Re: Rumour: Buddy Pokémon Could Be on the Way to Pokémon GO

Crimzonlogic

Yes, this is splendid! I could finally actually raise a starter, which I have only found two or three of each so far. I wish I kept my original charmander, but with the catch-based level up/evolve system as it is he was useless since I never found more charmander, so I turned him into candy, sadly.

I still have a 400-something cp charmeleon who would be a good candidate for walking for candies, though!

Re: Niantic Pushes Out a New Pokémon GO Update

Crimzonlogic

IV's are nice to know, so this is a good feature. Now you can quickly check to see if that charmeleon is worth spending 100 hard-to-find charmander candies on to evolve or not. If its stats are horrible just save the candy for the next charmeleon catch, or possibly a charizard catch if you're lucky enough.

I'm just waiting for battles to be more fleshed out. Plain tapping on the screen isn't fun. I want to battle other players with a decent battle system more than I want to catch everything and hold a gym for two minutes. The game as it is is boring now.

I also never get hyper potions any more. All I get are regular potions, and they arn't enough to heal up my best mon's after gym battles. So I can't do much battling...I hope they roll out those pokemon center pokestops soon. I need 'em.

Re: YouGov Estimates That Over a Million UK Players of Pokémon GO Have Bought In-App Purchases

Crimzonlogic

Meanwhile I haven't spent a cent yet. I have pokestops all around so I never run out of items. I get coins from defending gyms so those are how I get my lucky eggs and the one bag upgrade, which probably wasn't even needed, really. I'm glad I'm in a city full of stops and gyms. Now if only the game wouldn't crash every five minutes....

Also I hatched a 1200cp scyther today with pretty good attacks. That's off topic but it made me really happy.

Re: Weirdness: Pokémon GO Has Inspired Parents in the US to Name Their Children After Pokémon

Crimzonlogic

None of those names listed sound even half bad, and most ARE already names. Ivy, Shay and Star don't even come across as pokemon names. Roselia is a cute name, like an alternate Roseli. Eevee was already technically a name. It's sometimes even used as a short for Evelyn, and spelled in various ways, like Evie. Ash and Onyx are definitely names that were used before pokemon existed, too. The pokemon is called Onix, by the way.

This isn't officially a trend until we see a bunch of kids named Scyther and Espeon.

Re: Autumn Animal Crossing: New Leaf Update To Bring amiibo Figure And Card Support

Crimzonlogic

Ugh, I needed more excuses to go buy the game a THIRD time...This time I'm not going to sell it when I get bored, It'll just go on the shelf until I want to play it again.

"Cards will make villagers arrive in your town", As in, visitors or potential move-ins? Because I have Lolly the cat in card form, and if having that means I have her as a guaranteed move in I will be happy. She's my favorite villager, I had her in my second and best town.

Re: Pokémon GO Now Available In Italy, Spain and Portugal

Crimzonlogic

@BensonUii But since there are tons of know issues that literally crash the game every few minutes, shouldn't they halt some releases until they get things stabilized? To me this just looks like they are happy to give a broken product to more people and take their money.

Re: Pokémon GO is Now Available in the UK

Crimzonlogic

UK peeps, is the game crashing and freezing a lot or is it playing okay? I'm in the US and it has been running sooooooo crappy, though today was much better! It still crashed every fifteen minutes, but that's better than every three minutes like it has been doing.

Re: Guide: How to Beat Pokémon GO's Server Problems

Crimzonlogic

@Nico07 When a pokemon "disappears into smoke", it isn't a bug. It's the pokemon fleeing from you. I've had about ten or so flee from me, seems to only happen after they break from pokeballs. Today I had two growlithe flee from me. I want growlithe. T-T

Re: Guide: How to Beat Pokémon GO's Server Problems

Crimzonlogic

This game is soooooo buggy and crashy, it's almost unplayable, and definitely frustrating to play. It's not the joy it should be. Niantic had better be working on this because it really does have the potential to be something amazing with some more work put into it. Leaving it as-is would be a shame. You guys in countries that haven't gotten it will hopefully have a WORKING game when it finally reaches you.

Also this game is not complete without the ability to battle other players directly. This needs to be added. Fix the other problems first, though!

Re: Pokémon GO Plus Wearable Already Selling For Over $100, Despite Not Being Released Yet

Crimzonlogic

The game as it is now isn't worth spending so much on, for me. There are a bunch of issues. There's the gym's unbeatable 1hp bug. Players cannot battle each other. The leveling up and evolving methods are bogus: I don't like that I need to catch something like 30 growlithe just to level up and evolve ONE. I have only found a few growlithe total. The game crashes or freezes every three minutes or whenever I throw a ball. They really should improve how you can track pokemon in the nearby list. I spent half an hour wandering around a giant parking lot trying to find a growlithe and could not figure out where it was... When those issues are fixed then I'll happily spend money on it. I know trading and some other little features are coming soon, so I have hopes that this will develop into a decent game. And wouldn't it be cool if you could transfer a pokemon caught in Go to Sun/Moon? My future Go arcanine will dominate local gyms, and then wreck stuff in Alola.

Re: Feature: What Are Your Thoughts, So Far, on Pokémon GO?

Crimzonlogic

I went for a night-walk around my neighborhood tonight because there were two growlithe nearby. Just how does the nearby function even work? The growlithes stay in the top three often but I only found spearows, ekans, rattata, ponyta, and others, some of which appeared when they were not in the top three, and no growlithe appeared at any point. I'm disappointed. It seems like it'll be a long time until I have that arcanine. I looked in the shop hoping I could buy specific pokemon candy or stardust, but nope, of course they don't sell the two items I'd actually want to spend a few real dollars on...Meanwhile all of the nearby gyms(about five in sight from my neighborhood) have a big arcanine spinning on top of them, taunting me...

