Re: Kimishima Says Nintendo Has Plans For The 3DS In 2019 And Beyond

FireMario887

I must emphasize just how much I adore the 3DS. For its great games and altogether versatility. However, I think it is time that they focus their marketing on the Switch. Being both a home and portable console. Not that I have a bachelor's degree in economics or whatever, I'm not even in college yet-- I think it would please consumers if the primary focus be the Nintendo switch and dishing out quality titles for it.

The 3DS had a fantastic run, but please N, time to move on.

Re: Sega AGES Is Officially Coming to Nintendo Switch In The West

FireMario887

I'm not sure about their emphasis on bringing back the glory days of Sega to the modern age. Too many times have I seen Sega try to tickle the nostalgia glands and it is more like performing brutal rubs on said glands. I wish they would work towards putting effort into modernizing their franchises and dishing out new titles.

Re: No, Sega Is Not Returning To The Home Console Arena

FireMario887

Lol, if Sega were to make another console, then their only be a button and stick, you know for recent Sonic titles.

...........Obviously I'm kidding.

I'm in the camp that thinks Sega should reside with other consoles. I think they should devote time towards trying to repair their franchises, like, you know, Sonic, before even considering stepping back into the console game.

Re: Review: Sonic Mania (Switch eShop)

FireMario887

I don't know if there will be anyone looking at the comments here anytime soon, but I'll share my opinion anyway. I'm not sure if I like classic Sonic all that much. My problem involves the core objective of having to work towards gaining the speed and being rewarding with it for doing what it takes to master the physics. I play Sonic games to go fast and get a white-knuckle, fast-paced joyride of a game, but when the classics make me work to try to gain that thrill, it just doesn't appeal to me all that much. Obviously, I know that there will be many disagreeing with me here, however I think I prefer the approach of most modern Sonic games in which the exhilarating speed is given to you up front and the challenge is to be able to maintain said speed by quickly reacting to obstacles. The boost formula games need work done to them, but I'm really hoping we can actually get a good Sonic game that executes the Boost games' ambitions well.

Re: Video: Don't Cry Over these Top Ten Worst Mario Games

FireMario887

@gaga64 That's what I thought.

Don't have the time to check our the video now, I'll watch it an hour or five. I'm guessing that spin-off's are going to make up majority though. It would be a difficult endeavor (maybe not) to craft a list of top 10 main Super Mario platforming games. If this is what it is, then props to you Alex and (if I actually read the article) rabbidluigi.

Re: Super Mario Happy Meal Toys Are Coming Back To The UK This Summer

FireMario887

Mario's throne of bricks is bad enough, but what is up with Bowser's tounge... This going to be an obscure reference, but That's part of his Koopa genetics his embarrassed of... Remember in Super Mario Sunshine when Shadow Mario stuck his ludicrously elongated mouth muscle at Mario... Or you know, It's just a funny gag and I'm reading too much into it.

Re: Zelda: Breath of the Wild Gets Stunning 5-Disc Soundtrack Release

FireMario887

Far from my favorite Zelda sound track (TP thanks to to that energetic attack the boss tune), but there are some decent tracks in there. Especially the moments when you team up with the Champions' descendants to battle the Divine Beasts. See, I'm kind of torn on music in general. I prefer music that complements on on screen action as opposed to trying to listen to a good song. But that's just me.

Re: Metacritic Ranks Nintendo Second In Its 2017 Game Publisher Rankings

FireMario887

Don't get me wrong, I think number scores are an important thing and give a statistical measure of how valued a game is, but they shouldn't be the most prominent feature in reviews. I think the written and informative aspect of the reviews out to be emphasized instead of the scores. I'm not saying the number should go away, but maybe make it a more subtle feature, if you know... That's the correct usage of the term. I think it's important to know how
exactly the content holds up via thought out opinion and information. Try to keep one's own opinion in mind in writing review and not the number that the game deserves. Anyway... My little rant.

Re: Video: 9 Mario Games We Wish had Never Existed

FireMario887

So I recently woke up and I was watching this half asleep. By the time the creepy bodiless head of Mario presented itself on Teaches Typing Part, I was, well........ Awake.

On a side note, if they want to try and eliminate the turn based formula and waiting around in Mario Party, then maybe they should adopt a racing style game, where you are always playing and maybe setting traps or something to slow down opponents. Running through a minigame block or something will trigger a minigame and the winners in said minigame could get bonus spaces. May not work well for split screen play, but ideal for online/wireless play. Idk, just a thought.

Re: Sounds Like We Might Be Getting A New Sonic & All-Stars Racing Game Soon

FireMario887

Oh man, the nostalgia. I remember playing uh... SART on my Wii U a while back and boy it was a lot of fun. I wish Sega could dish out the kind of quality they have for these racing games for their Sonic games. Many may disagree with me, but I feel like a tradtional Sonic game could play well as a single-player racer-style game with racetrack like level designs. That's just me though
