Dead cells in its launch state on switch was an example of a highly polished and 100% playable/enjoyable title without need for any further patches.
Framerate issues have plagued games from all generations, criticising a developer for continuing to support and nurture their product is a tad frustrating when there are genuinely broken games out there with no improvements or fixed incoming /or ones clearly not even remotely suited to the switch that dont get ragged on in such a pedantic fashion.
To be fair, @Dom does often state the score is not the most important part of the review. I've yet to buy Cities myself and have waited partly until the NL review, and it is true that other sites have offered scores as high as 9 out of 10 for the switch port. This reads less like a 5 and more like a "yes, but know what you're getting yourself into".
He always shows he has played the games he reviews thoroughly enough to make decent commentary on them and with a keen eye for important details, it seems to be lost on some folk that the number really is just a personal expression of opinion and one we elect to come here to listen to, sad if the score itself is reason enough to adopt a "your opinion is wrong" attitude.
Its just a number, the review itself is of far greater value and certainly hasnt put me off buying the game. Yes it has issues, reading elsewhere it seems even PS4 struggles with it so thats unsurprising. Still important that we know the caveats before we buy surely?
@looking on amazon found a maegoo controller for £16, assuming its the same one (reviews well on there). Wondering if you find the analogue sticks offer more precision than regular joycons... i find games like fortnite a bit tough to aim accurately using joycons so keen to find something a bit more precise.
Either Gonna get this or use my dualshock with an 8bit do bluetooth reviever
But how well do they work? If they work well I may be tempted...
EDIT: even the listing on ebay is quite transparent about the product, never states its official and is marketed as unbranded. Perhaps the message here is for folk to double check exactly what theyre buying (kinda a given on ebay), but in reality this listing isnt quite as insidious as the tone the article imparts.
Feels a bit like some folk require the service to affect all games to make their purchase feel justified. Whether or not Fortnite is affected by the online subscription shouldnt really matter if you've decided to buy for your own reasons.
NIce review, thanks. Have been eyeing this up curiously since it appeared on the eshop, but cautious it was too lite to cater for someone with a taste for depth.
Love or hate it, Fortnite deserves its success given the lack of pay to win elements, family friendly graphics and gameplay and near infinite replay all for free.

@Damo I kinda find these new, lengthier review taglines sometimes deter me from reading the article/clicking the link, just saying.
