Huh...Mighty Gunvolt Burst actually looks pretty good. I didn't quite like the 'gimmicks' for Gunvolt and MN9, so a straight up MM shooter-platform, which is what this looks to be, looks better per gameplay imo.
My cousin and some friends had a DS, the appeal of it didn't quite hit me until later, but the more I think about it, the more amazing I think the DS' feature set is/was.
Getting into the game late, I bought a cheap used DS Phat, Lite, and DSi on craigslist. Loved most all the iterations of the DS family, and seeing how Nintendo changes up the hardware.
The DS Phat is super durable, feels very sturdy, and has great volume on the speakers. The DSi was very sleek and I loved the matte finish. And in general, the dual screen combined with touch screen, with button controls, is really the best of all worlds.
Though I don't use it often, having a tiny bit of 3D on gives games a nice enhanced look, and while I haven't played through it, it blows/boggles my mind a bit when I try the AR games that come with the 3DS (like the AR that forms golf courses on your environment).
Looks interesting, I wonder how aiming is handled?
Though it makes me think of games like...what was it called, Three Heroes? Where each hero had a certain function and you had to move them all around to accomplish a goal (one person with a shield, one with a sword, etc). Makes me think a Shield guy in this game could be interesting mechanically, though gameplay-wise, not sure if it'd be fun to play an all defensive role
It seems like the star/leader in this game is Marie due to her Splatfest win...
If so, I'm really glad that happened. Her wit makes for more interesting dialogue than I think Callie's more cheery or potentially airheady dialogue would have been (if the roles were reversed, it'd be a depressed/worried/indecisive Callie, which would have been less interesting imo).
@Anti-Matter Little Mac would be awesome. If so, they should probably make him just have regular arms, but just super powerful if he is able to get in close and strike.
The Direct was fantastic imo, showed off a lot of content. Glad to see that health can be adjustable (in case one setting manages to take too short/long to punch through), the only real complaint I could see is that the Blind effect really does look to cover too much of the screen (and hence become OP), but it looked like it might fade away pretty quick so it might be fine.
Either way I've already pre-ordered this, glad to see a demo just to verify the gameplay, but I'd say it's shaping up very nicely.
I enjoyed catching badges and played it daily for a time (several months), I think the idea of collecting and decorating your system was an ingenious way to personalize the system.
I did put some money into it, but I felt like some maps are kind of rigged, and it became frustrating to me over time because of this. The great badges are usually hidden behind less appealing ones. I think for being digital, they definitely could make it more value for the money without actually costing themselves anything extra. I liked how they would create various themes or special versions of badges (holiday themed, crossovers, pixel, etc).
The bunny's speech and prompt to pay became tedious over time (if I want to pay, I'll pay, no need to remind me). At a certain point I had more badges than was really necessary, so that slowed my collecting down as well.
For the time, it was a fun thing to play and look forward to, so I'm glad it exists, but I'd want to see it provide more value and less cash grabby if they continued with it. The idea people have proposed of allowing Nintendo rewards to purchase plays would be a solid idea.
@NEStalgia Umm.. option D, all of the above, and in the stated order? ;p
Though I like the theory one person mentioned, that the guy in white was general event staff (and they noticed the issue first, perhaps they had seen something like it before and hence knew the risks / knew something had to be done early), while the black suits were the official Nintendo ninjas rushing in as they thought someone was attacking the pikachu, quickly re-evaluated the situation, and then switched to help mode.
@NEStalgia True, I mean if there were signs of suffocation then go and do what you need to do, but it looked like they caught it early before it became a problem (the pikachu wasn't looking away from the audience or trying to break off from the group of their own accord to try and flag someone for help, didn't fall down/faint or show signs of dizziness, etc), so in that case the best thing is to escort them offstage and then thoroughly exam the issue.
(edited) It does make you wonder what the ideal situation would've been, hmm, maybe to have 1 guy approach the deflating pikachu, but have him come in slowly, and to the beat of the music, every now and then turning to the audience to smile and pose with his hands/arms to reassure the audience, but kind of impromptu dancing his way to pikachu and escorting him out as if that was part of the show. That would be a pretty fancy way of doing it ;p but it'd be hard to come up with that on the spot and still not alarm the various Nintendo ninjas who are apparently present, but not in the know.
