Re: Nintendo Confirms Switch Online Service Will Launch In Second Half Of September

DannyBoi

I am not buying an online subscription now. I said I was, but I have lost confidence in Nintendo regarding the online service. There are not a lot of details on it, there is no option to copy save files to an SD card/USB PenDrive, only going to be nes games, no snes, n64 or gamecube games, and it seems likely that Youtube and Netflix(plus maybe even the internet browser) will be llocked behind the online service. And I also have lost faith because of Nintendos anti consumerism with certain things.

DannyBoi

@GKO900 @JaxonH Yes, like I have mentioned various times on Nintendo Life having no free alternative backup method is bad news and Nintendo should be held accountable for it. Another worry is that we may only be getting nes games. No Snes n64 gamecube games. Just nes:(. And we now have a relative idea of when the online service will launch(no solid date though).

Re: Rumour: Free-To-Play Switch Games Won't Be Impacted By Paid Online Service

DannyBoi

@ICISAZEL The real reason they only allowcloud save is that the Switch could be hacked throughan SD card/save files. Any way the Switch could be hacked, Nintendo will try and stop it. They have gone overboard with it though. The thing is, Nintendo know we want an alternative backup method, so they may actually give it us, if they deem it is safe to do so. In my opinion, they should have added this at the start and that would have prevented all this trouble. I think it is wrong that we stipo have no alternative method of backup, plus the Switch obviuosly uses an SD card lot, sowhy not let us copy save files to it? Nintendoare making a big mistakenot allowing us this basic feature. Hopefully in thenext update, they will finally shower us with grace and allowthis basic feature.

Re: US Trader Rubs Salt Into Nintendo's Share Drop Wounds With $400 Million Bet Against The Company

If Nintendo were not so closely guarding details and telling us next to nothing about game releases, then investors would be more confident in Nintendo and more relaxed. I mean the online is now only a month away, and we still don't know all about it. I mean, we don't even know how cloud saves are gonna work, and I really wish they would tell us how they work. Hopefully this will be what gets Nintendo tobe more willing to release information.

Re: Pre-Orders For Nintendo Switch Online Subscriptions Go Live On Amazon

DannyBoi

Let this be good advice and a message to Nintendo. I think the online service is good and is cheap(compared to PS Plus and Xbox Live Gold) and they will be getting a subscrpition from me. What I do not like at all about the online service is that for people who are not interested or do not want a subscription, they will be unable to backup their save files because Nintendo only offer cloud save and it is behind the online subscription. So for those unfortunate people whodo not have an interest in online gaming or the subcrption, should anything happen to their console, all their save data could be lost, which should never happen to anyone. If Nintendo think cloud save will stop people complaining it will to a degree. But there willstill be people who complain because there are noalternative backup methods, I being one who willkeep complaining. It would be soeasy toadd SD card save backup, it would only take a sytem update and everyone would stop complaining. There are actually a good number of people whowant this Nintendo.

Re: Trailblazers Will Blaze A Trail With A Physical Edition This September

DannyBoi

Need for Speed crossed with Splatoon:p? NEAT! I like the sound of this, may get it. Have to look at pictures and watch the trailer.

@DannyBoi There are times when you can talk about moving saved data to an SD card, however, all of your comments have a rant about it (sometimes being longer than the part relating to the comment) when the article has nothing to do with that. Please keep your comments related to the topic of the article.

Re: Saucy Brawler Skullgirls 2nd Encore Is Coming To Nintendo Switch

DannyBoi

This does look promising and I would like to get it when it comes out:). Anyone know how much it is? Would appreciate if someone knew. What is the game about anyway? And Nintendo, the fans keep asking for SD card save data backup for a reason. Other consoles have it(although they use USB pendrives, they still offer a free backup option) and a lot of fans do not feel safe waiting for the online service to launch as our save data is still at risk.

Re: Splatoon 2 Pearl And Marina amiibo Will Provide Special Gear And Photo Opportunities

DannyBoi

I am planning on getting this game at some point as it looks fantastic(never played the first one). Not interested in the online mode though. Although Imust admit that the expansion looks good. But until Nintendo allow us to use the SD card to backup our save data, and prefferbaly before the online service launches, I will be wary of buying it and investing any time in it as I would not want to lose my save data because my console breaks or other such accident.

Re: Hackers Have Now Found A Way To Emulate Nintendo 64 Games On Switch

DannyBoi

I don't agree with hacking, but when hackers are able to add SD card save backup and Nintendo still do nothing about it, it makes Nintendo look behind with their console. And not everyone wants to use cloud save. Some people will travel a lot with their Switch, not always being able to connect to the internet. And becuase of that, they can't back up their save data. With SD card save backup, they couod could back it up. And Nintendo, a lot of people do not want to wait for cloud save to backup their data, they want to back it up now and rest easy. I for one, want SD card save back up before the online service comes, as do a lot of people.

Re: Hackers Have Now Found A Way To Emulate Nintendo 64 Games On Switch

DannyBoi

@Agramonte Yes, exactly. In terms of SD card save backup, during the wait for the online service our save data is still at risk and we should not have to fear losing it. All Nintendo have to do is release a system update that adds SD card save backup support and everyone can rest easy and actually enjoy the console.

Re: Nintendo's Share Price Falls Yet Again With A Lack Of Game Announcements Possibly To Blame

DannyBoi

Nintendo's problem is that they keep things secret for too long, thus investors get nervous and don't want to invest, then suddenly Nintendo announce a killer title(such as Metroid Prime 4 or the sequel to Mario Oddysey) and then investors invest in Nintendo like their life depends on it. Nintendo have a right to be quiet about things, but they should be more open about things they are working on. Youtube and Netflix, for example, nothing on that at all. For that matter, we don't even know if the Switch will ever have SD card save backup, preferably before the online service launches.

Re: New Nintendo Switch Bundle Includes 90 Day Free Trial Of Switch Online Service

DannyBoi

This is a nice gesture from Nintendo:). Praise to them/. There is one thing that needs adressing though. During the wait for the online service to launch, users save data is still at risk, which is affecting fans enjoyment of the the console(me included). Were Nintendo to add SD card save backup before the online service launches, that problem would be solved.

Re: Poll: Is Your Nintendo Switch Cracking Under The Pressure?

DannyBoi

I wouldn't say it is a design flaw. I believe part of the issue is that when in the dock, the console is affected more by the heat(console will obviously get considerably hotter in the dock, while being moderately warm in handheld mode). But unless your Switch is falling to pieces, don't send it back as there is a good chance your save data will be lost. If we had SD card save backup, we could send it in without fear of lost save data. Still waiting on Nintendo to add this feature:p.
