Re: Poll: A Retro Quest - Were You Able to Buy a Super NES Classic Edition / SNES Mini?

DBailey

I think Nintendo has done much better this time round with the SNES mini. I preordered two, one for me and the other for my Dad's birthday present and both have arrived on or before the Saturday, one from Nintendo's UK store and the other from Amazon UK.

I work in a supermarket and the fact that we have plenty in stock across the region means to me that Nintendo have somewhat kept up with demand here in the UK. Unless people don't think to check where I work or because they're £10 more expensive, stock levels are good at the moment.

Re: Video: Here's The World's First Nintendo Switch Unboxing

DBailey

I'm not going to watch any of these leaked videos. With only 2 weeks to go, I think it's worth the wait. Even if it is just the UI or unboxing, these experiences can be somewhat personal and I hold memories of unboxing systems and booting them for the first time.

It's up to Nintendo to hurry and reveal anything that they wanted to. Because, by the looks of things, most of the system will be spoiled before March 3rd.

Re: Feature: Thoughts on the Nintendo Switch Preview Event in London

DBailey

My brother and I traveled a good 150 miles to attend the event on Saturday morning. There were too many people there and the staff didn't check IDs and just seemed to funnel everyone in.

The event was decent but to play most games there was a queue of 10 minutes minimum for the 1,2,Switch games. Plus I didn't fancy queuing for Mario Kart or Splatoon, never mind Zelda, which the queue was closed off after only an hour of being there.

Kudos to Nintendo. Holding an event for that many people with so few game play stations must've been tough.

And kudos to anyone who played enough to get a Switch badge, that's some determination there.

Re: Miyamoto on Why Nintendo Waited to Make Smartphone Games

DBailey

If Nintendo can generate more revenue and exposure from mobile gaming, which is pretty much guaranteed, then of course the company is better off this way. I love Nintendo and want them to prosper as best as they can.

Ultimately their mobile games will point to 3DS and Switch where you can get a better experience with games/characters and hopefully create more sales.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of the Nintendo Switch?

DBailey

I love everything about it. Will definitely be a day one purchase.

My concern lies with mainstream and whether the system is appealing. Of course there are still a few factors as to whether the console will be as popular as, say, a Wii or DS.

The launch games and if there is plenty of variety of genres and 3rd party support.

The battery life. If it lasts between 5-6 hours with heavy demand, wireless and/or brightness, then I think Nintendo will have nailed that aspect.

And finally the price. I don't see this being sold at a loss, as Nintendo doesn't normally go down that route. And if the price is somewhere between £200-£250 then I think Nintendo could expect a good selling system.

All in all Nintendo did a great job with the messaging of the Switch. We found out most things it is capable of and the uniqueness of the system.

There's still plenty to see but considering the confusion when the WiiU was announced, Nintendo is off to a great start. I am so happy for them.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's 2015?

DBailey

I've spent more time this year playing 3DS and Wii-U than any of my other systems, PC, Android & PS4 and I've played MGS5, Bloodborne & Fallout 4 quite a lot.

My point is regardless of announcements and the amount of games released, I still found myself more drawn to Nintendo than any other.

Keep releasing those amazing games Nintendo.

Re: Talking Point: Star Fox Zero's Delay Could Be The Final Nail In The Wii U's Coffin

DBailey

I'm sure Nintendo know fully well that Star Fox isn't really a system seller. Yeah, us fans are gonna go out and buy it, but the larger number of Wii-U owners probably won't have this game on their radar.

The only game that Nintendo has left, that we know about and what will sell systems, is Zelda Wii-U. And let's face it, that game isn't coming out till the second half of 2016. So maybe it's a blessing that Star Fox is delayed, just to try and keep the sales ticking over throughout 2016.

P.S Xenoblade Chronicles X looks like a fantastic games. Let's just hope it gets advertised to the right people.

Also if the Super Mario Maker Wii-U bundle gets a price drop before Christmas, you can almost predict that Wii-U sales will be good to decent.

Remember when the N64 and Gamecube had price drops?

Re: Humble Bundle Issues Official Statement About Region-Locked Nintendo Promotion

DBailey

As long as the rest of the world can eventually get round this region locked nonsense then I'll be happy.

I know these are Indie games but I am glad Nintendo is involved in bundling them for charity.

Also this only gives me confidence that Nintendo are willing to try new things.

PS if the bundle was available worldwide it would have passed $1,000,000 by now.