Though, in watching the video again, that suit deflates very quickly, like 5 seconds. So...I think the quick extraction method, was probably the best way to go, aside from potentially pulling the costume head off, but that way would certainly be a showstopper.
I think they did try to put the audience at ease some though, as on pikachu's return the staffers were kind of waving the arms and pointing at them as a triumphant /celebratory kind of return (and in a less mob like fashion ;p I think I heard the audience clapping as well), but alas, it was not meant to be
@Maxz Per the suffocation risk, I'd assume it actually would be kind of high. Since the pikachu is seen deflating, it must be a non-standard kind of costume which requires a fan or some other kind of device to keep the suit inflated.
There could be tiny holes for the air to escape out of (and hence, make it somewhat breathable, but the larger the hole(s), the greater the fan / air pressure would need to be to keep the suit inflated (think water in a boat with holes). That said, it's more likely the suit has smaller holes / is not very breathable / higher chance of suffocation, though part of it depends on the weight and thickness of the costume.
It's possible that when the costumes are very large, that as the suit began deflating, the performer inside lost / loses visibility (assuming you can only see through say, the eyes which are semi-transparent), so they may have been a bit forceful to help guide the person out.
I'm sure no one expected something like this to happen though, in 'crisis' situations it is difficult to know what to do.
@NEStalgia And while some of it may be 'brand' protection (for the argument that if there is a suffocation risk, why not just help the person out of the costume), how much more jarring would it be (for the kiddos) to 'pop' the head off of a pikachu and see a person inside?
I think as long as any glitches used don't cause a security concern for anyone (Nintendo or players), it's fine. It can and does generate interest, and gives players a way to get more value from a game (or a reason to sink lots of time into it, similar to speed runners searching for an edge or new shortcut to shave off a second or two)
If it were a competitive game such that a glitch gave an unfair advantage (in a competitive game like Splatoon or Smash), then I'd most likely want it addressed/patched accordingly.
I'll say that things like Wave Dashing or L Cancelling in Melee fall in a different category, they may not have been intended, but they are more like exploits of the physics engine and make the game more interesting (and don't provide too high of an advantage, are hard to pull off, and can still be beaten for the most part through just being good at the regular game). Moves like infinite grabbing via Ice Climbers is too much though (and either should be patched or banned), since if it is truly inescapable grab, then there's no fair way to work around it.
@manu0 Hopefully other people will see this as needed (the reply structure here is terrible, all replies should be nested instead, i.e. Nintendo Everything's structure using Disqus).
To your question of why one would ever need to power down a Switch (as opposed to Sleep mode):
It's good to note that all devices benefit from being fully powered down from time to time (helps reset the OS and all).
Potentially more importantly, MAKE SURE you fully power down before attempting to remove (or adding) the microSD. If it's not fully powered down, I hear it can erase data, which would be sad. Note that most of the time when one turns off the Switch, it is actually putting it into sleep mode (i.e. pressing the button up top is Sleep mode).
Console gaming is still pretty expensive, largely due to game price. While I'm glad for budget system options, I hope the 3DS line, and games in general, get a price reduction so that the hobby overall can be more budget friendly and reach a larger audience.
Sure, games go on sale, eventually, but outside the Nintendo Selects, the Nintendo line of games tend to be pricey (compared to the competition in sales prices, or gradual reduction of prices over time).
Capcom makes some great games, so I'd be stoked if they strongly support the Switch.
That said, please bring Mega Man Battle Network 1-3 on the Switch. A retro version via virtual console is fine, being able to play on the go (as it was meant to be) but also to share it via the big screen would be fantastic. If you want to remaster it, updating the network code to be able to battle people online would be perfect (with a mode to disallow Program Advances, as they can be a bit OP, but this is more a wishlist).
Will have to investigate, but Use Your Words sounds like fun (hopefully it has enough content to not run into old content often). My group's been enjoying Jackbox's Fibbage XL game, and this sounds like it could be similarly fun
The responses could be better, sure. But I on and off watched an hour or so of footage and it seemed like the game was pretty well designed for the top down trigger kind of action game that it is. Looked like it'd be fun to play or watch others play on the big screen.
Wasn't paying enough attention for stutters, may have to look into that (as it is important for a quick response game like this), but yeah. Don't get your controller wires tangled up too much about it peeps, you'll scare away third party dev support
But if the screen size shrinks at all, I sincerely hope a version like that isn't made >_> Games text would be smaller then too which could render some of them potentially unreadable.
