It's been a busy week for Pokémon fans. Last Friday's announcements of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and Pokémon Legends: Arceus were epic enough, but that hasn't stopped The Pokémon Company from bringing us even more unusual merchandise.
Having previously announced the Gengar "sleeping companion", a 5ft long Meowth, and "Diamond Variant" Funko Pops, The Pokémon Company's latest venture includes a crossover with DUO Japan to bring us Pokémon-themed fishing lures, based around Kyogre and Pikachu.
Being sold in Japan via the Backdoor Project, Pikachu costs ¥2,480 and is a jitterbug type, using three hooks with a removable tail. Kyogre goes for ¥4,980 and is a crawler type, utilising durable duralumin wings, and two blue feather hooks for a better catch.
Buying both gives owners a sticker of each lure, alongside a cleaning cloth. While fishing has been a long-standing mechanic within Pokémon games, we can't say this is an area of merchandise we ever expected to see.
Would you buy a Kyogre or Pikachu fishing lure? Let us know below.

Sorry but it's just hilarious to see a tiny Kyogre going for a swim like that.
Finally!
Non-objectionable clickbait!
As I replied to the Pokemon players breaking online rules story, I’m going to write exactly the same thing here:
“Gotta catch ‘em all.”
Fishing is for people who can't afford video games.
I could see myself buying the Kyogre, seems like it could do well for pike fishing..
That's the way I would do fishing!
Thought for a second it was Pokemon Fishing game! IGN's review would have said it had too much water...
if i was a fish, i wouldn't go near that 5#!t?!
That's gonna bring in the big boys
can i get one to put in the bath
I hate fishing.
Might be effective in luring Groudon
