Pre-purchased Cuphead and bought Blaster Master Zero 2!

"Animal Crossing fans seem to be an incredibly dedicated bunch who are hungry for news at the best of times" Sounds to me like Nintendo fans in general. First it was Zelda, then Smash Bros, now it's Animal Crossing.

This demo will be a great way for me to determine whether it's worth high price for the full game. That is what stopped me getting it to begin with.

@Silly_G That's because there is a hardcore fan base that will buy anything and everything Sega spit out regarding Sonic no matter how bad it is. Remember how nasty they got when previews for Sonic Forces were pretty underwhelming?

Obviously all core fanbases do the same thing no matter the game series, but there is something about the hardcore Sonic fans that seems to be louder than others.

ToeJam and Earl Back in the Groove for me this weekend. Will see if I can be bothered playing anything else.

@Varkster You clearly haven't been paying attention to the huge success this game has been seeing since it's launch then. Granted it is still early days, but it's doing incredibly well so far.

@saintayu Don't start me on The Movies. I was so unbelievably hyped for that game during the months leading up to release.

@Welshland I did think perhaps I should clarify it was a real thing when commenting. I backed it and they have provided updates on every step of production. It's not emulated but entirely hardware based - it is effectively an 8 bit ZX Spectrum but backwards compatible with all existing games.

@dystome @SmaggTheSmug They are making a new Dizzy game, but it's for the ZX Spectrum Next. Not heard much about the game but it's apparently happening. Think they released one or two screenshots a little while back.

I feel like this game is going to become massively overshadowed by a little game called Crash Team Racing, though perhaps not as much on the Switch.

That moment when you realise EA has an overall higher score on Metacritic than Nintendo.......

So, how many years until this one gets localised to the West?

Maybe now is the time to take Soulja Boy to a wonderful place filled with luxury rooms with padded walls, a nice comfy white coat with straps and most importantly - absolutely zero access to the internet, phone, camera or any other kind of communication with civilization.

Why is Boycee from Only Fools and Horses doing the advert? Not sure I trust the game if he's involved...

I should say I am surprised that Travis Strikes Again is not in the top 10, but I'm not. In fact it's not even in the top 40 according to the Chart Track website.

@SuperCharlie78 Where did 30 million install base come from? I didn't think Nintendo released any recent figures for the Switch?

@Sandro89 Mario Kart 8 did get updates on the Wii U but they weren't free - they were paid so I doubt Nintendo would ever do free content for that series. As for Mario Party, that is an odd one. I can see Nintendo holding that announcement for a Direct. But then again, they love pumping out Mario Party games so they could just not bother with updates.

Unless Nintendo is paying for a project to be developed by Bungie, either Destiny related or entirely new, I am not expecting anything to come to the Nintendo Switch.

@The-Chosen-one Those games aren't EA games. They fall under the EA Originals banner. Basically, EA helps funds and market indie produced games like Unravel 1 & 2 and A Way Out but doesn't make any profits from the sales. That's all they are doing.

@FuseBlues That makes more sense. Things must be real bad if there was this many staff quitting. Will be interesting to see how things play out.

How well have Level 5 games been performing recently? That's the only reason I could think of as to why staff would be cut.

He knows the latest Switch figures, or at least has a decent idea, so he is the one to know whether or not Nintendo has a chance in reaching 20 million console sales. Time will tell.

That’s awesome going. Hopefully it’ll bypass the entire PS4 lime fairly soon, especially with the lineup expected to come in 2019

There’s just so many games releasing, I’m gonna hold off and see if anything reviews well. Only thing I’m tempted by is Firewatch but I’ll get that on either PS4 or Xbox One.

@Anti-Matter Actually, their excuse when this happens has often been "It's because the Switch has no games, so they're all desperate to play something". I have seen that used multiple times across various games.

@Grumblevolcano I don’t really think Sony needs to do anything much. It’s not like there’s anything coming to the system from first party studios which we don’t know about. I agree that for 2019, I’m expecting a Direct type thing to happen to provide any final details on these few remaining games before they launch.

But sales are still real strong for hardware so they can kind of just sit back and take it steady and put all their efforts into getting the best possible launch for the PS5.

@Grumblevolcano While that is certainly an obstacle for Nintendo, that isn't likely happening until 2020 and next year will be another big year for Nintendo, judging from what we know about the games releasing.

It will all depend on how Nintendo market and support the Switch with releases during the year Sony and Microsoft announce and launch the next set of consoles.

@Balta666 Ah I heard about the billboard at Waterloo station but from where I’m based in the UK, all I’ve seen recently is Pokemon TV adverts. Hope it’s not all been focused on London.

@Scottwood101 All I keep seeing are cringe worthy TV adverts for Pokemon Let’s Go being available at Smyth’s. Not seen anything else. I hope that’s not how Nintendo looks at the customer base in the UK - as a kids only market.

@rjejr I certainly feel like as I’m getting older, all I’m looking for are games that take me back to my past. Though I never have played Duke Nukem back in the day, I did play Doom! In fact I bought the game again on GOG just to play it again. Do you have games that you can play when your kids have gone to bed?

@rjejr That explains a lot. If this is the nearest we get to a remake or successor to that game then I hope it reviews well. Did you ever play Ruff n Tumble back in the day? Not sure if it released in the US.

I’ve been wanting to play this since it first came out, but never got round to it. Still think if, or when, I do finally buy it, it’ll be on either PS4 or Xbox One where it’s bound to be cheaper. Though it’s tempting to have it on the Switch so can play it at work during Christmas week.

@Agent721 Those who are certified by Twitter I reckon are in the know on what’s going on and are just doing it to “support” or as you said, were paid. But I think some of his fans truly believe anything this man says. And that I think is the scary/worrying part of any fan base.

@Agent721 Looking into the replies of one person who bought into it, they are actually that stupid that they actively believe he invented this console and put a tonne of hard work into it, even though others had provided evidence of how much of a scam this is.