I many times more would prefer a larger Switch (for less hand cramping, improved single joycon play for local multiplayer, and the larger screen would make local multiplayer easier [since the screen can be a bit small for multi when playing on the go]). Loses a bit of portability, but since the focus is on local multi, it'd be worthwhile imo (as long as it's not too too heavy, but I could always just table top mode it)
That said, I don't see why you'd want to buy (young-er) kids a Switch, a 3DS is a fair deal more affordable and practical (is my personal opinion) and has a better selection of games, or have them game on a WiiU or more traditional-ish console. The Switch is probably less durable as well, I treat it with a great deal more care then my 3DS, and for single player gaming, the DS/3DS line of games is much more creative with the dual screen and touch screen capabilities (is my opinion). I just can't see kids en masse wanting a Switch over a 3DS shrugs
...Is this really a first party title? I'd be surprised if so as it looks very short on content and not really impressive per graphics (not that a game like this really needs to be, but it does seem lacking). It looks like more of a minigame, I'll all for interesting / good gameplay multiplayer games, but if all this has is the one game then it should obviously be digital only, $5 or under, more like $2-3 being the sweet spot (they did mention online, so that's something).
I wouldn't mind if they made several games like this and priced them accordingly, the Switch is all about local multi so having a collection of short local multiplayer minigames could be sweet (i.e. Cutie Clash for Switch..!)
Ah, June is so far away... I was hoping it would arrive earlier to help ease the pain of waiting for Splatoon :,[
That said, like the new char. The battle footage seemed too long to maintain high interest throughout, seemed like they increased the character's health bars by like x3. I hope the standard mode has lower default health to make for faster matches / action, and perhaps making health bars adjustable in the Options menu (normal, large, largest, etc, I know some other fighting games allow this).
Moreso looking for VC to come out so I can play my Nintendo favs on the big screen and on the go, but a Smash game (minus Brawl) on the Switch would be fantastic
I'm all for the idea and am glad that this dev is making use of the Switch local wireless. Digging the art style, offhand it looks fun, but I'd have to see more gameplay footage.
A big factor would be in pricing, especially if it requires 4 Switches with 4 copies of the game to play. That would severely limit the audience, it's still a cool idea, but similar to LoZ 4 Swords, some ppl may skip altogether if they never plan to have that kind of setup available.
If the game is cheap that could help, or if you can do single-cart multiplayer that'd help a lot (that is, only 1 person needs the game, others can download temp data on their Switches to play). Another option is being able to play all on 1 Switch, but having the option to use 1-4 Switch systems, with the more Switches involved just meaning more Views or separate cameras/screens for the action. That'd be a pretty cool implementation.
Fingers crossed that they are able to make it work, cause I'd love to be able to try it, though currently I'm the only one with a Switch in my core gaming group (I could see 1 or 2 others picking up the system sometime, but yeah).
Surprised the reviews are this low, but hey...it's only $10? I thought it was $20. For $10 I'm open to checking it out, I had fairly mild interest before, but seems like a game that is fairly polished for that price point (tldr the article, just per my own initial video impressions).
I think they had a cart version too, if they dropped the price bc of the reviews, hopefully the move to physical didn't hurt profits too much.
I do like the change in formula and they pulled off the open world format quite well with LoZ Breath of the Wild, at this time, I don't think I'd want that to be the standard, though (they'd have to change the formula up a fair deal, I think, to make it interesting enough to be excited/buy into it).
One thing I think BotW sorely lacks are the large, cleverly made puzzled dungeons. I miss N64 Ocarina of Time style dungeons and thought it was quite unfortunate BotW did not have them. BotW did have some good puzzle moments, but most of the challenges were too brief imo, and some were way too simple.
The dungeons had a larger focus in previous entries, and I particularly like the ones created in Zelda 2, Link's Awakening, Link to the Past, and OoT.
Good blend of sharp and unique graphics and off-the-wall/cartoony action. Seems a perfect match for the Switch! I don't play many sports games, when I do they tend to be more like the unrealistic over the top action like NBA Jam, Mega Man Soccer, Mario Tennis, Mario Super Strikers.
Like the sleek look and that they add other improvements like sturdier and multi-angled kickstand. Not sure I'd pay more than $60-70 for it though, and that would be a bit of a luxury item still as I don't play my Switch that long before returning to my dock.
