If it's true, I welcome it and hope they make some hardware that can rival and/or beat Nintendo's Switch 2 and whatever else Nintendo has planned in the future. Strong competition gaming platforms is good for the industry and gamers.

I wish Xbox wasnt declining, and I wish Sega was still making consoles. I dont want gaming to end up being only Nintendo and Steam. I want multiple viable platforms.

I listened to the episode, it was pretty cool. Anyone who's a Stardew fan and interested in seeing/ listening to a wildly obsessed stand up comedian worship Barone for ~ an hour and a half, should probably give it a listen.

Bobby Lee ( guy running the podcast) reaches "Misery" levels of admiration for the guy. I got too much to play already, but it got me wanting to start up a game. I only ever dabbled with Stardew in the past.

This crew seems like it's comprised of really pleasant and talented people, I hope it does well for them!

I enjoy my Steam Deck, Switch OLED, and am hoping to get a Switch 2 preorder when it becomes available in my country. I'm able to enjoy these platforms without needing to compare and diminish.

I get the sense that there's overlapping fans in both camps, and the ones that are exclusive to one or the other are generally too busy enjoying their games and are kind of oblivious to the other platform.

I'd want it to be either stop- motion ( Laika) or full on puppetry (Jim Henson style).

Remove DRM- GoG style.

For that that don't know- GoG.com (good old games). All of their games are drm free, so once you buy them, you can download the game and its yours. Period. The games do not require you to verify your copy, like steam and nintendo does. its just yours. If gog.com goes out of business, you can just download your library and its yours for all time- or at least as long as you maintain your backups. Love that site.

I found it completely underwhelming. I can't believe i'm writing this, but this is a pass for me.

I don't understand why they would sell this collection in a limited quantity. It's as if they are going out of their way to aid scalpers and antagonize FF fans.

It might be time for me to start looking into repros.

I don't understand the significance of Smash not being at EVO. Smash doesn't need EVO, and despite EVO's viewer numbers taking a hit, EVO will be fine.

Smash was the biggest event at EVO, and is big enough to have it's own event(s).

Looks like i'm changing my preorder to PS4. I thought the game's graphics looked modest enough that it'd run well on a Switch, but a 30 frame drop plus a 10 second load time switching out gear is a deal breaker.

I was going to get Triangle, but then Elden Ring Happened. I also cancelled my Gran Turismo 7 preorder. I won't be playing anything else for the next few months.

I saw the dude from the tweet, Yang, do a presentation of the steam deck on a stream, love this guy's demeanor- completely unhype and matter of fact. He wasn't trying to sell it. He was like a regular 9 to 5 guy.

So overwhelmingly bleak... If i were to pick this game up, i'd definitely get it for a different platform. I could get into a game like this, but I like to keep my libraries for Nintendo systems more upbeat.

This seems to be the opposite of the type of experience i want to have when i'm playing on the Switch.

I'm not a Kirby fan, don't like pink.... I'd consider getting this.

This NEEDS a joycon with a dial on it ( like the OG Tempest cabs). I wish Nintendo had gotten funky with some joycon variants.

I would only consider getting this if MS 8th Team is on it, and Norris Packard is playable. It's the only Gundam series I was ever able to get into.

A Versus game, maybe Marvel vs Capcom 4. SNK vs. Capcom 3?

It would be cool to have it on the go, but I don't think i'm okay with the graphical downgrade after playing it on the PS5 and PC. Sometimes graphics do matter.

I doubt this is a cloud version, I think its the real deal.

I am keeping my expectations low and will wait to read the reviews. The first part is due out this summer, yet they didn't show any gameplay. That's NOT a good sign.

I don't like smash nor nick all stars, but that's a needlessly disrespectful headline. It reads more like a thread topic from reddit than a headline for a proper videogame news site.

I was excited when I saw the trailer back when it was announced, but then I remembered Little battler's experience. LBX was tedious. I couldn't play more than a couple of hours before shelving it. Despite this positive review, I feel okay about missing out on this one.

I didnt know the console wars were still a thing.

