Fortnite's latest crossover features the cinematic monster Predator, it has been revealed.
The alien hunter can be unlocked as part of the Chapter 2 Season 5 Battle Pass. By completing special Jungle Quests, players can unlock the Predator Outfit with built-in Bio-helmet Online Emote, as well as a unique Heat Vision Hunter Spray, Banner, and Emoticon.
The Predator movie franchise began back in 1987 with the blockbuster Arnold Schwarzenegger action flick of the same name. A sequel (without Arnie) followed in 1990, and since then we've seen two other (mostly unsuccessful) attempts to revive the series – one in 2010 and another in 2018. Another Predator film – helmed by Dan Trachtenberg – is currently in production.
Oh, and who could forget the crossover series Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007)? Well, us actually, because they weren't particularly good.
Elsewhere, we've seen multiple video games based on the series, including Predator: Concrete Jungle (2005) for PS2 / Xbox and, more recently, Predator: Hunting Grounds. The Predator was also a downloadable character in Mortal Kombat X. The Aliens vs. Predator spin-off series has had its own line of games, too.

Still wont make me play the game. (Ya i'm going to be that guy)
@Snatcher But you will open the page and leave a comment. Good job dude!
Just wait for the other comments to roll in.
Give me AvP remake on the switch please, not this
Can't wait to fight the Predator!
Ok but Fortnite's demographic is children. Why are they advertising Predator, an IP definitely not for kids, to them?
@TJC04 Who said it for for kids? I'm pretty sure it was for teens and adult even if kids play it.(you might be joking and if you sorry for possibly ruining your joke)
Thats basically just a skin right?
There was a time for years back in the earlier 2000's Aliens vs Predator 2 for PC was my LIFE. I could talk all day about how that was the best single player and multiplayer game. Ever. Too bad the licensing for that game is so convoluted it will never see a proper re-release in any form.
I know that has nothing to do with this article (I don't play Fortnite) but any time I see anything Aliens/Predator in video game news my emotions get all worked up like talking about a beloved dead pet or family member I miss that game so much.
@HorridCrow isn't that the point? To voice your opinion?
At this point everything is in fortnite now, what's the appeal?
@Arkay Ya I was going to point that out but thought that it was best to leave it be.
@Yanina no, it IS a skin
This is pretty cool, but these skins are way too expensive.
A game with an age rating of 12 advertising over 18 stuff, typical.
@Snatcher
I will join you in being "That Guy"
Still not playing. No thank you
Alien would have been better.
@TJC04 That’s a good question. The age rating is ESRB Teen or PEGI 12. If I remember correctly, the first 2 Predator movies are rated R, maybe the 3rd, but I’m not sure about the most recent movie, which might have a lower rating.
Now, it’s been a while since I’ve submitted anything to ESRB but it used to be that additional content added to the game needed to stay inline with previously rated in-game content. There was also a slight hole with the online interactions not being rated by them, but that was just to cover them from you playing with jerks.
The other part of an ESRB rating deals with advertisement. You have to stay in your lane an advertise to the target demographic. You also have to put the dang rating on said advertisement, even if it is a promotional preorder poster so it ruins the poster. Kinda lame.
So I’m guessing the in-game content doesn’t change the rating (no added blood/gore/nudity/language/violence). And I’m not sure about cross promotion, but it seems like it doesn’t matter. I as a kid loved Aliens/predator/other violent or scary movies, and bought the toys for them meaning rated R movies were targeting kids attention back in the 80’s. The toys weren’t violent (well, that part required imagination), but they were advertisement s for the violent movies.
Fortnite is definitely targeting kids with a section of the toy aisles dominated by the toys. Kids can’t shut up about it, even the ones that don’t play it.
Maybe the combination of the game content staying in-line with the original rating, and maybe the latest movie being a lower rating (possibly? I didn’t look) allowed for this to happen.
@dew12333 To be completely fair, there was some Predator stuff that was not 18/R. Like the rather bad Paul W. Anderson (Monster Hunter, Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil) movie AVP and a lot of comic books aimed for teens (Predator vs. Tarzan etc.).
But I totally get what you are saying.
@Snatcher It’s fine. I wasn’t joking.
And Fortnite’s target demographic is definitely children. There are plenty of people who aren’t in that demographic that love it, I love Mario and Pixar movies even though the target audience is much younger than me, but all the merchandise and most of the other DLC is clearly aimed for a young demographic, which is fine, but I don’t know why they’re advertising Predator to them. Children would wonder where they’re favourite character from Fortnite comes from, and they potentially would find content that isn’t suitable for them.
add Predator to the list of sell-outs...
Is it supposed to look like he’s wearing fish net stockings?
@Snatcher your posting in between games of fortnite....come on, admit it.
Give us a port of the Alien vs Predator for Jaguar
I think I'd rather a skin of Dutch then the Predator. Also if you could get an emote of Dutch saying "Get to the chopper" that truly would be epic. Especially if helicopters returned.
@Snatcher Fortnites fun, its just a money-grabber. If anything more people should play Fortnkte Save The World. Its way funner and doesn't make you rage. (Unless your online and someone scams you.)
@FlashmanHarry yessir
@Arkay Commenting that you've never played or are planning to play a game is spam, not voicing your opinion. Plus, it always struck me as odd why folks would go out of their way to make everyone else know they won't waste time on a certain game, yet gladly waste time talking about it.
@PortablexombieV2 I don't play fortnite I will tell you infront of all thies people I havn't played it for a whole year stoped ad seasson 2 chapter 2.
@HorridCrow The 2nd part of your comment makes sense, but the first part? Not at all.