Granted, for travelling / flights this could be fantastic.
There are a lot of memorable moments that can come up from the game for sure, and it being as large, physics based, and non-linear as it is, it really helps make the journey personable.
I have a memorable moment recently where I found this beautiful horse on a snowy mountain, but it was being ridden by these nasty moblins. They had high leveled bows that took off, oh, 7-10 hearts a shot, and there were two of them. Tough, but I'd seen some of their kind in the plains before. Nothing a bit of arrows, food, and Stasis can't solve. I managed to defeat them both in fairly short order. It was snowy, so I couldn't quite tell the exact color and patterning of the horse I freed, but it looked greenish blue with a kind of spotted, speckled, and swirled design all in one. I thought, I must register this horse, so I can travel with it further. Most of my venture thus dar has been by foot, but with most landmarks discovered, it would be nice to roam around on horseback. Per usual, though, the nearest stable was far, far away, and the mountain outskirts I was on made my path to it fairly limited.
Along the way I saw a camp of other moblins, with a couple on towers as lookouts. I did my best to stay to the side, it didn't stop them from noticing me or firing arrows, but I managed. I thought of what I should name this beautiful horse, and wondered what it'd look like in clearer skies. Maybe...Snow. or Dale, like Snowy Dale? I think that's a common-ish phrase. Just a little further and, is that another horse in the distance...? It's by itself though and there's usually in packs. Wait no, it's a lynel, and a white haired one at that! I should be fine though cause it's far....! But no, suddenly I'm sent flying. I run and try to dodge to the left, but one sword swing takes off a dozen or more hearts as my food rations quickly disappear. By the time I realize I've made a horrible mistake it is too late, I turn and see that Dale is on his two hind feet and a reflectively blue....he's been frozen solid by an ice arrow! Before I can get to him, the lynel gets there first and in one fatal swipe, Snowy falls to the ground. Horses can die?! I wonder as my shield breaks and I take a swipe or two of my own from the oncoming onslaught, my reserve fairies fly away, never to be seen again.
With a heavy heart I realize the hopelessness of my plight, I could last a little longer, unload the 50+ bomb arrows I've stored, but it wouldn't be enough, not in this state. Snowy's body is no longer on the ground, having mysteriously and suddenly faded from existence, almost as suddenly as he had been a part of my venture. My hand falls to my side...onto something firm. The sheikah slate? The lynel is still full steam, a distance, but only so he can gain momentum to deliver the finishing blow. My body is covered in light as my hand instinctively activates the ancient ruin, the lynel's hatred is unrelenting as he charges through my once present form, undeterred and still hungry for violence. As I'm whisked away I meet the lynel's gaze with my own, determination rising. Someday, somehow, I'll be back, and I'll find a way to make things right. RIP Snowy Dale 3/23/17
I came to the 3DS party later in it's life cycle, but I've picked up a number of the older DS consoles on the cheap. The design is superbly clever (dual screen, touch screen + button controls, clamshell), and there's a real charm to seeing the various iterations/forms it's taken over the years.
Love the sturdiness of the original phat DS, the sleekness of the DS Lite and then the DSi (the camera had crap resolution, but the photo editing and photo frame software was magnificent).
And the improvements and refinements over the years with the CL screens, 3D with facetracking, Augmented reality, etc. The res is starting to be a little too aged and low end, but if they released a higher res, affordable, and more significantly improved 3DS (as opposed to the slighter 'new' models), I'd be interested in checking it out.
Though right now, it's Switch time. If any new 3DS came out, I'd want it not to interfere with Switch games / success, and I'd still prefer previous portable only games (i.e. mainline pokemon, phx wright ace attorney, etc) to make the Switch. But the DS/3DS line has been pretty solid, so, give it a couple years, and I may still be interested in another generation or 2 of it.
Played a few sessions, quite hope they change 'This Way!' back to "C'mon" as that is many times more useful/versatile.
I'm a fairly large fan of the original, can maintain about A+ rank nowadays and put several dozen hours into the game (prob 100+). I like the graphical improvements, and all the controller options felt better than I thought they would. The two screen WiiU setup can't really be beat, as the experience was tailor made for it, but it may still be workable (map + battling). I feel like it doesn't quite have the same feeling and charm as the original though, musically, and I've been pondering and trying to pinpoint it, and the best I think to describe it is the pacing feels a bit too fast now. The demo seems to lean a fair amount more to the competitive side (makes sense per their advertising), but a good part of Splatoon1's charm is accessibility. Splatoon1 can and does get hyper competitive, but it is still accessible. This newer version feels faster, but to the point where it makes the game less accessible and less good in different ways to the overall experience, imo.