I thought we were all at a place where most owned different consoles and/or respected/ liked most all of them.

Even if it did, its not a good fit.

The Joycons are terrible for 2D fighting games, Nintendo's online wouldnt be able to handle online matches, and the graphics are going to be current gen.

I found out about her through Happy Console Gamer last year. She runs a really pleasant channel. I binged a lot of her videos during lockdown, it was a great respite from everything that was (and in some cases still is) happening in the world.

I don't like JRPGs as much as she does, but I really enjoy listening to her talk about them.

Correct. Wait= turn based combat

Normally, I prefer it to be active in JRPGs, but this game's combat UI makes it tough to tell who's turn it is. Just for reference- I'm playing in handheld mode on both OLED and Lite systems. I switched it to "wait" and it fixed the problem for me.

@Deerock69 You can change it to "wait", rather than "active". Not trying to sell you on the game, just fyi.

I disagree with, "The texture of the dungeon board is sumptuous". I think they should have made it look like a hand drawn map or like a map that would be used for a D&D game. With just a little more effort, it could have looked a lot more interesting, visually.

My impression so far ( just 2 hours in), the characters feel very "samey". I appreciate the flavor text they include for each one, but there seems to be little difference between them. It seems to be a matter of what gear each one has equipped.

So far, I like it. It's a little overpriced, but its fine. For some reason, this game makes me want to revisit Legend of Legacy. I never finished it.

I'm reconsidering it now. If Square is putting it out there, they must be confident that its a solid title. Maybe there's some substance to it, maybe it can be a chill experience.

I do wish they put some effort into the look of the map. I think they should have at least tried to emulate the maps DM's use for table top games. It wouldnt have taken much to do so. It just looks so sterile.

I'm surprised that FC6 is so high on the chart. I'm under the impression that Japan generally dislikes western games that aren't Minecraft.

I'm a fan of the series and love open world games on the Switch, but I don't want to play these games on a Nintendo system. It feels wrong to me. I'd rather play the grown up/messed up stuff on the PS5/ PC.

As a fan of both Ghosts n' Goblins and Monster Hunter, i'm embarrassed that I didn't see this coming. So painfully obvious...

Even if it's they're excellent ports, I dont want to play these games on my Switch.

When it comes to Nintendo systems I own, it's really corny, but I prefer playing more wholesome/ upbeat games on them. I'd rather play the grittier games on other platforms.

I used to work on this show! I don't play platform fighters, but i'm tempted to pick it up just to represent. If they include someone from As Told by Ginger, then i'm for sure buying this!

The woodpecker move looks OP!

I played briefly and the controls don't feel right. I'm thinking there's too much of a dead zone on the analog stick. It surprised me b/c it's M2 and previously older arcade games felt "alright" on with the joycon ( not as good as a D-Pad though). Anyone else have this impression?

I pre ordered a physical copy. I hope I don't regret it, I hope it performs okay on the Switch.

If Steam Deck works also with Game Pass, its going to be a monster! Probably will cancel my OLED preorder, unless one of my friends wants it.

It looks cool, but i'll wait for the reviews and see what the difference in performance is between platforms.

Considering how difficult it will to be to find one to buy, im okay with not getting with this model.

My copy just arrived- impeccably packaged! Absolutely pristine condition. It arrived a couple of days early as well. I can't wait to check it out!

Im convinced that Switch owners ( other than myself) never take there Switches outside of their home. I live in a major city, travel often, and have only ever seen maybe THREE people rocking their Switch in the wild and it's been 5 years since it's release!

Everyone in the real world gaming have been on a tablet/ phone. Either the Switch's popularity has been overstated, or Nintendo fans are too embarrassed to game in public ( again, other than me).

Despite the game being polygonal, I hope this is animated in 2-D rather than CGI.

I'll give this a shot! It seems like a perfect ( presuming its good) super- chill game for the summer.

@ERIC_MACK I was hoping for a MEGADUNGEON to compliment the open world theme of BoTW.

An epic underground journey, but more of the same it is. I guess.
