You may have been watching Capcom's Monster Hunter Showcase from Tokyo Game Show with us earlier, but if you weren't there are certainly a few Monster Hunter Rise updates that you need to know about.

First up is a fun collaboration with Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection, which arrives on 29th October. It'll have an event quest in which you can earn the Arthur-inspired layered armour, and it'll even feature music from the tough platformer for good measure.

Another delightfully wacky tie-in that was announced, in this case a throwback to what we saw in the 3DS entries, is with Sonic The Hedgehog; that collab arrives in November.

We also got a brief look at the 'massive expansion' for Rise that's due next Summer - Sunbreak. It was confirmed that you'll need to have cleared the 7 star quests (the main story, in other words) in Rise to access the DLC, with your hunter leaving the village to discover multiple bases and locales in the new land. Capcom also unveiled the enormous and deadly crab-like monster Shogun Ceanataur, making a comeback from the old days of the series as part of the Sunbreak add-on.

If you missed the showcase earlier you can catch up below; it's worth a watch for the musical segment in the middle, in particular.

Let us know what you think of the upcoming 'collabs', and whether you're excited about the upcoming Sunbreak expansion.