The stages felt too close together and did not feel very distinct / unique from each other (especially compared to Walleye Warehouse and Saltspray Rig. Played three sessions and I know the general layouts of the maps as I'm walking through them, but I couldn't tell you which one was which by name or which distinguishing features were on the same map). The respawn timer also felt shorter, but less time to rethink your strat, revel in your loss or celebrate a revenge splat from a teammate.
Splatoon1 did involve much quick decision making, but it also had moments of relative quiet as you're rushing back to the battlefield. Gave you some time to ponder your strat, as well as the maps were larger, which made it feel like there were more places you could approach from, more likelihood you could sneak by unnoticed, and a longer chance you'd survive a bit longer if you're a new squid.
Overall I'm still looking forward to the game, being able to local multiplayer sounds great (very much hoping this allows for local + online at the same time). As is though I'm sure it'll be fun, but my initial impressions are I'm not sure it will be as fun for me compared to the original. Hoping they re-work and improve on the stage size, stage distinctiveness, and overall pacing of the game before release time.
Been looking at this and the other Neo Geo fighters, I think I'll buy this one. Seems more light hearted and hence better suited in terms local drop in / random fighting games matches with random people, and would probably suit my group better (main fighting game we play is Smash)
The presentation could've been a bit more excitingly presented, but the extra gameplay info is helpful, to understand the depth of the gameplay a bit more
It was supposed to be a custom X1 Tegra chip. So basically, Nintendo ~lied, or perhaps in softer terms, made the specs out to be better than they were. Sure, technically speaking, it could be considered 'custom', customly weaker than the standard chip. At that point, why even... why even talk about it or try to sidehandedly, or PR hype, talk about it? Sheesh.
That said, games still look great and I actually don't care that that much about the specs, as long as it looks good and the games are there. Imo the system is still fairly reasonably priced and such, an awesomely neat piece of hardware, and Zelda is great and ~Arms and Splatoon and Mario will also astound. Main factor here is I care about Nintendo being honest with me, and this feels like a betrayal tbh.
So, meh. Meh! Meh. Do better in the future, Nintendo, you're the only gaming company I really particularly care about. Don't let me down.
Liking it a lot, the hardware is really cool. Have shown it off to a few friends and the general thought is positive (had a lot of fun with Snipperclips in groups!). Tried playing it in the car while carpooling, but, too much potential for motion sickness. Been bringing it to work this week though and playing it some during lunch breaks, which is pretty good, though I'm more used to longer play sessions. I'm looking forward to seeing other games I have my eye on release on the Switch
Bought Zelda, Snipperclips, and Blaster Master so far (but have yet to try it). Looking forward to Celeste, Wonder Boy, ~Rime, Arms, Splatoon2, Mario Odyssey, particularly.
Idea is interesting, but it does look fairly rough on the edges and like it'd be hard to control. Could use some more polish as it feels rushed to make launch date.
@daveh30 Agree per messaging, though the free-to-start idea presented in the article sounds best, as then a vast number of Switch holders could demo the interesting joycon functionality with others. That or the the game being $20-30, I may partake, then.
Particularly, the marble counting game sounds very intriguing / interesting to try and show off, though it'd make sense that they wouldn't then just put it out for free. Could get a lot of people interested though in the possibilities, if it were standardly downloaded on the system and could be demo'd on a whim.
It's optional so I don't care too much, and particularly I feel like this Zelda game was a significant dev effort by Nintendo, and as such I feel the DLC (and the previous master and limited editions) are justified per asking price.
Per the DLC itself, seems like a fair amount of content for the price. Hoping the new Hard mode is more finely detailed then just an even stat boost on enemies. The new story sounds interesting, though how expansive that may be, remains to be seen. Kind of surprised they want to release the DLC so early, the game looks big enough that it will keep players busy for awhile (if they take it at a moderate pace), so it almost seems like if they had waited to implement the DLC, say, a year after the game came out, it'd make things more 'fresh', whereas now I could see a lot of people just buying the Switch come summer or otherwise, not finished the standard main story, before the DLC is already out in the wild.
