Just the other day, we shared some gorgeous Mario artwork based on Japanese mythology from artist Canadian Turtle.
Now, artist Léo Chérel has taken Mario and friends in the polar opposite direction with a lovely collection of summer-themed artwork that appears to take a lot of cues from Super Mario Sunshine.
You can check out the collection along with Léo's other artwork over on ArtStation. In the meantime, check out the incredible selection down below.
The artist has prints available for some of his most popular work, and recently highlighted some personal favourites on his Twitter account in honour of MAR10 day:
What do you think of those? We reckon they're stunning, and it's making us want to take our own vacation in Isle Delfino!

That is some really nice art style! His ArtStation is really impressive.
Waluigi gives me Travis Touchdown vibes with those sunglasses.
This artwork is so cool, very different from what we normally see but I like this take on it.
Love the Artstyle and especially the picture of the Piantas playing Boccia. But... what is the Koopa beside Daisy doing?
@Aninok Daisy's nicked his shell to play volleyball with
Not impressed.
Don't like with his art style. 😕
I prefer cute looking Mario.
Daisy's cold blooded!
@chardir Oh yeah, I didn't put two and two together xD
It’s really different but I like it.
Is Princess laughing at Bowsers shrinkage?
Daisy looking thicc af
Nice stuff. Great sense of gesture and personality with the characters.
Nintendo should hire this man
This artstyle would fit for a beachvolleyball game, kinda like that one minigame from Mario Party 5/6
I really like how much personality they got in simple gestures. I liked Luigi and Waluigi best
This is really nice. I like seeing the Mario crew in creative poses and outfits like this. The style is really great too! Really good line work.
wow he gave a lot of personality to them
W-W-W-Waluigi....

Jokes aside, as someone who absolutely loves Sunshine, I really like these. There's something about the aesthetic of video game characters in regular, everyday clothes that just looks so damn good man. I remember there was an artist who did something similar to this but for Smash characters and I loved that too.
No Rosalina beach love? She's by far my favorite Mario lady.
These are definitely a looker.
Lovely stuff!
Waluigi is giving me David Tennant vibes
Can't deny the talent. But the content is ... questionable.
Good stuff!
That pic of Peach and Bowser makes me wonder... in the games, is she being kidnapped or "kidnapped"?
Ah, the thing every anime needs, a beach episode!
love how he portrayed Peach and Bowser in this art - I just find the art style a little weird, but it's pretty cool to see
@ancientlii these arts are really very creative and personalized (although I find your animation style a little weird), but that doesn't mean that Mario's characters didn't have personality before
@Ade117
And we love it all more.
Love how I look in that picture
Love these. More game art articles please. Thank you!
