These look great! The Switch has been out now for 3 years? I feel like we should have had dozens of wild looking joycons by now.

I've been using the split pad pro with Grid lately, its far better for nuanced control than the standard Nintendo joycon. Going through corners, I'm better able to feather the throttle with the Split Pad.

It's great that you're interested in the genre now, and are open minded, but I would recommend trying some of the well regarded RPGs. Maybe Xenoblade, Dragonquest, NiNoKuni? If youre interested in western RPGs, maybe hold out for Cyberpunk.

This title looks like a gamble, it'd be unfortunate if your interest in RPGs was sunk by this game.

I LOVE DRAGON'S DOGMA! My expectations for this show are pretty low ( the game's story is lacking, I expect the same here), but I don't care. I will consume anything related to this game!

The D pad placement is unfortunate. I would have swapped its position with the left analog stick, same as a Dualshock. Inputs would be much more precise.

This is the right call. The Switch is a terrific, but it can't handle a game like this.

There is an "Akina" car at 30 seconds in. These people know what's up!

DAY 1!

I heard Nintendo's online is laggy for fighting games. I'll stick with PS4.

Day one! Never knew about this game until this write up.

I enjoy trying to climb a leaderboard in racing games. I prefer it to competing directly with other racers. It's more chill. I have enough challenges in my life that I don't need to be in constant fear of a blue shell.

I dont think i'll be getting this, but it has inspired me to play some Geometry Wars. Played some on Vita this morning b/c of this write up, but I think i'm going to have to fire up the ol' 360 for my favorite version!

Good luck to this crew. It's going to take a lot of work to distinguish themselves from all the other indie, faux- retro, pixel art, metroidvanias.

Really terrific, insightful video. Honestly, I clicked cause she looked cute in the thumbnail. I didn't expect her to get into the real nitty- gritty of her job. It was really fascinating. Watching her do Ash's defeated exhale after he takes ember(?) to the face was hilarious!

Props to the voice director and engineer. Their crew seems to be on it!

I'd like Metal Gear and Silent Hill to be bought by Sony. I'd rather see these titles on the PS5 rather than Switch. I love the Switch, but any new installments for these games should take full advantage of the new higher spec hardware.

Kojima, although I dont like this guy as much as everyone else, I still want to see his Silent Hill and he's been working with Sony for decades.

On the other hand, ports of the older titles to the Switch, of course are welcomed.

My understanding is that its fully backwards compatible with all generations of xbox games. DAY 1 for me.

I was really disappointed in the Baldur's Gate port. The controls do not translate well on the Switch. They're very clumsy. These games need the precision of a mouse to play properly, they are not a good fit for the Switch.

I wish I could say, but I haven't played either.

From the few hours i've played, this is a very fair review. I enjoyed what I played so far, but I think I would have liked it even more had it provided a digital manual to explain the game mechanics. I'm looking forward to playing this when I have the time. Despite being burnt out on sprite graphics, I do agree that its a good looking game.

"...plenty of protracted stints of blindly fumbling around available places until you finally find an NPC who can point you in the right direction" <---I think this is the most appealing part of the game for me.

Cool write up! A lot of insight into development process. The concept art ( cover art?) is terrific also. I'm guessing that the docs and art are from the upcoming Diablo artbook.

It would have been cool if they followed through back then, but having Diablo 3 and the other like games on the Switch now eases my disappointment.

Does this mean that breeding a pokemon with a specific nature and great IVs is not really necessary to be competitive online any longer?

Eh, It came out too late. Maybe next year.

With optimal lighting, the GBC screen is gorgeous! I have a GBAs with AGS 101 screens, but I still play on GBC when I know i'll have enough light.

Hope I can get one at launch! Very, very pleased with their Super Nt. It is quality hardware!

Completely agree, its not the best timing for this game. I'll be picking it up October 2020.

I would never had guessed a Tom Clancy game could get within the top ten of the Japanese sales chart, let alone #2.

If it’s a quality build and can run titles from GoG ( which are drm free) I would buy one, day one.

Standards have dropped for what is considered release ready. Made 2 characters, sound cut out on the games intro sequence both times.

These are not game breaking bugs, but it’s rushed shoddy work. Bought into what was said in above comments about panic button being a solid porter... meh.

Ports have been pretty bad recently ( pillars of eternity, my time in Portia, bloodstained). It’s a wait and see for me.

The Switch is a gold rush for studios. It seems like they get games out ASAP and worry about bugs/ patches later.

Requiring the creation of a Bethesda account to play a game you paid for is wrong.

I want to like this game, but like most mech games, the demo was so empty and lifeless.

They may as well use the same models, since its the same game anyways! =D

I dislike it when consoles are called " dead" at the end of their production. I will continue to play this system until the end of my life, alongside past, present systems. The 3DS is very much alive to me.

Most electronics, or at least the components of- phones, game consoles, tablets, are indeed manufactured in China.

Agreed! I rarely detach the joycons. I would welcome a uniform, single- bodied switch unit. No matter how secure the joycons are attached to the switch, there's always a slight bit of creek, and/or play on them. It's always bothered me, I would like it to be a more conventional, solid portable unit.

A smaller switch would be helpful to me. I travel, and like to pack light. Last couple of trips I took, I brought my 3DS instead of the Switch, because it's smaller and easier to stow in my carry- on ( and the battery life is better).

If the game has stereoscopic 3D, i'm getting the 3DS version. Been waiting for this, hope its good!

Can't help but think, this would have been terrific on the 3DS.

I watched a few episodes of High Score girl, I thought it looked okay. I do prefer 2D, there's a "warmth" to drawings still that cant be replicated in 3D, but the 3D looks "okay".

For some shows, it may be the only way Netflix can make them. Dragon's Dogma is a risky thing to take on, because it is likely to fail when compared to other animated shows they produce. They can mitigate their risk by keeping the budget lower and doing the show in 3D.

I suspect we'll be looking at a 2020 Q1 NA release for this. I'm okay with it, so many great games already out!

I suspect the superior version of this game is the 3DS release. From what I played, the stereoscopic 3D was really nice, and having a proper d-pad for it is great!

Terrific game! The parry/ counter mechanic is really fun to use and the platforming is well done. My only gripe with the game is that there is no in- game map, I don't think the physical map enough. Otherwise, great game!

I think anyone who was a fan of the Metroid SR (3DS), should consider picking this up.

I would have considered this had it not saddled the player with a set campaign/ premade character. I would love to have an Elite Dangerous type game on the Switch!

I played a bit of the Keep on the 3ds, the stereoscopic 3D looked quite nice. I imagine its likely better on the 3DS than Switch, despite the Switch having the nicer graphics.

Meh. This is unfolding as everyone presumed it would. This has zero effect on my growing enjoyment of Monster Hunter, no one is going to force me to watch it and a crew of film makers get to pay their bills for another year or so. Everything's good.