@speedracer216 Agree on the confidential / sensitive information point. As a company/business, Nintendo has paid several people via research and dev to come up with good ideas and invest in new technology, as well as the form factor in which a player would consume/use said tech.
It is much harder to create something new as opposed to ripping off existing ideas. While the industry does feed off of and grow from innovations across the industry, it's important that the ones who pioneered a tech and forefronted the costs for it, to be able to come to market first and make back the money and hopefully be rewarded (via net profit) for the investment.
Otherwise, it becomes less (or potentially, not) profitable and hence less / not worthwhile to innovate and try new things.
Wish they had just made the triggers analog to start, or at least put them in the pro controller, for the possibility of GC VC. While I'm glad the Switch has potential for custom joycons, at that point it'll just make things too confusing (the Wii assortment of accessories already can be confusing for the average consumer).
That all said, the main thing I want is Smash Melee on the go via Switch. If Nintendo just makes a remastered/ HD / or single port of that game to the Switch (just re-code it to make the shielding [when pressing a trigger] act as though player pressed a ~full shield, with slower decrease time) then I wouldn't ~care as much if the other GC games came out.
If they manage to get full GC VC, though, there are some good fighting games that could be ported (Soul Caliber 2, Bloody Roar, X-men Next Dimension)

Re: Poll: Who Is Your Favourite ARMS Fighter?
I voted for Min Min, I like Mechanica as well, but her mech is a little too bulky and you don't get to see much of her.
When I hear Spring Man, I can only think of Spring Man from Mega Man 7

If so, I'm really glad that happened. Her wit makes for more interesting dialogue than I think Callie's more cheery or potentially airheady dialogue would have been (if the roles were reversed, it'd be a depressed/worried/indecisive Callie, which would have been less interesting imo).

For the time, it was a fun thing to play and look forward to, so I'm glad it exists, but I'd want to see it provide more value and less cash grabby if they continued with it. The idea people have proposed of allowing Nintendo rewards to purchase plays would be a solid idea.

I think they did try to put the audience at ease some though, as on pikachu's return the staffers were kind of waving the arms and pointing at them as a triumphant /celebratory kind of return (and in a less mob like fashion ;p I think I heard the audience clapping as well), but alas, it was not meant to be
Re: Weirdness: The Sad Tale of the Deflating Pikachu That Couldn't Dance
Re: Meet The Mario Maker Player Nintendo Wants To Ban For Keeping The Game Alive
Re: Video: Nintendo Switch Controllers All Have a Power Button Hiding in Plain Sight
Re: Death Squared is Making Its Way to the Nintendo Switch eShop
Looks like it'll be a blast to play, easy to pick up, and entertaining to watch/spectate, the perfect match for the Switch!
Re: Nintendo Outlines Pricing and Details for DLC in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
Kinda pricey DLC, and content seems just ok (maybe on the new char classes), though I'm not an avid FE fan.
I think Blaster Master Zero did it right per DLC pricing and content.

Re: Nintendo States That Support for the 3DS Family of Systems Remains Strong
Console gaming is still pretty expensive, largely due to game price. While I'm glad for budget system options, I hope the 3DS line, and games in general, get a price reduction so that the hobby overall can be more budget friendly and reach a larger audience.
Sure, games go on sale, eventually, but outside the Nintendo Selects, the Nintendo line of games tend to be pricey (compared to the competition in sales prices, or gradual reduction of prices over time).
Re: Capcom Wants You To Know That It's Taking The Nintendo Switch Very Seriously
Re: Nintendo Download: 27th April (North America)
Will have to investigate, but Use Your Words sounds like fun (hopefully it has enough content to not run into old content often). My group's been enjoying Jackbox's Fibbage XL game, and this sounds like it could be similarly fun
Re: Feature: 30 Games We Might Get On The SNES Mini Classic Edition
I think this is just setting people up for big disappointment, as I'm 90% sure this is a rumor but they are treating it like it's a fact.
Articles should be clearly stated when it's a rumor, I thought NL was better at this?

Re: Mr. Shifty Devs Tackling Frame Rate Issues After Initially Suggesting You Should Pick Steam Over Switch
Re: Citigroup Analysts Predict Nintendo Will Release a Mini-Switch in 2019
If it's only lighter, sure, they can do whatever.

