarina of Time ended up being one of my least favourite Zelda games, and I got so bored I didn't even finish it. Majora's Mask seems different enough though, so I will probably pick this up at some point.
Fire Emblem: Awakening surprised me in how much I loved it. One of my top 5 games of all time. This announcement was the best part of the direct for me, and is already my most anticipated game of 2015.
Until A Link Between Worlds, Minish Cap was my favourite Zelda game. Yes, it is short - but quality over quantity. I'd rather have a game leaving me wanting more because it was great, rather than a long game boring me so much I cant even finish it. cough Ocarina of Time cough.
@noctowl - Wow, um, calm down? I have no part in any 'feminist agenda', I just think it looks stupid to still have this character in the equivalent of a bikini while in the snow.
This is coming from someone who enjoys a good laugh from TumblrInAction, so put down your pitchfork. There's no need to stereotype everyone you see.
People sure do love their Smash Bros. I guess. Also Shovel Knight was pretty much the only great game released on the eShop this year, so that's not really a surprise.
Lets take franchises that have barely any story in them (seriously, if you think Zelda or Pokemon have rich stories you really need to expand those horizons a bit more) and use the same formula again and again, then pretend that they actually have a meaningful or existing timeline!
I understand fan devotion, but try playing to the strengths of the franchise you enjoy.
Watching the trailer made me incredibly happy and depressed at the same time.
Unfortunately guys, this very likely will not be making it to NA/EU. This is Square Enix we're talking about. They've released five 3DS Dragon Quest games now, any of which I'd buy on day 1 were they to localise. When will they stop being stupid and localise something in the franchise again? We can only hope soon. This one would probably take, what, a week to translate the text in for a eShop only release here? -.-
They botch one of their two main franchises into terrible games, and then fail to localise any of the other. I don't quite know which fate is worse.
Could we please have some sign of the region this stuff like discounts is actually happening in, either in the title or the tag line? Im tired of hearing about this stuff then clicking just to realise half way down the article its only for one region. Even more peculiar since this is a UK based site, and this stuff mostly happens for NA.

Congratz, you abused a glitch and beat a boss quickly.

Re: Site News: A New Readership Survey Has Appeared
Mandatory subscription fee? Hahahaha, those GamerGate boycotts and advertisers pulling out must really be killing those other sites.

Ah, my favourite game of all time. Do yourselves a favour and play the DS version.
Re: Video: This Recreation of The Legend of Zelda in Minecraft is Something to Behold
Minecraft isn't coming to Wii U or 3DS. If you want it, buy it on PC - it'll always be the superior version anyway.

Re: Here's A Sneak Peek At The New Theatrhythm Dragon Quest 3DS Theme
@TossedLlama - I don't think it means anything in that regard. Every Dragon Quest game since III has had 4 party members max battling at one time.

Petitions aren't great, but outside of emails, they're pretty much all we have at this point.
Re: Feature: Five Nintendo 64 Games We'd Love to Play on 3DS
I first played Mario 64 on the DS and I loved it. I'd certainly buy a 3DS remake with improved visuals and controls.
Just keep in all that multiplayer stuff Nintendo - I know you've been having a recent tendency of leaving it out for no real reason.