I noticed this, the game does not crash much at night. So I think the crashing I was experiencing earlier was due to busy servers and NOT so much my junk phone.

@DarkKirby The game definitely feels like it's in beta. I hope they keep updating it. It could be something special with a bit of work.

Re: Feature: What Are Your Thoughts, So Far, on Pokémon GO?

Crimzonlogic

My un-phone-savvy self finally figured out how to download and run it on my junk phone. I caught a bunch of pokemon, and pokestops seem plentiful nearby. However, it crashes every few minutes and it takes about two minutes to boot up each time, rendering it nearly unplayable. I am not sure if the game's servers or my junky phone are to blame...

I caught two growlithe, and that is the pokemon i want to raise. Unfortunately, the only way to raise and evolve pokemon is to catch more of that pokemon, I think? That is so lame. Why do I need to catch 20 growlithe just to evolve and level up one of them?

Re: Even If It’s Not Perfect, It’s Better Than Nothing, Says Mighty No. 9 Creator Keiji Inafune

Crimzonlogic

Yikes, this mistranslation thing seems to sum up today's media pretty well. Someone gets a juicy tidbit and runs it as a true news story without even knowing all the facts, and then everyone runs with it until the whole internet is screaming about something that didn't even happen!

This is why I try to take every single article and report with a grain of salt. You never know if all the facts are there or if something was interpreted wrong or simply made up.

Re: Random: Fans Decode Zelda: Breath Of The Wild's Hylian Text, Find Funnies

Crimzonlogic

@Porpoise No need to insult people for finding a simple thing funny. I didn't find it funny either but you don't see me calling people "Simplistic beings". Don't be so uptight. Humor in it's purest form is being amused by things you aren't expecting, and that is what this is. The humor here can be explained in that you'd think there'd be an intentionally meaningful word or two in these writings, but then it turns out to be something very obvious, like Dungeon on the dungeon or something random, like "now loading" on the magic terminal.

You've probably heard the old joke, "Why did the chicken cross the road?" It's so well known now that it's not funny, and even considered an anti-joke. But originally it WAS funny because you'd expect there to be a silly reason for the chicken to cross the road, since it is being pitched as a joke. Nope, it crossed the road just to get to the other side. What, you were expecting a silly reason? You guessed wrong!

Re: Police Officer Generously Donates Treasured Pokémon Cards To Boy Whose Collection Was Stolen

Crimzonlogic

@Krisi Which card, I'm guessing an Ancient Mew? There are a couple of versions of it that are extremely rare and valuable, though I'm not sure if one only had ten copies. The print given out from theaters is indeed very easy to come by and cheap, though. Maybe he did have the rarer version, or maybe he just misunderstood and has the theater version. I have one of the theater version myself. Neat card.

Re: Two 'Extended' E3 Demos Expected for The Legend of Zelda on Wii U

Crimzonlogic

I also want a demo. Hoping they at least put up a smaller version of the one at E3...

@Yorumi What do you mean they could't make it to NLA in an hour? From the beginning of the game NLA can be reached in just a couple of minutes and there is a small boss battle along the way with loads of smaller enemies to fight. If they went an hour without seeing the city, they were probably not starting from the beginning but exploring the overworld later on, which is full of a lot more than "nothing". Mira ain't no open field. If I recall, the treehouse played the part in Chapter 4 around where you meet L for the first time. That part's in Noctilum. There's a ton of monsters to fight in there, and tons of giant glowing plants that are mind-boggling. That's boring? Nah.

Re: Random: Store Shelves Appear To Be Filling With Pre-Owned Copies Of Star Fox Zero

Crimzonlogic

I haven't gotten this or any other game this year because I'm broke as heck, but as bad for the game as it is I hope this means it goes down in price a good deal for me because I really do want to play it! Since the game is so short I'd feel more comfortable paying less for that reason too.

Now if Fire Emblem Fates can also go down in price soon so I can afford it too, that'd be great. ;-;

Re: Review: Pocket Card Jockey (3DS eShop)

Crimzonlogic

Sounds like it plays out just like a real horse race. The favorite doesn't always win, even if they run a darn good race. Another horse might get up out of nowhere in the last few seconds and barely poke a nose in front at the wire.

One major question: Can we name our horses? Please say yes. I have lots of silly racehorse names bobbing around in my head and I probably will never be able to give them to real horses.

Re: Guide: Getting Started With Star Fox Zero and Mastering the Controls

Crimzonlogic

Dang, the part about the gamepad function ruling out headphones is REALLY annoying. I didn't know about this before. I prefer to play games late at night since getting around to it at daytime is difficult, and for that headphones are kinda necessary to avoid waking people up in the next room. That alone might ruin my enjoyment of this game. There had better be a way to use headphones without missing the dialogue.

Re: Reaction: Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins Had Humour, Weirdness, Teases and Lots of Potential

Crimzonlogic

This cartoon was awesome. I'm all on board for a Starfox Animated Series. Make it happen, Ninty!

@zool I'm not sure why you thought this was a review. This article is by no means a review of the game. It is about the animated short and its potential effect on marketing a game.

Edit: Was in response to this part: "I expect a review to be honest to the point praising the good points and telling us straight about the bits of the game that don't work. Deflecting away from the game to tell us how good a cartoon is, does not improve the game. In fact it is misleading."