Re: The Quirky Miitopia is Getting Localised to 3DS in the West
Glad this is getting localized, I had thought the idea of a Mii based RPG would be great, so it'll be interesting how they handle it.
@manu0 You played through the Japanese version? How would you rate it compared to a standard RPG? Is it more a full RPG then or short story segments?
Re: Project Mekuru is a First-Party Multiplayer Title Heading to the Switch eShop
...Is this really a first party title?
Re: ARMS Punches Its Way Onto Switch On 16th June
Ah, June is so far away... I was hoping it would arrive earlier to help ease the pain of waiting for Splatoon :,[
That said, like the new char. The battle footage seemed too long to maintain high interest throughout, seemed like they increased the character's health bars by like x3. I hope the standard mode has lower default health to make for faster matches / action, and perhaps making health bars adjustable in the Options menu (normal, large, largest, etc, I know some other fighting games allow this).
Re: Poll: What Wii U Ports Would You Like to Play on Nintendo Switch?
Moreso looking for VC to come out so I can play my Nintendo favs on the big screen and on the go, but a Smash game (minus Brawl) on the Switch would be fantastic
Re: Four-Player Competitive Platformer Abraca: Imagic Games Will Cause A Kerfuffle On Switch This May
I'm all for the idea and am glad that this dev is making use of the Switch local wireless.
Re: Review: Has-Been Heroes (Switch eShop)
Surprised the reviews are this low, but hey...it's only $10? I thought it was $20. For $10 I'm open to checking it out, I had fairly mild interest before, but seems like a game that is fairly polished for that price point (tldr the article, just per my own initial video impressions).
I think they had a cart version too, if they dropped the price bc of the reviews, hopefully the move to physical didn't hurt profits too much.
Re: Aonuma Says That Open World Is Here to Stay in Zelda Games
Re: Video: NBA Jam Fans Might Like the Look of NBA Playgrounds, Coming to Nintendo Switch
Re: SwitchCharge Is A Case Which Gives Your Nintendo Switch 12 Hours Of Stamina
Like the sleek look and that they add other improvements like sturdier and multi-angled kickstand. Not sure I'd pay more than $60-70 for it though, and that would be a bit of a luxury item still as I don't play my Switch that long before returning to my dock.
Granted, for travelling / flights this could be fantastic.
Re: Video: Zelda: Breath of the Wild's Development Team Talk Over Their Favourite Moments
Re: The 3DS is Six Years Old in the Americas, How Time Flies
Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire on Nintendo Switch?
Re: Review: Waku Waku 7 (Switch eShop / Neo Geo)
Been looking at this and the other Neo Geo fighters, I think I'll buy this one. Seems more light hearted and hence better suited in terms local drop in / random fighting games matches with random people, and would probably suit my group better (main fighting game we play is Smash)
Re: Video: Nintendo Releases Localised ARMS Character and Weapon Showcases
The presentation could've been a bit more excitingly presented, but the extra gameplay info is helpful, to understand the depth of the gameplay a bit more
Re: Nintendo Switch Chip X-Ray Suggests The Console Is Running A Stock Nvidia Tegra X1
Eh, feeling pretty meh about this news.
Re: Poll: One Week On - How Do You Feel About the Nintendo Switch?
Re: Nintendo of America's Store Opens Orders on Individual Nintendo Switch Docks
Better than the rumored or originally stated $80. Still a tad pricy, so, not sure. But, much more workable price than before.
Re: Vroom in the Night Sky Joins the Nintendo Switch Launch Line-Up
Idea is interesting, but it does look fairly rough on the edges and like it'd be hard to control. Could use some more polish as it feels rushed to make launch date.
Re: Nintendo Unleashes a Nintendo Switch Infographic of Confirmed Nindie Games
Celeste and Blaster Master Zero are looking like buys to me, and maybe I'll re-buy 1001 Spikes if the price is right and cause the game rocks.
There were a few other interesting looking platformers I may keep my eye on as well.
Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Countdown - 1-2-Switch Would Have Been Ideal As 'Free-to-Start'
Re: Talking Point: The DLC Expansion Pass for Zelda: Breath of the Wild is Both Surprising and Inevitable
Re: Editorial: 'NX' Development Documentation Gives Few New Insights, But The Leak is Far From Ideal
Re: There's No 'Concrete Answer' for GameCube on the Switch Virtual Console, But There's Hope
