Re: Video: Learn a Little More About Chrono Trigger

@BulbasaurusRex Having a physical copy is peace of mind. I always worry I will somehow break my console, and the games on it will get wiped out. Whereas a disc or cartridge is only lost if IT breaks. Easier to replace a game than a console. I also like to stack things on a shelf, I like the idea of a "game library". Call me old fashioned.
I actually found out earlier that they don't even sell Wii points cards anymore, and I have no debit card and it's not available on Wii U for some dumb reason so Virtual Console wasn't an option for me.
But I did just now score a ps1 copy of Chrono Trigger on eBay for 11 bucks. It's missing the original case but I can get that easily later on if I really want it.

Slightly better graphics? Do some versions have worse graphics or something? I mean, I kinda expect the original on snes to look slightly worse than the newer ones, if that's what you mean.

@BulbasaurusRex 50 bucks? Nah, I can get a brand new copy of the ds version on ebay for about $25. The ps1 version looks like it goes for around $30 for a complete copy, and it comes with another game(Some Final Fantasy game I'm not familiar with). That's not really that expensive for a highly-acclaimed game and should be worth the price, imo.

Re: Video: Learn a Little More About Chrono Trigger

Still on my to-play list. Should I go for the ps1 version or ds version? ps1 is packed with a Final Fantasy game I know nothing about, but the DS version is better, I hear...

And should I play this before playing Chrono Cross, or can I play that one before Trigger without spoilers? I am able to buy a cheap copy of Cross soon if I decide I want it...But maybe I should focus on getting Trigger first?

Re: Video: The Pokémon Company Shows Off the Current Zoroark Distribution

Crimzonlogic

This was supposed to be a surprise? I kinda figured this event 'mon was coming, since gamestop got an exclusive three-pack card blister with a zoroark pin in it. The last time they got a card blister with a pin that was exclusive, it was the dragonite pin blister which was released at the same time the dragonite event came around. That zoroark pin blister was supposed to come out today, but my store doesn't have it yet.

Freaking Mcdonalds? That's the worst fast "food" place...Ewww...

Hopefully we can just grab it with the wifi signal(or whatever it's called) by just going into the Mcdonalds. I don't want to have to buy a burger or stand in line in order to get a code. If I stand in line, I would buy some food even if the code is free because anxiety would make me too embarrassed to go in for just that. Then that would be a waste because Mcdonalds is gross and I don't want to eat it...

Re: Zelda Fans Vent Anger At Nintendo of America Over Doge Memes In Tri Force Heroes

Crimzonlogic

I don't think anyone was angry over trainers in Pokemon X and Y saying things like "Your power level, it's over 9000!" or "I can has battle?" In fact people were joking about it as far as I could tell. Why are people mad over this? It's pretty subtle, it might not even BE a Doge reference.

Besides, the Doge dog is very adorable so if there was going to be a meme in a Zelda game I'm glad they went with that one.

Re: Poll: The Tricky Issue of Retail Games as Download-Only Releases

Crimzonlogic

I like to have physical copies. I only buy retail games digitally if they are on sale (or free, in the case of the Club Nintendo games for coins early this year). If retail games were only digital for full price, I would buy even fewer games than I do now...But I would still cave and pay a full $60 for the likes of Zelda or Kid Icarus.

If they do go all-digital, games had better become cheaper...

Re: Talking Point: Star Fox Zero's Delay Could Be The Final Nail In The Wii U's Coffin

I have Xenoblade X and Yoshi's Wooly World to look forward to. But I have backlogs. And I have still yet to buy Pikmin 3, Mario Kart and Smash Bros Wii U, so I have plenty of Wii U games to crack open for a while. Xenoblade X will likely sponge up twice the amount of playtime than all of those other ones combined, too. That's my big game of the year right there. Can't. Freaking. Wait.

Re: New Pokémon May Be On the Way Following Movie Trailer Reveal

@Porky When I say fourth gen, I mean the actual fourth gen (platinum, pearl, and diamond). Heartgold and Soulsilver were fantastic, however. They were during fourth gen and have the great fourth gen mechanics(That physical-special split was long overdue at that point!), but I don't consider them true fourth gen. They are still gen 2. And I deeply regret losing my copy of Soulsilver...

Let's agree to disagree. I've have way more fun with the gen 6 games and gen 3 remakes than with any other pokemon games. There are so many more pokemon who got fantastic new abilities and forms that actually made them good! And hopefully they keep giving new forms and abilities to certain pokemon. (Fingers crossed for Arcanine!) I never played Pokemon for the story, by the way. The only story as far as I'm concerned is my journey with my 'mons! Which is why I'd enjoy it if they were to do a more loosely presented story in future games. But the real meat of the game is training, breeding, and wifi battling for me. I don't give a hoot about the in-game story, I just want to be a pokemon trainer!

@WreckItRyan "Porky Pilgrim vs. The World." Lol, I dunno...
